I had a feeling that Jeep probably didn't work out the bugs, which was why I waited 3 years before getting my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe.... but after 3 years model years into the build process (now 4th) that they still didn't work out all of the issues is very disappointing, I've owned a lot of cars & brands, but Jeeps was my favorite brand, I've owned 4 Grand Cherokees prior to this 4xe.... But in my humble opinion, the Jeep brand has gone downhill since Stellantis took it over; quality is down and prices are way up... The MSRP of my current 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition was almost $15K more than my 2019 Grand Cherokee Summit with a HEMI V8 fully loaded. Getting a Wrangler Rubicon was always a bucket list car, but I so glad I leased this one because, I can't wait to return it.... It's kind of unfair to not be able use what you purchased it for. This is probably going to drive down resale values of 4xe's until this situation is resolved. This will probably be my last Jeep if Stellantis still owns the brand in the future. Unfortunately, I see a Class Action Lawsuit in the horizon soon against Stellantis for this issue, so if they don't extend the warranty on their own, it'll be ordered upon them. My spouse used to work for a car warranty company and took calls from jeep owners. The biggest complaints they got was water leaks in the cab. Claims were always denied.
As much as I love my 4xe it is disappointing how Jeep is handling this. But how they handled my warranty situation last year was foreshadowing and was an insight of how stelantis is running their ship. Unless jeep has major changes, it will be my jeep that’s new or close to it. Now there is a lot more competition in the hybrid off-road segment.
Jeeps have been in our family for 20 years. How they are handling (or lack there of) the situation doesn't make me want to jump in their EV's next. I had my eye on the Wagoneer S EV but really need to reconsider. What would be the situation on that, can't charge it (aka can't drive it). I understand recalls happen, I understand they can be inconvenient, but to go months with no fix yet on top of long waits to just get into the shop... it might be a hard pass from here on out.

Well said Chris! I feel exactly the same way. The main thing I love (maybe loved) about the Wrangler is that they have always been easily repaired on the fly. I traded in a new 19’ JLUR for my 4xeR with this being my only reservation. I’m quickly (sadly) having even more doubts as time goes on. I’m not sure what the answer is though when it comes to a different brand, but the options are increasing.
Thank God I leased this paperweight and will happily turn it back over to Jeep in March. I can’t be loyal to a brand that isn’t loyal its most important assets, its customers. Sadly I am going to do the goodbye Jeep wave! It’s been nice knowing you, sort of.
Good video! I got out of my ’23 Willys 4xe after 11 months because I could see the writing on the walls. I could see continuous issues and recalls coming just from the overwhelming recalls already. When you pay upwards of $60k and more, you expect the product to perform as advertised. I can’t imagine how this is going to be in 5, 8, 10 years. I went to a full ICE Willys, and I am so happy I changed when I did. Not to mention the extra $200 for license plates to cover gas tax, that now owners are now buying a lot more of. Jeep should at least be reimbursing people for that.
My wife and I bought our 2023 Wrangler 4Xe used low mileage about 3 weeks before the recall came out. Needless to say we are not happy. We have owned several Jeeps over the last 20 years and our 2012 JKU has been so dependable that we bought a Gladiator that now has the infamous Pentastar 3.6 lifter tick and the 4Xe that we can’t charge.
I have to ask, how long does the NHSTA let a safety issue fester before they actually get involved, or don't they actually get involved? On a brighter note, I am glad to see you involved, and look forward to your videos. Thank you
I agree I love my 4xe and I have no issues with mine but after all of this I'm done with Jeep. First and last! How do you have a recall and disregard the remedy! They want us to get stuck with fixing it.
It’s a great vehicle, just the drivetrain you chose unfortunately is the issue. I really really wanted the 4xe myself and wanted it to work for a multiple of reasons. I’ve left myself to buy a rubicon recon x in the near future with any of the three other engine options. Undecided on which yet.
I love my '22 Rubicon 4xe. This is my first Jeep. If we get no remedy and extended warranty, or some sort of reasonable compensation, this will certainly be my last Jeep and i wont ever buy another product from Stellantis. You make an excellent point on this video thats on all of our minds.
I have a factory lifetime warranty on my Jeep and Stellantis refuses to either fix my (now) unmarketable vehicle or replace it. Stellantis did nothing to insure parts would be available to repair older vehicles.
