Dorman OPDA - Oil Leak from top of unit

After less than 1000 miles my Dorman OPDA started to leak oil out of the upper housing. The Oil leak wasn't massive, but just enough to make a mess on the side of my engine. It still functioned perfectly well and I had no engine codes, I just noticed a few drips of oil on the garage floor and traced it to the OPDA. Luckily the part has a lifetime warranty, so it was replaced under warranty.

Hey Dave- I got the same problem on my opda. It was replaced just before I got this particular LJ by a little dealer. I suspect he used the Dorman. It was fine for a few months, but started really leaking lately. Unfortunately I can't warranty it, but I thought you might want to know you aren't all alone.

Kirby Neely - thanks for the comment. Since I made this video there have been several documented catastrophic failures of Dorman OPDAs. If yours is a Dorman, I’d suggest replacing it right away with a Crown unit.
