I’m looking to use a crv for a “work van.” Which model and year would you recommend? I don’t know much about them other than the fact that they are reliable. (Automatic preferred). Also not looking to break the bank. Thanks!
Hi, when comparing price and reliability, I can't think of anything better than the CRV gen 2. If you're going to start the engine often and drive shorter distances, the petrol 2.0 ivtec is better. But if you're going to drive longer distances, the diesel 2.2 ictdi is better. You have to factor in more fuel consumption with the petrol. But then again, this car is reliable and money is saved on servicing..🙂
youll break his suspention with work loads.he got one of the worst suspention on his rear wheels.and you can see on the road every single crv have messed up rear wheels.and investing i better suspention may be expensive and not helpful because the crv dont have a solid axle
Hello. Does 2 generation have better 4*4 than 3 gen? Its definetely got better clearance ,what about 4*4? I like 3 gen look, buy need clearance of 2 gen🧐 Thanks.
Hi, the 3 gen has exactly the same AWD system as the 2 gen. The higher ground clearance is 206 mm on the 2 gen. The 3 gen has 170 mm. But you can raise the chassis of the car.😉 Here's a little comparison of the 2 and 3 gen. ruclips.net/video/vqpEAo63Gvw/видео.htmlsi=DEMgasFAdM6wEjKQ
@@OutOfTheWay4x4 Thanks for the info, i just watched this video after I texted. The problem here in the UK there is that no one sells good 2 gen crvs, as they build like a tank, and people will drive them till they end, probably will pass it even for the next generation😅. Well hope i will find what im looking for. Good luck and nice drive CRV🙃
@@Wander6436Yes, that's right, the CRV 2 is immortal 😆 And it holds its price too...That's why I'll be getting an English Discovery 2 too..That's my dream. But there the reliability of the car is not as good as CRV🙂
A 2nd generation CRV with a turbo? 🤔 So just the diesel engine or modifying the ivtec and adding a turbo...? Second time I would go for the automatic..seems better for off road.
1 gen has the same AWD system and the same ground clearance..Only it's a little bit heavier..But it would definitely handle it, off the road it's excellent..
Ii wouldn't try it .. that comes with a b20 4cyl motor awd but that motor is not that strong .. the transmission is good and can take punches but they need boost or cams to give them hp to make them go up easier. I bought a 04 crv and these 2.4 dont even need the overderdrive on sometimes these are strong af
Gear 1 is good for very steep hills and gear 2 is good for steep hills in residential areas also crv has a overdrive system that will give you more power at lower gears.

I have a question if I have an auto and want to attempt a stew hill do I keep it in 4D or drop it to 1,2,3 gear ? Curious
I have a manual in my CRV, but in an automatic I would choose D, or just 1..The car will only use 1 gear on a hill like that.