I grew up in Idaho respecting the Jeep brand as a tough and capable vehicle that was the epitome of off-road prowess. I have owned several Jeep products over the years, but never the ultimate symbol of pure Jeep capability; the Jeep Wrangler. I have a Toyota Tundra for towing needs. For daily commuting, I went from a 4Runner, to a Volvo XC60, and finally to a Wrangler UL 4xe a month ago. I bought the 4xe because it was heavily discounted and promised increased efficiency. I traded in a 2013 Volvo XC60 R-Design with 335hp and averaged 22 mpg on my daily commute. So far, I am averaging 20.6 mpg with the Jeep. The power is there when I punch it, so am happy with the performance. But the daily commute driving has been disappointing. I commute 14 miles to work on a rural 2-lane highway with a 55mph limit. With a 100% charge and set on hybrid mode, by the time I get to work 14 mile later, I am at 30% charge or less. Getting off work and headed home, I am at -1% charge before I get home. That is in hybrid mode. From a real world perspective, the 4xe makes no sense in terms of efficiency or cost savings. But I bought a Jeep Wrangler UL for more than the daily driving practicality. I bought it because it looks cool, conveys the ruggedness and outdoorsy lifestyle I live, and is a throwback to when vehicles were more capable and rugged. I love that aspect of my Jeep. The cramped driving area, the loud hardtop, bouncy ride, and constant steering input is what makes driving it a rewarding experience. It keeps me alive. It makes me alert and in tune with my vehicle. Driving my Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5" lift and on 35" tires keeps me alert and alive. A boring commute in a crossover is easier, but is not challenging or engaging.
@@Wrangler4XEFans Ironically, no. It's ironic because I work for a company that manufacturers electrical grid components. But no chargers on our campus,
My grandparents had a CJ7 when I was a teenager driving around their ranch, and so technically this is my first Jeep, and I got it because the wrangler reminded me of the old Jeep I would drive around.
I think the issue is two fold, over complicated drivetrain and not standing by and fixing the issue. It should have been an electric only drive wrangler with a generator extender like the new scout coming out, or trains which have proven the tech for decades! They are resting and relying on wrangler owners being loyal, like they have in the past. Period.
This is different, of course, but this is not new to the Jeep brand. Generally speaking, Jeep is not for everyone. I've said that for years before the 4xe came along. It's not a practical vehicle - at all. Compared to the average vehicle, the Jeep is not fuel efficient, not family friendly, not comfortable, noisy, rough, etc. The 4xe is even more specific if you look at it as the type of hybrid that it is. The difference is, to me, this one could be out to get you and/or your property. This one, at this time, isn't what was advertised or was sold to the driver. #adventurevehicle #quitetheadventure
What about right now if someone wants to trade this in. The hit that they take if they want to move into a 24 4xe or ICE version needs to be considered. If I wanted to get into a ICE version it would be more for me to do it. Still think that because of the issue not being a simple repair and that the entire battery should be replaced then jeep needs to replace the entire battery. 39 more days until the end of Q4 to announce the solution.
@@Eric-qq7zw I know of one person that tried to trade theirs in right now and they were given a way super low offer because of this. But then other people have received pretty good offers through Carvana.
I just called the NHTSA regarding 24V-720 Safety Recall, Stellantis Recall 95B. I was told the NHTSA requires quarterly reports from the manufacturer. I mentioned according to my phone call to FCA US LLC I was told that a fix will be in place by end of 4th quarter 2024. I asked what recourse I have if a fix is not available by years end 2024, and I was told I could file a complaint, and today if I wanted he could provide a reference number for my call, if I wanted to wait until years end. I asked for a reference number which I hope makes it easier to file a complaint and he provided one. Thanks for listening to my ramble.
I leased a Sahara for 6 months. Decided to buy a Rubicon 4xe. After everything I have gone through in the last 2 years, I will not only never buy a Jeep again, but I will never buy a vehicle from FAC/Stellantis ever again.
8:36 or not being able to trade it in for a reasonable price when the time comes. Well said, Chris. Ha, Idk if I've mentioned it yet, but with the way things have been going, I've definitely thought "What happens to this YT channel & FB FAN group if its die-hard founding member becomes...NOT a fan??" I appreciate you. And I signed the petition.
This is our first Jeep product (22Grand Cherokee) and it's been nothing but recalls and problems. We are part of this recall and in addition to the battery recall. It's been in the shop for heated seat issues for weeks. The latest is a new wiring harness on backorder. I have owned pretty much every other vehicle manufacture and Jeep has been far worse than any of them. Buy a plug-in hybrid, but you can't charge it and oh by the way it could catch fire so park away from your house. Really Jeep? I have no choice but to look somewhere else after this experience.
