Really cool, Mick! Always in awe of how you turn a truly “out-there” idea into a beautiful instrument - not to mention finding incredible wood at an affordable price! Can’t wait to see the final product!

Where was I that missed this post? So cool, I never heard of an electric uke. We're now both officially lukiers.
Great job on the music too.
Love the video and the uke is going to be amazing

I've stopped the video at 1:14 to say this - what?!?!?! How did you get that walnut plank for only $10?

man. I found this wood shop 10 minutes from my house that gets in massive amounts of local trees, maple, walnut, ash, cherry etc. They mill and kiln dry them and mostly sell big piece of fancy table tops. They have tons of offcuts like this and bigger dirt cheap.
I am going to be making a lot of walnut guitars lol.

So it's a thin-line tele shaped baritone uke you're building.. I wonder where you got that idea from? Love the super deal on the walnut board for $10 Cdn.. Looks like it will come in handy on some future builds. Can't wait for the next video to drop.

That looks good. But why a ukulele and not a short-scale six string?

my old man migrated from 6 strings to ukes a few years ago. I will however be making a short scale 6 string soon for another family member!
