    In reality if it would help anyone it would be better if you measured the length of the dipstick that way if somebody needed to check their flood level on the spot without buying a dipstick they could stick a thin piece of metal down in there to the right length and get a decent reading because going out and buying an aftermarket dipstick just isn't feasible of an on the spot check ...that's my opinion... I don't know why they done that in the first place I hate engineers they are about the goofiest people on the planet

    I have a 2008 Dodge Caliber. I bought the same exact dipstick you have. I checked the fluid and it said 110. The chart says max level is 48, so isn't 110 too high? Or, am I supposed to convert the 110 millimeter to another number? I just bought the Caliber from a car lot and that's where they have the level.

      I posted this video so that people would know to identify the amount of fluid in their CVT transmission prior to conducting a repair that would cause fluid to leak out. If you don't know how much fluid you started with, then you've already missed the first step in identifying how much you need to replace.

    • @novasketch8658
      @novasketch8658 5 лет назад

      Well drain out the system, the caliber only holds 7.4 quarts of total fluid, so you'll wanna let the rest of the fluid out, then identify how much came out once you drained the fluid, whatever that number is put it back in, and keep filling it back up until you get to that level that you need. Optimal level with that dipstick is 36. Keep in mind to do all the proper steps to ensure you do it correctly. He is wrong about not being impossible, it onlu adds a couple extra steps. And if you ive fill it there's a drain bolt on the side of the transmission, use that to drain the amount of fluid necessary to get it to the proper level

    • @novasketch8658
      @novasketch8658 5 лет назад

      Preferably do it off, and you can add the fluid through the same access point that he shows in the video. Thats not just for the dipstick use. That's for checking fluid level and adding fluid in.

  • @DannyGruesome