I have owned multiple Jeeps with their own issues, but the 4XE issues that came up makes me glad I turned it in at lease end. Mine had one recall and it was turned in while the first stop charge recall was in effect. I will look at the Recon but in all honesty I will wait some time to watch for issues before any purchase decisions are made. My past vehicle issues never took this long or were so uncertain but I can say if they had been that another Jeep would be a hard sell.
just talked to our Jeep dealer and asked them if they knew anything more about the 95b fix and the only answer I got was hope to have some news by years end. We own 2 of these a 23 with the recall and a 24 that so far doesn't need fixed yet. I have lost all respect for this brand. They better do more than just fix the problem. They need to make us all whole. Winter is here and we cant park in the garage, we need someone like Ralph Nader to get involved
First vehicle I ever drove was a jeep (wagoneer). Owned jeeps for 30 years including multiple family members and between my wife and I have owned jeeps since 97. Last year bought a 2020 GC and a 2023 GC 4xe as my wife wanted EV/PHEV and I wanted capability of a jeep. We have been happy with the vehicles but this issue has been unacceptable. Appreciate the one and done crowd, but stellantis might also want to consider those who have been loyal to the brand for years and will leave and never come back if this is not handled well. Jeep/Stellantis: Do the right thing and fix this!
This churn is a real thing, and for all sorts of reasons within all brands. Around a decade ago or so I owned 3 Subarus. When I saw the way that brand treated TFL and tried to get them to sensor themselves, as an American who understands and values my freedom of speech I began selling off my Subarus and I will never buy from the brand again. You are 100% right. Let's hope Jeep rights this ship immediately.
This is excellent analysis of what is wrong with jeep. But it's only touching the surface. Take a look at the Jeep Wranglers by stellantis and the corrosion issue and the recalls on the manual transmission. It is a company that literally is driving Chrysler Jeep into the ground. The Stellantis CEO solution to everything is the push even more electric vehicles even on the ram muscle cars. They are completely clueless about the auto market and our intent on driving Jeep into the ground in the Dustbin of History. I looked and strongly considered a stellantis jeep, but ended up buying a 2017 Jeep Wrangler because I didn't want to deal with all of the unresolved issues.
I absolutely love my 4xe but it's been in the shop over the past 2 months. The battery was replaced but now they're waiting on clips that were broken? I dreamt of owning a wrangler my whole life & this whole experience is disappointing
First and least jeep. Willing to pay the lease off early and turn it in. And get something else. Before all this I might have even bought it out. I’ve enjoyed it when it worked and wasn’t in the shop. Love the power. Wish I had 10 more miles of range. Just they have failed to sell me
reality of it is - it is jeep owners who needs to make tough decision, not Stelantis. Stelantis is doing fine according to their numbers and this is only thing they care about. Jeep owners need to realize that 4xe is not same kind of wrangler as TJ or JK that would nor depreciate as fast as other cars and will be easy to maintain and fix. Introduction of hybrid tech and price range of 50K+ moved jeep to same category as luxury vehicles that depreciates a lot and expensive to maintain and fix. So when warranty runs out - trade it in for your next ride (whatever it is) and eat depreciation cost. This is my plan - I am going to keep my 4xe till end of warranty and then switch to next (jeep or toyota). And I am sure my old JK will still be running :)
Regarding and correcting a known issue. I found this on the internet: "According to NHTSA regulations, there is no specific timeframe set for how long a car manufacturer has to correct a safety problem, meaning they are required to address safety defects for an "unlimited period" once notified, although they are generally expected to act promptly and provide a free remedy within a reasonable time frame."
I suppose that Iam the loyal customer. This is my 5th Jeep. 2 Libertys, 3rd Wrangler. It’s working out for me so far. If in the future I have to switch to a Bronco, I’ll likely never come back.
One of my close friends loves my Jeep 4xe. He has been looking for a deal on one to purchase. I told him about my recall notice and his first reaction was to just say, nope... I'm not getting one because of that issue. I actually would like to get into a new Jeep but not a hybrid. I have looked into trading but have been told that I am unable to trade it in at this point because it is against the law to do so while under recall. I am also under the impression that I am incredibly far upside down in my lease because of this. I just feel like I'm not going to win this one and will likely not go back to a Jeep for my next vehicle. At least not a new one. I may buy a used one and work on fixing it up. Who knows? Thanks for leading the charge here Chris... (pun intended) Pat
Couldn't be more accurate! I will be exiting if I can get out with few months left on lease without being upside down I'm out... If not I will turn it in at least end and walk. Bummer. My first and last wrangler.
