Who else smiled when they saw how happy the old man was to see the Gleaner.
Matt where you from, I know a guy with your name. From here in Tennessee.
Me
👍
Like a kid in a candy store! 😊
@@clintonemmert5184 I live on Va about 30 minutes from Tenn.
100th! 😂 🤷♂️
Waiting to see some Ideals in the field!
Mike maybe you need a gleaner
Hey mike come down and show me how to run this thing
@@BriansFarmingVideos Oh man! 😂 I would if I could! It would be a gong show! 😂 🤷♂️
Hey
@@mikemitchell2554 At some stage you two should make it happen. It would be a hoot.
Your dad is positively giddy around that Gleaner. You might as well put down a deposit! 🤓
I enjoyed the throw back intro again Brian. Your dad looks like a kid in a candy store with that Gleaner!! 🤣
Man Thankyou Agco I hope the Gleaner brings back alot of great memories for Mr Bob. He seemed excited to run the Gleaner !
Glad to see someone demo a gleaner
I need to find me a woman that looks at me like Bob Brown looks at a Gleaner!
We really like our gleaners! We run a s77 and r65. Simple to use and work on! You won’t lose any corn capacity compared to yours. We run a 12 row head and move right along with it. Plus you don’t need a full time technician riding with you like you would in the ideal fendt. Over priced and way to many moving parts on the ideal in my opinion!
Bob looks like a kid in a candy store.
We demoed a Gleaner 2 years ago. We were very impressed. Excited to see what you think of it!
A Super Series Gleaner, I can't believe it! IM SO EXCITED, I THINK I JUST PEED A LITTLE. AGCO came thru big-time 🙌
As you likely know, the feeder house can run narrower as the crop isn’t forced to change direction
They still block up before the others
@@kallumblake5482 We run them and never have plugged the feeder, they can handle anything you put to it.
@@gleanerman2195 not from what I've seen I ran alongside two (S77 & S78) on a contracting job with my 9760 STS JD and they couldn't touch me. They traded one on a S780 JD the next year. I watched them spend 12 hrs unblocking that feeder that you say you can put anything up
@@kallumblake5482
Sounds like operator error
Uh oh, 5 JD salesmen downvoted the video already; they didn't like you poking fun at Tyler and saying "real combine".
It finally happened! Gleaners are great combines
I’ve always been impressed by Gleaner. Many things they introduced 30 years ago they still use. Shorter and wider than the competitors. The Gleaner was the first combine I saw with a 12 row head.
Built 20 minutes from where I live and farm.. Hesston Ks.
Sure wish Mr Gleaner, Kevin Bien, could have seen the excited look on your Dad's face. Maybe he did!
Love it...the GLEANER has some strong history and field proven.
Will put out the cleanest sample compared to other designs. For the cost upfront and less maintenance costs... I would buy a GLEANER.
We have a gleaner S96. Raise seed beans and win cleanest clean out and run 35 ft Draper have no trouble with capacity
It really is that easy to pull the rotor. We pulled the rotor in our R-65 4 years ago to change the bars. I am curious to see how well it does in soybeans! You don't have to worry about corn , that machine will eat all the corn you can throw at it and the sample will be cleaner than a Deere or Lexion.
It was always my experience that capacity, when it came to threshing, was never a problem with the Gleaner. The throat may be narrow but it’s fast. The drawback I saw on our R52, was that it simply did not have enough chaffer and sieve area, when you got into 200+ b/p/a corn. But it was only a class 5 machine and Gleaners have increased the size of the chaffer and sieve area since that time.
It’s a very simple and light machine. Also, I like the Massey Ferguson which is a heavier combine, but even simpler than a Gleaner, and even fewer moving parts. Both are very good AGCO products. I have a 2011 Massey Ferguson 9695 which was one of the last combines to not have DEF on it. It came down to a choice between that and an S67. Plenty of threshing &separation area, and it produces a surprisingly clean grain sample for the limited number of moving parts. Also, the Massey Ferguson & Gleaner have the simplest unloading auger systems. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Gleaner.
By the way, your Dad is 100% correct on the benefits of a transverse rotor in a Gleaner on hillsides. (Not the up-and-down kind, the ones you have to run canted on or leaning side to side.). Definitely less grain loss on hillsides with the transverse rotor. Also, the position of that rotor essentially right at the rear lower portion of the clean grain tank allows for the grain tank to sit lower and keep your center of gravity lower. This gives a much more stable feeling on hillsides, than you’ll find in most axial rotor combines, especially if you're running singles rather than duals.
