When ever I hear Sendico my brain goes Retro Future since Elliot often uses it.
same
Yeahh
I do love Japanese tech!
@@TheRetroFuture
👉👉There he is.
I think retro future too when I hear sendico
I'm loving how Austin keeps hiding things he owns LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
actually what Austin done here is tax evasion
Where I live if you use company funds to buy stuff for you it is illegal. Profits are different obviously but are subject to taxation Austin would be going to jail if he lived where I do at worst or losing his business and fined at best.
@@axlefoley6330 yeah I bet you don't own the company though right
This is SO funny! I hope you place in the special Olympics this year
@@psychopopdesign naw man I could never take your spot.
Such a sick video! You bought some really lovely things. Love the Casio Loopy and the GameBoy Light!
I love watching your vids
You've gotta come to Japan and do a retro game hunt. It's absolutely surreal and incredible seeing thousands of old games all lined up in box for 5$, 10$, 20$, and so on. The first time I went out, I thought every game had to be fake or something because there's no way there's like 5 mint copies of pokemon silver in box for 16$ each. It's crazy
One of my friends had PSX but we still used normal PS2 to play games because when we loaded a disc that was suposed to bypass pirated games, it didnt work in PSX for some reason and we used PS2 Slim instead... Good old days imma tell ya that... After school going to a friends home and play games, it was a blast...
Now let me tell you. I had a PS2 for a long time. But I have always wanted a PSX
Most psx consoles the reader inside would stop working
Crazy how nowadays you can just emulate PS2 on an Android phone. My LG G8 is like a 4 year old phone that runs like 90% of the PS2 games on AetherSX2.
It's probably on the latest DVD firmware, probably wouldn't work with most hacks.
I've used Sendico a lot in the past, was put onto it by Elliott from Retro Future. It's a really great place if you're an anime/manga/video game collector. I've picked up nearly new manga volumes for less than a $1 each. They same translated volumes sell locally for about $15-$25. It can be very confusing though, it's not you're normal online shopping experience. You have to be committed to your purchase, because everything is done in stages, including payment, which normally involves 2 or 3 transactions (one for purchasing the item, one for packaging, one for shipping etc).
I mean I've definitely thought about using it but you have to be very realistic about what it all entails. Sadly there aren't too many easy ways to bid on things and get them shipped anywhere into the western hemisphere or elsewhere. So you kind of have to take an opportunity like this for what it is.
@@JohnDoe-wq5euexactly. Little more difficult but easier than most stuff
On my screen The Retro Future commented right above you 😊
Ken: "are you stealing company property?"
Also Ken majority of the time: **YOINK** imma just "borrow" this
😂😂
Love this video! Please continue to do this segments and expand to more japan unique tech like laptops, bikes, electronics, portable monitor etc
Sendico is a pretty cool service.
You just have to be incredibly realistic about the cost of shipping times etc.
Once you get past that in the other little hurdles you have to deal with it's pretty cool.
I still say that it is a travesty that the west never got the PSX because I have always wanted one in place of a traditional PS2 - Its such a neat little footnote in video game and console history. My local hobby shop had one about 5 years ago in near mint condition for nearly $600 but it had been region hacked so it was effectively fully functional.
There's some mods you can do to the PSX DVR, FMCB works and you can convert the XMB from Japan -> English also. Good haul overall!
Keep up the good work austin
Wait what? The Casio Loopy shouldn't need the converter. Japan is NTSC standard and the Loopy is NTSC-M composite.
yeah he could've blown the cartridge before ordering the converter
Agree. These youngsters have no idea that the television still gives an image through composite, even if it’s not supported, it just out of scan synch and/or black and white. And if your tv has composite in and it’s not 30 years old then it 99% supports ntsc
Yeah i was so confused about this did the loopy come from EU? Lol
I was thinking that too bc I live in the us and my super Famicom works fine on US tvs
Somehow none of the people in the room knew this lmao
I need more of this specific content
1:29 Oh hey, it's the old glossy Mew card! I got one on ebay maybe 15 years ago. Still have it in a binder somewhere.
i love have ken always find a way to mention the fire 😂😂
18:10 Damn that kinda bops, but i can't seem to find a full version of it
There was a Game Gear adapter you could slot in and watch regular TV. I don't know if those can still be found but that would be pretty cool to have on there
You should make a video of you guys fixing up the PSX! Though the CD might have gotten damaged with that grinding noise 💀
I still have my gamegear, but haven't used it in forever. Need to check the prices, and will probably consider selling mine.
we have seen japanese mystery tech before
back in 2019 when austin still said "hey guys this is Austin"
Love Austin Vids!
