      I think what Levy's talking about is the fact that Ian blitzed out 25 moves of prep before finally going for a flank pawn attack.

    Ian's knight at the end is a monster:
    it protects all of his 3 remaining pawns; it attacks 2 of Ding's pawns and the bishop; and it can be used for a mating attack or to defend against pawn pushes.

      ​​@@user-te7rf8ik7z If you think about it they all lose from 1 slight inaccuracy-blunder-mistake (Magnus making the fewest mistakes). Ian may start to tire out after game 7 if Ding strikes back. They are literally on same level so all it takes is 1 inaccuracy and it can be a wrap.

    Nepo didn't "finally think". Ding got up from the board to go take a break, and Nepo waited for him with his own clock running. Man out there playing bullet vs Ding and beat him anyway. It was savage.

    crazy how Ian's opening theory and gameplan applied so much pressure and how that pressure was MAXIMIZED between moves 35 and 40. really truly excellent strategic metagame to put Ding in the most critical position when he had the least amount of time to defend

    I can't help imagine this as troop movements and armies. I just love the concept of a general who has thought of every single interaction for the first quarter of the battle while the brilliant tactician he's against just does his best on the backfoot but is clearly struggling.

    Such high level chess. In moments where Levi mentions that this was a strong move, it is not a clear advantage from the moment the move gets played. That eval bar moves so minimally as well. Love to see it, even though I understand it very little haha.

    This game was just insane. Props to levy for making this video and understanding all the tactics. He’s a strong chess player too with the only thing holding him back being intimidation and the downward spiral that comes from it. He deserves the title GM he just needs to earn it.

    Can't believe I'm saying this, I'm happy for nepo. I'm glad he didn't just crumble like last year. That's huge for him.
    I also agree this championship should be played much sooner to avoid so much prep. It's smart because it's allowed but the style of memorizing 50 moves to gain a time advantage seems bitch. Or maybe only when nepo does it😂😂

    I think that this is the most important advantage you get at the highest level with the White pieces because you can prepare 10 engine lines and study them for the opening that you are going to play.