I had a Wrangler Rubicon 4XE and sold it just before all this recall nightmare happened. I loved the Wrangler, ended up buying a Tesla Model Y, which is a very different kind of fun, and the leadership (or at least leader) of Tesla certainly has its controversies, but the ownership experience of the Tesla has been flawless. The leadership is definitely an issue, ownership experience is a huge deal, and you can have bad ownership of a company, but the vehicle and ownership experience is a big big deal. I don’t trust the Wrangler 4XE or the company anymore, and that’s an issue. Chris, you have been a tremendous asset to the company with the Facebook group and this channel, but that was part of the issue. Dealers and even top executives haven’t understood these vehicles for years, and the company never caught up in their knowledge to what customers have known. Now owners are paying the price for the company never being able to catch up. Without you, Chris, these vehicles never would have been understood by tens of thousands of owners. Thanks for continuing to advocate for those owners.
I am surprised that the media hasn’t really been aware of of the 95B recall and the fires happening to gas and PHEV 2021 through 2023 Wranglers and Gladiators. Strong media campaign would maybe help Stellantis do the right thing by us.
Huge mistake buying this. First time Jeep buyer. Paid it off a few months ago. 2023 Rubicon 4xe. Now, value plummets and check engine light came on yesterday so going to dealer today. So disappointed in Jeep. Do something for your customer or I be not be another customer again.
Jeep has so much potential but Stellantis has run the ship a ground, if there was ever a master class on how to screw up an American automotive iconic brand classes in session & your professor is Carlos Tavares! Europeans do not understand the American market. They are severely out of touch. Just look at Dodge. They removed the Challenger and Charger for almost a year and a half & have nothing to sell the consumer that was buying them, essentially losing an entire customer base for EV hopes & dreams that has them on the verge of financial collapse
Does this apply to brand new vehicles, do the brand new ones have a better battery system? Is there an aftermarket battery available down the road? Seems like hit or miss, some people love it and few problems, others months in the dealers and lemmon law. Can you confidently purchase this vehicle? Is it fixable?
We have a 2023 GC Trailhawk 4xe, 15k miles working as advertised (cant charge of course), wifes really likes it but this battery recall and the way Stellantis is handling this is unaceptable, this is our first Jeep, always had Hondas and Toyotas.... this could be our last Jeep, deeply dissapointed with the brand.
I don’t see how folks can buy jeeps after 2006, unless it’s 392 motor (and that’s iffy). Same for Bronco; crap motor; should have put the Coyote in it.
I am extremely disappointed in how this whole situation is being handled. The values have been hit so hard I can’t get rid of it. I won’t ever buy another unless they step up and take care of this.
What about long time Jeep owners that are done being jeep owners? I've been a Jeep wrangler owner for fifteen years, but I think that unless something changes this will be my last Jeep.
Our dealership has had 3 customers with 4xe that were 2023 and traded them in for 2024 Jeep Wranglers with 3.6 engine. At my doctors office a young lady that purchased a 2023 Mustang Mach E waited 2 mouths to get her vehicle fixed. She traded it in for a 2024 Regular Ford Mustang. I've been with the Jeep Wrangler since 1995 and this year I purchased a special ordered 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X treme and would own nothing else!! Yanni
@@tml184 Many people are. I have no idea what liabilities we assume if we announce on social media that we are still charging. To me, it’s not worth the risk of having a homeowners claim denied if I burn my garage down and they connect the dots. I’d like to talk to a lawyer to find out more about that.
They can afford to fix this. They just don't want to. "Stellantis posts record profit, revenue in 2023 Breana Noble The Detroit News Feb 15, 2024 Higher pricing fueled Stellantis NV to a record $20 billion (18.6 billion euro) net profit in 2023, an increase of 11% from 2022." I reached out to the ceo and I asked why those contracted with the captive finance arm of Jeep, are still charging for the car. Moreover, there grand Cherokee has an open recall. I have both. The only Jeep I am sticking with is our LJ. These fiats can’t go back fast enough. This illustrates where globalization is bad. The fact that a foreign company and foreign bank can force an American consumer to pay for a car that doesn’t work and our govt shows no teeth, illustrates where we are as consumers. Legally speaking every single unit can be submitted for lemon law given no response. Santander is Chrysler financial. The only thing American in this are the people getting ripped off by a foreign company. Too expensive, unreliable, and dealerships where the mechanics can’t fix new cars because the technology is beyond their skills. I wouldn’t recommend Jeep to North Korea. They have it bad enough. I am going to do the paper work myself in NJ. Don’t need a lawyer for the judge to demand they buy it back. In fact the campaign should be called. buy it back.