The front port on the PSX isnt firewire. Its a dv port most likely for importing things from digital cameras and camcorders
Gonna wanna consider checking and probably updating the capacitors on that Game Gear.
Mod the Swan! The backlight kit is super easy to install, and it'd make a great video or short
After the Stadia "review" backlash, Austin and co. retreat to the land of the rising sun as wanted international fugitives
did i miss something?
@@littlekitten4147right, I’m wondering what he means
Been waiting for the psx video
this is why i recommend japanese sites and shippers for ppl who wanna get into retro collecting cuz its much much more of a sane and reasonable market then the one scammers in the us built its why most of the imports here are reasonably priced plus the stock in japan lasts longer so less bs excuses of hey its less produced so we gotta sell a controller or game for 200$ when I can get it here for 10$
I saw the middle thing in Austin's chast, I was like what is this??? Then he showed us. Ahh I see... Take it off lol
8:08 I actually don't think blowing did anything, but rather, Austin just inserted the cart AFTER turning the DS on, which doesn't really work. Meanwhile, Ken turned the DS on after putting the cart in
You were lucky to find a PSX that still works. The hard drive has failed on most of them, and without a hard drive, it won't even boot. The HDD is encrypted, so once that dies, the console is pretty much useless, there is no way to get it working again without a backup of the HDD from before it failed.
I would make a full image of that HDD as soon as possible, so when the drive inevitably dies, you can put the image onto a new drive.
thanks Austin! that was fun video also that FF console
4:09 I'm watching on that exact TV I think I need an upgrade 😂
The first time I used sendico I also bought a psx, two in fact! Cost me an arm and a leg with the weight and when it came the same problem happened to me! The soluction I came up with was to mod the psx because the main laser wasnt working so it couldnt check what the disc was, and with the mod it just skipped it and played the disc right away! I recommend you guys do the same!
My main laser is also dead. If I boot the console with the game in and a freemcboot card in the console it boots the game just fine. Notoriously unreliable console but a cool piece of tech. Just hope my hard drive never dies.
I was holding off on getting another pxs after selling my first one. I even have brand new lasers for it if I wanted to fix one up, yes people it has two lasers.
Austin one of the best in our time
I honestly love seeing a wonderswan! I have the final fantasy wonderswan with the final fantasy logo on it!
As a massive Pokemon fan, I had no idea Austin was a fan too lol. And I def didn't expect to see 151 in this video!
I remember PSX back as a kid and thought it was a fever dream. No one I talked to about it had ever heard of it and thought I was lying lol.
I remember as a kid I would play my gameboy color under my sheets with the wiggly light till 2am when I was supposed to get up the next day for school. This was before wifi, cell phones, etc.
I love that Ken chose Auto Modellista to try on the PSX, although you guys could have gone with Gran Turismo 3 or 4 ^^
This seems like a nice store to import from Japan, I use Rakuten to purchase and import stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh cards, music cds, videogames and accesories to México
@AustinEvans
A great follow-up video would you retro-brighting that WonderSwan. Do your research, find the method you feel most comfortable with and make a video of it! I use the H2O2 vapor method, but you do you.
I’ve gotten a few things from Japan ands it’s always been immaculate and packed amazingly well.
Flaming Austin for that fire is cold. Almost as cold as the water the firefighters used
Taking the cart out and putting it in multiple times is what makes it work. It helps to clean the contacts. Blowing in carts does nothing but make the contacts corrode.
11:31 damn they still remember that I don't think Austin wanted to remember that tragic day
I want to see Austin buy a Japan-exclusive arcade machine from Sendico XD
If he buys an Ongeki/maimai/Chuni machine, even better
Austin with the pov cam looks like some budget, knock off Tony Stark
Love these videos
I use sendico consistently and have had over 100+ parcels with them in the last 2 years
Austin hope for the best for you, your family, and the team, yes including denki 😂😂
Note shipping from japan is free on most ebay items but you might pay import fees a couple bucks
Honestly, finding a broken PSX is a lot more common than finding one that fully works. The PSX is a notoriously faulty device with basically every component having common issues. Luckily for you only the Disc Drive seems to be the only issue and that can be fixed, but the system is prone to failures with the Hard Drive, Power Supply, cooling due to terrible thermal design and even the board failing entirely. It's a miracle that it even turns on to be bonest.
