I love this. So much so I already have a couple of characters in this sort of theme: Otto Von Turret - Warforged forge cleric/transmutation wizard: With Alchemy Supplies back when they had Integrated Toolkit, and Catapult as their Spell Mastery choice. Guerrilla - Kobold Champion Fighter: Tavern Brawler, Poisoner feats; Thrown Weapon Fighting (from Tasha's) and Archery Fighting Styles (not quite sure if it 'works'). 4 Pack Tactic attacks (4 more with Action Surge), and if worse comes to worse I can Grovel, Cower & Beg my way out of things. Deploying poisoned caltrops and nets as I go.
Hey guys my wife and I recently started D&D and really enjoyed it. Can you do a video about when to stop holding new players hands ? I am curious what you guys think .
Kamikazi Wisps/Sprites: A swarm of surgical striking sui-strafers Note: A few Japanese pilots thought they might reincarnate as stormgods or PIDGEONS (birds linked to the god Daikoku/Bishamon, Guardian King of The North) haunting the Hachimanbara Shrine.
I’ve recently discovered your channel and I’ve been watching back to back videos for days now lol. It’s so nice to see you guys side by side in the same place again. The zoom meeting episodes were entertaining but just not the same vibe. Love your videos!
I think giving the character Weaver's supplies would be on-brand as well, you have a better understanding of how to use the tools to patch up your clothing (because there's a very good chance you've ruined your attire quite a few times with making things that go boom) and make more bags for your stuff to be carried in. Also the idea of this Goblin that considers a "delicate touch" to basically be a stick of dynamite spending time with a sewing kit to fix up the bags that are coming undone or clothing to make it more presentable because they got strongarmed into having to look nice for some reason is a fun thought as well.
Did anyone else immediately go down the Green Goblin road with this? They've got little orange glass vials filled with explosives, gasses, and various shrapnel producing things while flying around on steam punk gliders.
I personally have a MoM kobold crazy doc who’s an alchemist and scribe wizard. Would love to have him also go thief rogue to lvl 3 but the westmarch im in only allows 2 classes per char. Loving the flavor of flavoring catapult as him chucking or kicking vials at enemies. Ice knife turns into a devestating grenade and whither and bloom becomes a gas bomb that you tell your allies to hold their breath on
Im so disappointed that this type of thing isn't officially supported. A mundane crafting class would have been awesome. Something that lets you actually mix and craft and create instead of just using spell slots or 'magic bag' mechanics that skip all of the most interesting and unique parts.
A bombardier build that does not use explosives! I made this character a while ago and am about to play it in a campaign setting! The focus of this build is to use the Explosives as found in the DMG. The odd thing with my build is that it follows the rules really nicely with the exception of 'is throwing explosives an attack or an action?' Other than that, enjoy my weird Explosives Character! [www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dmg/dungeon-masters-workshop#Explosives](www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dmg/dungeon-masters-workshop#Explosives) Alrighty, so, "As an action, a character can throw ~~a grenade~~ \[an explosive\] at a point up to ~~60~~ \[range\] feet away." Now, does that action constitute an attack? Is it an interact with object? Is it both? This is massively important for your DM to determine because the THIEF Fast Hand ability makes these builds feel super smooth. We ultimately decided that the explosive were objects allowing for Fast Hands. Ruling otherwise is cool, but lame, but cool, but lame, but cool. I would strongly push for explosive as Objects because the only thing cooler than throwing an explosive is throwing two explosives. **Wizard Conjuration (2) + Rogue (3) THIEF subclass:** [**ddb.ac/characters/41899992/2DqVpO**](ddb.ac/characters/41899992/2DqVpO) The main rule contention here is 'Minor Conjuration." Jeremy Crawford per [SageAdvice but more like Twitter states that a sword used via Minor Conjuration does not take damage and thus can continued to be used](www.dndbeyond.com/forums/class-forums/wizard/38812-minor-conjuration-mini-guide). But what about explosive? By definition, they have to explode in order to be used. But, just like the sword example, the explosives are functioning as intended and thus are not dealing damage to themselves. The explosive can hit things. Sssssoooooooo, you can Minor Conjuration a full dynamite stack as an action every round and bonus action Fast Hands use the full dynamite stack for 10d6. Beautiful. Best part, the item disappears when it deals damage, meaning only the crime is left with not evidence of what caused the crime. Truly beautiful. **Cleric of the Forge (2) + Rogue (3) THIEF: **ddb.ac/characters/41804120/T5T6nE** Long story short on this one and assuming the DM is cool with the below, you can use your explosive as the action and then use Fast Hands to throw another explosive. Neat and Beautiful! And now for the below... this took hours to get through. Main caveat here is that Artisan's Blessing had a 100gp cap and the item created must contain metal...and you also need 100gp of scrap. Violence is the answer, right? Kill and Pillage daily for 100gp? Bombs cost 150 gp, so can't make those: [www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/bomb](www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/bomb). BUT A Horn of Gunpowder costs 35gp: [www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/gunpowder-powder-horn](www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/gunpowder-powder-horn). "But the Horn of Gunpowder doesn't have metal stuff thus not fulfilling the ability Artisan's Blessing." The horn can have metal. This opens the field for crafting explosives with the gunpowder or just using it as is. The DMs and I decided that making three horns is fine calling it is a bushel and rounded down to 100 because magic. RAW, you should only make one horn. First draft crafting table that we still have not tested: 1- Misfire, waste 1lb gunpowder takes 2d6 fire damage 2-5- Major failure, waste 1lb of gunpowder 6-9- Failure, no result. 10-11- 1 bomb or alchemist fire 12-14- 1 stick of dynamite 15-19- 2 bombs or 1 smoke grenade 20-24- 2 sticks of dynamite 25- 1 fragmentation grenade **Final note** You can also go Bard College of Creation for Performance of Creation to create a Dynamite Bundle worth 20xBard Level. The DM and I didn't even talk about Artificer. I've looked into it and it fails the whole Bombardier experience.
Would shave 3 levels off sorcerer for 3 levels in Gloomstalker Ranger. And for fight style would be throwing style for +2 damage to go with the archery
What if you went Thief Rogue with tavern brawler? That way you can use your acid/alchemist fire as a bonus action. So you run in, throw your bombs, so your sneak attack, and gtfo
Hello my fellow nerds, a question. In the group I play with Anarchy usually breaks out over arguments on the fastest way to earn gold. I would like to know what is the most OP thing that the two of you have either heard of or done yourselves in a game to obtain wealth?
I mean, this is one of those concepts that you don't really need a statistical build around so much as you need the dm's permission. Anyone who knows how to make fireworks or explosives in real life knows that it isn't exactly hard and can make a bomber character in dnd with just their backstory and some basic ingredients. so, things like race and class really don't matter. There's even an argument to made that your stats don't matter. No matter what your int score is you can eventually master anything through repetition which can also be covered in your backstory. It's also not overpowered...like at all. There are primitive bombs stated out in the dmg and they do way less damage than something like a fireball. You also have to make each one by hand and once they're gone, they're gone. You can't just magic up some more of them. If you can convince the dm to let you do it without rolling you can put together more during a short or long rest, since it's basically easy enough to count as "light activity" and again you've got that mastery of repetition through your backstory, but you still need raw materials. You can find any of those in any given town and several just out exploring but that still costs money and time, and you can only carry around so much. Unlike with a component pouch or arcane focus where you basically have infinite resources. You're also going to be out classed by spell casters VERY quickly. Bombs, tnt, and the like are all stated out in the dmg but they deal a fixed amount of damage and you can only get extra damage die by making more and bigger explosives.

