Papaya will start dying when temperature drop below 40 degrees at night, so in the winter, just use old and unused blanket or tarp to cover it and remove in the morning. Great video and technique of trimming off leaves and keep only 1 fruit per branch. Nice!
You have been very helpful and it's a joy. Thank you for sharing your garden tips and enjoying dirt like me. I'm very new and in Florida zone 10a. My papayas I grew from a lovely neighbor that shared one with me & she moved, now I have better knowledge to care for them with your help.
I'm impressed by your produce. I planted a few trees so I would have to cut the bottom leaves, etc like what you did. Had no knowledge of that before. Thanks for sharing.
I just found your videos. They are great. I have some papaya seedlings. I will try your pinching and leaf-cutting techniques. Thank you so much for sharing them.
Thank you Sir for your videos, very informative. Lovely garden. I have just put down my papaya seeds and hope to have papayas like yours. I found your videos very helpful.
Maybe you can plant your more frost sensitive plants along the south wall. That would stop the cold north wind from hitting them, and allow radiant heat from the block wall. You could also place an automated awning on your wall below the gutter system. That could be used on really cold nights to prevent frost.
Thank You so much for such informative videos they are so helpful & I have learnt so much from you. I now have 3 Papaya Trees & they are doing so well. Cheers Denise- Brisbane Australia
Heavy water your plants BEFORE a cold snap!! Old FL grower here. Never fails. Sounds like the FEC railroad going by, so I'm guessing your in St. Lucie County, or slightly North? With Global Warming, all our Zones are going to be changed. I'm in 10A, Punta Gorda, FL. What I'd like to know is how YOU prevent the fruit wasp from ruining your crop? It's sometimes a "curse", yes!
Amazing. Thank you for the information. Can you please make a video showing how to identify which buds will become papaya fruits and which one are to be pinched off?
Your weather sound similar to mine in west central Florida. Thank you for the tip on the suckers. I didn't even notice them. I plant my seeds in pots and keep them in the porch over winter. Then plant out around February. They are fruiting well and expecting to see some yellow soon.
Hi sir. Thank you for sharing. Does the plant stop getting taller once it eat fruit? Or how can I keep it from getting taller than 3 feet or so? Thank you again.

if you put Epsom salt in fruit trees, the fruits become very sweet, from my experience. You only need to put a little bit.
