- I went to Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone for a replacement part for my Engine coolant/ AntiFreeze reservoir tank and was quoted $150. I found the exact part for $50 on Ebay.
Was hoping you did the install on video. You might want to replace your Positive Crankcase Breather hose going to the PCV valve. The smooth ones are prone to cracking on the underneath side and Jaguar I believe made a recall on those. The one you should get is "ribbed" and won't crack like the smooth one will.
Just an FYI, I bought the same tank off ebay for $35 and it lasted 1.5 years before it split on the bottom again. If I were you I would get a universal aluminum tank somewhere.
The idiot engineers for jag made the reserve reservoir out of a cheap plastic, making the reserve reservoir on these cars very susceptible to cracking and breaking. I've replaced 6 so far on these cars. You can find a great aluminum replacement online for about $125. Good video! I got rid of my x-type because of the rust issues that infected 03 and older cars. I plan on getting a 05 or newer in the future.
where did you find the aluminum reservoir?
50 $ is exclusive the workplace hours. I do agree diy is better and fun to do.
always check with eEuroParts.com they has original parts from Jag & Volvo. I have both and good deals not like Auto Zone, Oriley's, Advance bull crap. I found the same reservoir with them for $44 plus shipping. So you are absolutely correct it is CRAZY.
Hi what did you start to take the reservoir off
