- I have anticipated the day that I would share my coming out story on RUclips. In light of the 2016 presidential election, I feel that it is increasingly important for LGBTQ voices to be shared and heard. Thank you to those of you who have already shared your stories. Those stories gave me the courage to make this video!

Logan - I remember you during this time and I'm sorry you were struggling to be yourself and having to hide your feelings. I am thankful that you had friends there to support you. I know those friends personally and they are good people. Thanks for showing this example of being true to oneself. We can only hope that someday others won't have to endure the conflict you did. Logan, thanks so much for your honest, straight from the heart, story. I really admire how you were able to help bring your obviously loving parents to the point of acceptance thru honest communication. So many kids have the same difficulty you had when your dad asked about your boyfriend's rainbow thing. I am so happy for you and your family that it worked out so well. You are correct that coming out continues. I've been out since 1992 (25 years wow) and I'm moving forward.

Thank you for sharing. I think that it is very important for stories like this to be heard and hopefully become normalized. Things definitely DO get better, my coming out was hugely different than yours (horrible actually) but it allowed me to be authentic to myself and things are much much better now even if it took several years!

Hey man, Nathan here. I wish I had the guts you had to come out earlier in life. I waited until I was 34. Now I feel I passed up on 16 years or more on my life. I'm out now and loving it. :-)

I just looked at your coming out story ... it was amazing and so so hard-wearing my mom out me she just ask and I sad yes and she just sad I thought so and that was the end but Dad was a bit different we did not talk to each other for a year living in the same house and the only thing we sad to each other was hello . but he came around and now we are best friend he love me as much as I love him .. once more your story was cool ... happy I subscribe to your channel

I just watched a video about how to protect children from being homosexual with my family. So yeah.... I think coming out wouldn't work for me and I'll hide it until I die :'(
Life truly does get better! I have been meaning to make more videos. I took a step back when Kasey and I moved from Oregon to Connecticut for his doctoral program. You have to do what makes you happy. The great thing about being LGBTQ+ is that we can also chose our family. If you feel like it's unsafe for you to be out then wait. There is no right or wrong time to come out.

I guess it depends if you have a Jr. High or a High school as far as the cut off goes.