Why Wild Magic Sorcerer and not Pyromancy which would fit better I would think.

Nice. I am playing a Goblin Forge Cleric in one of my 5e groups.
Kamikazi Wisps/Sprites: A swarm of surgical striking sui-strafers

oh hell yeah, meet Stuka the Owlin dive bomber
I honestly think going artillerist and using the flame thrower to set off combo barrel of blasting powder and oil is way more potent
Super awesome video!
Did anyone else immediately go down the Green Goblin road with this? They've got little orange glass vials filled with explosives, gasses, and various shrapnel producing things while flying around on steam punk gliders.
This character would be a friend to the cubby family from dimension 20’s fantasy high

The midnight bomber that bombs at midnight. SPOON!

A little alcohol to calm the nerves while bomb making.
Would fast hands from the thief subclass be a good addition to the build? Cunning action toss boomboom flask? Lol
this is great but kinda want to be a dwarf or gnome instead of goblin
What if you went Thief Rogue with tavern brawler? That way you can use your acid/alchemist fire as a bonus action. So you run in, throw your bombs, so your sneak attack, and gtfo
I tried purchasing this from DM guild site but it wouldn’t let me add to cart

Flak seeds
Now just need a fermiler for stealth bomber and minor conjuration always have a bomb
I want to play this guy
I can't wait to play this build. Would love to see a Drakearden Ranger class build so I can play as a dragon.

with acid splash, could you make sulpheric and nitric acid, to create gun cotton, or would you have to make a cantrip or spell for it ?
You can replicate items with the infusions from the Arteficer... replicate an alchemy jug and you can have Acid and oil.
Wow, action surge and twin spell 4 grenados
why did you guys spend only 25 points and leave 2 points on the table?... why not give him three 10s and three 14s?
