In PLA, I would always imagine a random Spheal minding its own business in the coastland, squealing its name in the sand. When, suddenly, it gets squished flat by the player riding a Wyrdeer. Then, in a cartoony fashion, it pops up back into its original shape, shakes itself with a "What just happened?" look on its face, and goes back to whatever it was doing, like nothing happened.