Have you Americans ever heard of Global Warming? Your gas-guzzling American cars need to evolve to the 21st century and follow fuel efficient European designs. That includes your Jeep. Case closed.
Well...if your going to get rid of your jeep then DO IT!!! I'm sick and tired of all the crying about it. Don't buy another one. Go get a Tesla or some other vehicle. Same comments over and over.😢
Jeep started to take itself way too seriously since the JK. Jeep needs to go backwards in order to go foreward and have a future. The environmental wokism is killing EVERYTHING that our (grand)parents build, including the companies. The CO2 problem has long be debunked as is the cl^mate change narrative yet we stay on that path WHY!? Even the Jeep 4.0 straight six is less tolling on the environment due to the energy it takes to build an EV. Not to mention the cobalt mining and disposal of old battery packs and all the issues these cars have that need companies and energy to fix them. A 4.0 runs 250K without any issues only maintanence, an EV is the shop (that runs on the energy grid) for repairs every few months.
The 4xe is junk. And as for trade in and resale they will be worth nothing but parts. When the batteries start needing replacement after the warranty is over, who will want them. Some company should come out with a kit to convert them back to all ice. At least then they can still be used for something.
@@peterkennedy5596 It would require a lot of reconfiguring. Both motor/generators would have to be removed which would also require a new transmission. You’d have to add an alternator. At that point, you’re left with a 2.0 turbo only. So the power reduction would be pretty substantial. If I was going that far, I’d just do an engine swap for something bigger.
I suggested this as well. Yea your giving up the power but if you can have a more reliable Jeep and the cost to retrofit is far less then a v-8 upgrade then this helps dealers when they need to sell these used

Ours first too. Done after this is sorted out
I love my '22 Rubicon 4xe.
@@treyveston7965 Can you charge at work? That could be a real game changer.
They also had a Ford Bronco, but my grandmother was very protective of that, so I rarely got to drive it.

Tavares is a lame duck. You are right, nobody is filling the void and making the tough leadership decisions .
I am first time and now last time Jeep wrangler owner .
8:36 or not being able to trade it in for a reasonable price when the time comes.
Well said, Chris. Ha, Idk if I've mentioned it yet, but with the way things have been going, I've definitely thought "What happens to this YT channel & FB FAN group if its die-hard founding member becomes...NOT a fan??"
I appreciate you. And I signed the petition.
@@MJXtube I’m still a fan. I just think Jeep can do better.
This 24 4xe is my first wrangler, like it a lot,my wife has a 2nd grande Cherokee, when they are done i think we are done, not worth the risk
Can you imagine or think of a way to get this to National Media?
@@Seasonspass33 So true.
Just they have failed to sell me
Go to a lemon law attorney and get all of your money back!!!
I’m so glad I leased. I get to say FU and watch them lose big money when I give it back. Every owner should start lawsuits now.
reality of it is - it is jeep owners who needs to make tough decision, not Stelantis.
@@henrikhkarpynskyi8712 For sure. I think a lot of people are making that exact decision to just move on.
(pun intended)
Pat
Tesla? Meh.
@ It’s not a Wrangler replacement. I agree. I’m no fanboy, but the ownership experience has been flawless.
Reality is Jeep is broke. You are expecting something that isn't there. Even if they had good intentions the money just isn't there....
@@XXPS60 But Samsung has PLENTY of cash on hand and they are part of this issue.
I am surprised that the media hasn’t really been aware of of the 95B recall and the fires happening to gas and PHEV 2021 through 2023 Wranglers and Gladiators. Strong media campaign would maybe help Stellantis do the right thing by us.
It's all on purpose. My state farm rep said ...WHAT!! They are verifying if these will be insurable.
Jeep needs to part ways with the battery manufacturer and use a different battery manufacturer

I reached out to the ceo and I asked why those contracted with the captive finance arm of Jeep, are still charging for the car.
4XE are junk
Have you Americans ever heard of Global Warming? Your gas-guzzling American cars need to evolve to the 21st century and follow fuel efficient European designs. That includes your Jeep. Case closed.
They don’t believe in science and need very large vehicles. Look who they just elected president…
Well...if your going to get rid of your jeep then DO IT!!! I'm sick and tired of all the crying about it. Don't buy another one. Go get a Tesla or some other vehicle. Same comments over and over.😢
All i keep hearing is all talk and no action. Ive already read that a lawsuit against jeep is in progress. Great!!!
Where do I sign up ?
Jeep has never been good…
Stellantis, crap!
