Thanks for sharing. You are right this this the biggest piece of junk I. The x5 is fir 5 year warranty, mine broke in 6 months. They refused to fix it. So I've purchased many tools like a cabinet saw drill press etc. None are or ever will be delta.
Great thank you for the info, mine was given to me, I never used it, and the little flat bearering seized, so when tried to turn it today, broke some teeth on the gears, so thank you for tge info, I know what to look for to fix it now,
Make sure the four vertical rods are properly aligned. Mine were not and it did the same thing yours is doing. I loosened the bolts holding the rods at the pulleys and used the plate attached to the tops of the rods to help them find the proper locations. Then tighten the bolts and the cranking action should operate smoothly. This worked for me when my posts got knocked out of alignment. the miter gears started skipping teeth. That might be your problem. Good luck.
Thanks. I have this same POS and I concur with your assessment. I just get a lot of clicking noise now and haven't had the desire to look at it. I had it in the shop twice and the "pros" were unable to fix it permanently. I babied it with very light passes and a fairly loose feed belt so the belt slips rather than force something through it and still it got to the point where I couldn't lower or raise the bed. Just a worthless piece of garbage. Looking to replace with a Woodmaster industrial strength tool once I get room in my shop. I guess with this class of tool, it's better to pay and get the big machine or accept working on keeping it running. Thanks again.
Sucks how a POS plastic gear can ruin everything all for Delta to save a few bucks. On top of the its in the worsts place possible. Delta schmelta dumazz engineering.