I really enjoy that Bob meal!!! please brian don't forget to rub my belly tommorow
That's awesome! I'm glad to see AGCO letting you showcase their equipment. I know a lot of folks make fun of Gleaners, for whatever reason, but they are very popular over here in Oklahoma and Kansas. Come wheat harvest time, you'll see them all over the place. And you'll see them all, too; L, N, R, and S series are all plentiful around here. Hope you like the S97!
Got notified that my dementia awareness shirt shipped today! Hope you and your family are coping well.
I think your Dad has a soft spot for squishy. My brother has developed a soft spot for my wife's 3 cats.
Gleaner love them wen I was a kid 45 yrs ago I ran a A thin a G in the 80s I ran a N 7 it was fast like 7mil a hr with a 27' header in 30 bu wheat. 15 yrs a head of its competiors
I think you watched growincorn2020 to much
Brian, don’t let that throat width scare you. That thing will eat the crop! JD guys around us stay out of “green” bean area because of crop roping. Our Gleaner just eats it up and puts the green beans in the hopper. The Gleaner with a full hopper weighs as much as an empty John Deere. Had doubts at first but now we really like the engine in that combine. We have a JD dealer a mile from the farm but drive 45 minutes for our Gleaner dealer. We love the gleaner! You won’t regret it!
They are the most underrated combine made, they will eat any crop. Class for class they are the best.
I love to see your dad so happy! He looked like a kid in a candy shop! He still knows his way around that machine... even after so many years. I am looking forward to seeing that machine in action!
Your dad looked like a kid in a candy store looking at the Gleaner. A tough decision for you to make in a couple of years
Another great video Brown Farms. 👍👍 Gleaner!!! And Bob is correct, those orange things below the cylinder are the accelerator rolls. Had a fun time last winter changing those on the S77.
Although their combines are well respected, people are sleeping on Gleaners. Not everyone can run a new X9, Lexion or Axion 9. Gleaner is extremely reliable, fuel efficient and nearly always produces an extremely clean product. Great machines if you can get it serviced in need!
Ninja edit: AND extremely easy to work on!
I’ve got to say this is the fastest I’ve ever watched a video after it been posted
Nice! We got a S78 Gleaner in 2014! Shes been a good combine! Definitely easy to work on when needed! Good choice!
Bob Sr. is stoked! I venture to guess, HE decides to buy one...
Glad someone in the RUclips world is trying out the gleaner. We run 2 R76s in North Dakota. They are very reliable combines
Glad To see a silver seeder errr uhh a Gleaner on your farm they are great combines and glad to see you dad happy about the gleaner. Great Video good to see your dad smiling looking at that Gleaner and that feeder house is tiny on the Gleaner
He knows a lot about the Gleaner. He was so excited!!!!! Doubt if you get to drive it!!! Lol!
You'll have to watch Dad, he'll finish up your beans, then watch out neighbours, here he comes.
My Dad thought the world of his Allis Charmers, then Case.
Dealerships seem to be the limiting factor?
Wishing you good luck with the Gleaner.
Just keep in mind the Gleaners made in USA the Claas made in Germany and the Fendt Ideal made in Italy so where is it going to be the easiest place and fastest place for you guys to get parts.
For gods sake‘s Agco get a corn header for these guys to try how do you expect to sell a combine if you don’t give them the options that they need to judge what combine they’re going to buy!
Lexions for the north american market are built in Omaha.
Good to know 👍
That made your Dad so happy! I hope he likes the new upgraded version.
I noticed the auger turret is still the same as my neighbors gleaner from yrs ago n6 I believe
I bet your dad will really enjoy running it id like to see yall get it on your farm permanently.
AGCO stands for Allis Gleaner Company.
Glener combines were first made in Nickerson, Kansas. For years was design for custom harvesters. I grew up in the Nickerson and went to High School there also. Blessings.
S97 would be class 7 so keep that in mind when comparing to the Ideal, which is a class 9
S98 would be class 8 , I would guess replacement parts are much cheaper for Gleaner being its built in the US.👍
Unfortunately combine classes don't mean threshing capacity, they are classed by HP and bin capacity
Most Gleaners have always punched above their weight when it comes to capacity.