Used to work at ToysRUs here in the states. That Geoffrey joke got me good.
Good stuff man 😊😊😊😊
PSX’s are known to break like crazy. The disc drive always goes out. It’s actually extremely rare to find one in good working condition and they normally cost a ton. It is cool to have the XMB bar on the PS2 though, but not worth the cost.
Damn Ken you didn't have to do Austin like that
They should do a video on cex from the uk
8:36 the way bro sounded so terrified ☠
all game gears has a problem with a screen, wich u can fix by soldering a few of capacitors. and yes, the screens were bad :D but u can fix original screen, or just replace it to modern one
"The next best thing", ayo Austin!
I remember my sister having the silver Gameboy Lite with a copy of Pokemon Blue. We played that thing for years until we lost it in 2012 or 13
i find it hard to believe hes never seen a loopy before. theres been vids on that console on here for decades.
Ken has been making a lot more fire jokes lately lmao
One thing about Japanese is they keep their items in good condition. The resale market is huge, so they buy with the thinking to resell later.
I remember the Game gear being able to be doubled as a Genesis remote too.
Loved this episode, let’s go sendico mystery teeeechhhh
TheFBI Open up sounded so realistic my heart dropped
I'm pretty sure the PSX was discontinued because many of them had trouble being both a video game console and DVR in 1. I could be thinking of a different console but it makes sense if it was this 1. They learned from their mistakes and didn't put all those features in the PS2.
Loved this
As a hardcore Final Fantasy fan, I am envious of Austin, probably for the first time ever..... I didn't even know that wondrous one existed and I need it
FYI the console is named "WonderSwan".
Supposedly the name is a reference to the handheld's curved design.
Our PSX lives at my mother in law’s in Kumamoto. I used it for DVDs. I couldn’t get the American games to run in it.
Austin never makes bad videos
Ashens has a video all about the Casio Loopy if you are interested! c:
I still have my game gear somewhere around. I absolutely loved it! & I had the entire original collection of Pokemon. I sold them a long time ago for a couple hundred bucks. I so wish I held onto them 😔
The house on fire part was out of pocket 😂
We need more of these videos, but also featuring similar sites like Buyee
I had a game gear growing up and I loved it.
By tech from Jamaica and Turkey. In Jamaica Sega Genesis is still number one system. In Turkey similar story but they also have remade Sega Nomad for portable and smartphone. *edit also GamePark32!
Austin you should do a mystery macari tech video that would be cool
No but design-wise, that wonderswan looks so cool. It immediately reminded me of the GBA
Austin, where did you get that duck shirt? I've been dying to get hands on it but don't know where to find it online
The psx also has component output to the serial converter
Aw I love the pov cam lol
Please more of this japanese videos.
Feels weird to have Sendico segment without Elliot Coll (Retro Future) 🤣
Ken wearing the Summer Wars shirt made me hit the like button.
You should do a mystery tech with products from microcenter
10:07 back in the 90's I had the gameboy and my neighbor had the black sega gamegear with that same sonic game, I remember being blown away by the lighted screen and playing sonic portably. Wow that brought back great memories! ❤
Mistery tech here we goo this should be fun 😂
15:03 so a little better screen than a $1000 bike gps then.
At least it's 75.4Hz.
Yes the PSX!, I own two myself, Working of course. 😉
If your planning on using the PSX, please use a freeMCBoot mem card or at least backup the HDD. 2000s hdd arent known for longevity.
Shoutout to Ken for being a cultured man and acknowledging that Auto Modellista is one of the greatest racing games ever. I'm still hoping for a remaster or something 😔
As soon as I saw the Game gear, it reminded me of the movie Surf Ninjas. 😂
4:58 I think I used to have that rexbot
(:
Dang the throwback to the fire 😢
The PSX disc drive had a high rate of failure and is really hard to fix. Even at 900 bucks it was prone to fail.
16:13 bro i knew he would say that
