When John was with the Chicago Loop they opened for Mitch Ryder, and provided the backup rhythm section for Mitch’s show. I was the trombone player in that backup band and got to know and play with John. (1967) His guiding drummer was Hal Blaine and he measured up to that. I liked and respected John a lot. His work after Mitch with Buzzy Linhart (album “Music”) is also very nice. R.I.P.
John was one of my best friends! He was an EMT and I was a Paramedic in Brooklyn EMS station 33 together. I was the ONLY one he would tell stories to of his past, and I hold them and him dear to my heart! He shared stories of him and John Bonham bonding as drummers on a tour with Zeppelin. They found solace in a bottle and drum sticks. Growing up idolizing these musicians and then having a deep friendship with one of them was amazing! I loved him like a brother, and I always knew it was reciprocal. I miss you John! I miss you so much! It was an honor just to call you my friend!
Product of Chicago's NWside. Stienmetz HS grad. I remember when he made fun of my long hair when he was still a 'greaser'......then things changed over night for him. RIP
❤ Met John in Nebraska (April 6, 1968 ) when he was touring with Mitch Ryder. I was with the "Sue Charles Dancers " out of Chicago. Spent a very memorable time with him. Great guy , awesome drummer, much respect John. You are not forgotten ❤ 3:01
Fantastisch! Ik had zowat vergeten dat ik 'Peter Frampton Comes Alive' hier nog op vinyl heb liggen. Er zit vast wel een nummertje tussen dat zich leent voor 'n bascovertje. Groet, Jaap
John Siomos was indeed an amazing drummer. Listening to Frampton Comes Alive, I soon realized this was no ordinary drummer. He had something else going on here. He can hold a beat for 18 mins while incorporating dynamics during a drawn-out live version that Peter was known to do. An example; Do you feel Like we Do. The man had an incredible style, a very intricate player to the fullest and perhaps one of the most under-rated drummers of the '70's.
My base pedal is my favourite part of rhe drumkit, so to speak. And i want to hear that in my recording over the original recording. Only serieus drummers can hear the difference, like you as it seems. Glad you don't reject it ; )

I love how John used his hit hat a lot.
Siomos had a personal groove. He had his yourself musical signature. Only.
John, batera com estilo único. Groove maravilhoso.

"Doobie Wah" - guess what? The Doobies en Frampton spelen momenteel aan de East coast samen :-)
your right foot sounds a tad busier than his was on the SH track, but I think it sounds better
That is a great compliment. And you are right. I can not help it with my