@@wiserguy7257 If it couldn't overachieve ,it couldn't be an Allis Chalmers
Like squishies definitely becoming part of the family
So close to 100k subscribers, so happy for you and the Brown Farms family. I remember when I was stoked when you hit 10k not that long ago. Might have to bring back the secret weapon (George) to get you over 100k before Halloween. So relieved harvest has gone well compared to how planting ended.
Brian will get there he's got the technique down pat for making great videos.
George the finisher
Most profitable combine to own!
I think the gleaner is the way to go. Simple and high capacity. If I had the money I would definitely get one. Trouble I have is the closest dealer is 90 miles. And my combine is paid off. But I can dream.
My dealer is 350 miles away, you don't need a dealer close by with a Gleaner. In ten years of running them they have never had to make a trip to work one.
@@gleanerman2195 I'm not worried about taking mine to a dealer. I do all my own work. I just worry about parts and time. During wheat harvest it is hard to make that parts run. But the local Deere dealers never have the parts for my old combine anyways so it's probably not a big deal.
Brian can you imagine Your Dad,Dougo, DC,and Zach's Dad all together doing a walk around different piece's of machinery ! I would drive 300 miles and donate $300 to see that !
Agco will need to come up with a cornhead . So you can really test it out.
If you can only harvest one type of your crops it like having the shirt and no pants .
Love to watch you all farm .. good content.
Dad had a gleaner and used it many years. Good looking machine. I’m excited as your Dad.
Hella ya.. now you can get with it!!! Thank you AG CO. Your AWESOME!!!
We run 2 of those same combines up here in Canada on 6800 acres absolutely love them
How has reliability been
@@BriansFarmingVideos very good we have an amazing local dealer but as far as break downs nothing major just the odd phone call for tech support but we’re not putting corn through either just cereals and canola and some peas
You got a Gleaner!!! This is awesome. I hope it works out well for you folks. Nothing against the Claas but I hoping the Gleaner impresses you. Take care & stay safe. Cheers
We would use dry erase markers to write navigation course changes on the bridge windows when I was in the Coast Guard. Yes, great idea.
Neighbor has a Gleaner. Can't remember the model but it was the largest at the time...about a half dozen years ago. Never had a problem running the corn through. Only time I really seen it out for repair was when the corn snout would contact a fence post or the header would kiss a rock pile or the back end would take a swing at a building in the yard while turning.
Gleaners are smaller in overall size but eat the crop just as good or better.
Your Dad is a classic. It is very refreshing to see you, as a family, getting along while doing hard work. The dealers seem really supportive. Thanks for inviting us along.
Dealers Brian has them bidding against each other. Social media is working for him
Very exited to see this demo. If we had any dealer presence we would probably have a gleaner.
Your dads like a little kid. You are not going to get him outta of the seat!
Judging by the way Bob was acting, I am pretty sure what his next combine is lol
Use the other head from the ideal on the gleaner that’s what we run the s97 and the command corn head
Get a corn head from Mayer Equipment and RUN that Gleaner!
Put my name on the list of people who can't wait to see the Gleaner in action. Have run an R75 myself.
I totally agree with your dad. If they can't build a good AM Radio into a combine that costs as much as a luxury home, to heck with it.
Beans and corn together? Sounds like Dougo.
I'd say Pops was almost Giddy but I would be wrong. He was Giddy!!!!! It was good to see and feel his enthusiams. Well done Brian!!!
Your dad is some lucky to have you boys around to keep him feed and going ,he must get lonely
Great vid, Brian. Love your dads grin.
Brian you know father knows best. I'm betting yall are going to be the owner of a gleaner
I’ve always loved the gleaner. I use to have custom cutters cut my grain with gleaners and they cut much faster and the sample was cleaner. It also didn’t throw hardly anything out the back. I bought an old Massey 750 and ran that for a while and the bought an old 1440 international until the engine blew up. I then bought a old 1480 which I still run. Last winter we did some modifications on the rotor and gaffers and sieves. We put some disrupters on the cage so it will separate more grain befor it goes out the back end. The sieve and chaffer we blocked part to force more air in the right place. It took us a bit to get it set but it cleans so much better. Funny thing is we bought a R62 Gleaner with a Draper head. Low hours. It cuts like a champ. Beautiful machine.
