  • This is my Vixen SXD mount, running OnStep 4.7f, on the FYSETC S6 3D Printer Board.
The STEP_WAVE_FORM is set to PULSE, and LV8729. The result is 4 degrees per second.
This is way too fast, so I use 3 degrees/second ...

There is backlash, but OnStep has a feature where you can put the number of arc seconds to compensate for, and it works well.
For your STM32 Blue Pill problem, you can post the details of the symptoms you see in the OnStep group, and people will help you.

FYSETC S6 is the board for 3D printers that can be used as a controller for a goto telescope mount with OnStep.

Hi I have a Vixen sphinx mount not the deluxe version is there a complete kit I can buy & fit? As the original starbook version isn't the best, thanks.

No kits for Vixen that I know of.

@@khalid_ba Thanks I'm not really clued up on the onstep system but would like the get the Vixen mount working & more up to date if that makes sense, as in its standard form the starbook system it has isn't the best & for astro photography they weren't great performers from what I've read.

Converting any mount to OnStep usually requires that you replace the motors (unless they are stepper motors).
The CG5/EQ5 mounts have kits, but the Vixen does not.
You have to buy the motors, pulleys, and belts separately, drill holes in the mount flange, ...etc.
That is the way things are ...

if only i could get the FYSETC S6 in India

The MKS Gen-L V2.1 is also a good choice, and cheaper. It may be slow when slewing, but if you are doing astrophotography, then you are not slewing that much anyway.

By the way, I get it from China using AliExpress. That is the only place that I can get it from.