When you opened the side door on that gleaner I thought that looks exactly like my r42
+1 more for being excited to see how you like the Gleaner, and glad to see Agco and/or your dealer getting one for you to try.
Hey Brian. Just saw you drawing with your left hand. LEFT HANDED PEOPLE RULE . ROCK ON.
Drop the corn head off the Ideal 8 and hang it on the Gleaner and push the stick all the way forward and bury BJ!
Unfortunately the head wouldn’t hook right up without some adapter plates
That would be right pity the guys from Agco would bring the adaptor s with the.
Never thumbs up a vid so fast as when u seen the title yesssss you guys are awesome changing out rotors between crops
No need to change rotors between crops. Or concaves for that matter. Change 2 pulleys. Shift rotor gearbox to low or high range. Then go harvest. He’s just saying you can have the rotor on the ground in 10 minutes if you needed to. Fastest change between crops in the industry.
Learning that AGCO carries multiple brands of combines. Does each manufacturer (MF, Gleaner, Claas etc...) make unique combines?
I would take a gleaner over that john deere junk.
Dad sure seemed to be happy about the gleaner being in the yard. Maybe simple & smaller is just as good as big & technology.
After watching several videos I realized you guys are only about 20 miles from where we live.....my mouth dropped open when I saw Chillicothe!!!
How about that!!! I hit the thumbs up and guess who was # 10,000,,,, yours truly! You’re welcome Brian! Let me know when you want my address for a BFV apparels. Size smedium
Only thing that works that green is your money
I work on Gleaners for a living. That S97 has a 7 cylinder engine.
Not a combine guy,,, a true stripper for sure 😎 but I’m almost positive you would get those 10,000 like if you add a Bob and George cam footage in the Gleaner? That might break the internet!
You can tell your dad is legit excited about the gleaner
I have operated Gleaners good for straight cutting. Not good for windrows. Stone trap was a joke. Climbing under the feeder house to clean it out so you could shut it. Popped open on wads of Canola. Left it open loosing grain until through the hollows bunched up zwhat a pain. Old L2cwindrow plus was acjoke too. Electric clutches. Plug cylinder NO reverser. Pull every last straw out before it would start cylinder. Could torque it. Old Class trouble too. Fabric slip clutch ended up welding clutch together to get Canola crop done. Smoked the belts instead but got crop done. Oh Gleaner rebeater shaft twisted in Canola. We sold it the next day got a Deere to finish the crop. .
Love to see the gleaner. I have had a M2 N6 R52 and current R62. By far the worst one was the N6 the R62 is very nice. I watch you videos alot and rember your dad talking about them. This Demo will be light years better than the N5 he had. Good luck and keep up the content. Let BJ try it also.
You will love the 9250 dynaflex head we run one on our massey 9540 and love it
Nice one Brian and thank you AGCO. 360 °threshing and only one gearbox 😬😎
Came for the Gleaner, but I'm sorry man but I get seasick trying to watch your vids. Gimbal man, or learn how to hold something steady >> From someone without steady hands...
You should make a video on price comparison between lexian combine combine the ideal combine and the Gleaner. I own an old r62Gleaner. But I know for a fact if you are looking for which combine can combine the most amount of acreage per hour you'd be very disappointed with the Gleaner. But if you're looking for Simplicity you'd be very satisfied with the Gleaner. capacity wise the Gleaner won't even come close to lexian or an ideal combine. I like to know if you can buy two Gleaners for the price of one lexion combine or an ideal. That would be wonderful.
Pull a Disc behind it during harvest and you'll be planted for Spring... Simular to a Johnny Deere
Didn't know you guys were at Chilicothe, I grew up in Wellston. Live in NC now so when I hear Chilicothe it makes me think of home.
I ran a Gleaner G back in 1972 when I worked for a custom cutter
Straighten that American Flag up on the wall at: 2:03! I believe you will like the Gleaner, I've been using them for years, simple, tough and starve the birds to death!
700 WLW made me smile. :) That's what my grandpa listened to while in the fields too... but with a battery-operated radio, baler twine tied to the tractor. :)
Brian-Man, Please try to hold that camera on something for more than a second. You move around as quick as your eyes move. Mu old-eyes and brain can't keep-up.
Saludos desde México massey Ferguson combiné
Gleaner IS the American combine so to speak. It's like Apple Pie and Bald Eagles..
When it comes the paint. My step daughter took a screw from the bed of my pickup and etched her name into my roof.
