@@SlightCrescent4 like even if the visual looks bad now back then it lookt amazing and cool i would love if they just did a version where the cgi is updated to modern cgi so it looks a bit mor real image that
@@SlightCrescent4 In Dec 2018, Spiderverse did a similar approach and smashed the whole competition in that year. There's still hope for the unique and colorful visual category of films.
These actors deserve so much credit for being given a really hard environment to act in. It is literally all in their head, there's barely any real environment to interact with. In the movie they kill it though, despite all that, so major props to all the actors.
Make it two hours of people fighting in cars. No real story, just racing and fight scenes. Finally make Randall Munroe's dream come true and make a fight scene into an entire movie.
im actually surprised there isnt Bloopers for this movie... though seeing how well the actor for Speed Racer was when the Ninja screamed with him keeping Character... i can see why there might not be bloopers
Apparently the script for a second part is done but nothing else went forward. The main actor who plays Speed confirmed that. I’m kinda sad about that. Had it been a Marvel actor, the company would’ve said “the rumors are sparking. Let’s go ahead and make the movie true.” I can’t name anyone else who likes this movie as much as me. So I guess I can classify this as underrated making the chances of a sequel super slim.
I remember when this came out and me and my brother watched it thousands of times on dvd. We loved it and still have that disk, though it is scratched and distorted
I remember seeing the press conference and car reveal when they announced this movie on tv that it was in the makes. I wish they made it functioning though. Turns out it was just a shell for a movie. :(
2:49 If I was filming the movie as a speed racer, I'd be half an hour pretending that I'm driving match 5 out of the script, probably making mouth sounds like "Bruuuuuum Brum Brum! HEAAAAAAAA, EAT MY DUST!"
The green screen takes skill that's for sure. I grew up with this show and it was my favorite guilty pleasure. However, I wish it had taken on a more realistic feel. Just like ' Thunderbirds Are Go ' had great potential but missed the mark with the high CORN factor. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed some of it but a little too cartoony for me.
Today is like the 500,000th time my brother has watched this film, and I really love it, not as much as him tho- Also imagine having a role where you're a ninja and all you have to do is scream while "getting" hit by everyone-
God i hope someone finds the actual prop/dummy vehicles used here and turn them into an actual running car with the performance of its fictional counterparts, maybe even some of the gadgets too. I know there's replicas out there already but they're mostly just for show and the proportions doesn't look right
I don't care what people say, this movie was FANTASTIC!!!
ShirtyScarab554 its my very favorite movie
It’s on Netflix if you have it. I also have a DVD version
Atlas Hamilton its not on Netflix anymore
ShirtyScarab554 ya
Yeah this was my favorite movie ever and i cant watch because our dvd is lost and netflix is a butthead
I now have a new respect for actors who act in front of a green screen.
Ik this is a good mix of still fun because of both practical effects and special effects
@@babatulani6361 fr, I’d be laughing constantly due to the sheer lunacy of the make-believe environment
Holy shit this really makes you appreciate how _into it_ the actors had to be!
One of my favorite movies ever. I saw it in theaters when I was 7 years old and I still love it at the age of 17.
Gabriel Gonzalez same
Same I watch it all the time
Wish I saw it when I was 8. I first saw it when I was 23 lol :P still awesome tho!
Gabriel Gonzalez I was 13 when it came out and I watched it, now I’m 24, I love the movie but I think they can do better.
I was 6 when I saw it .... now I’m 17 🤣
These actors seem way more comfortable with the green screen work than any Star Wars production I've watched.
Because star wars was filmed in space dipshit
lmfaoooooooooo
Probably the only genuinely unique film in the last 10 years
Random User I wouldn’t go that far, but in terms of visuals there really is nothing else like it

Adde Stj the ones with obvious green screen was horrible, but the racing scenes are cool
One of the most underrated movies of our time... Hats off to the Wachowski bros and the actors for creating this masterpiece.
I think the movie is awesome, but the raw footage is hilariously awkward
The Whimsical World of the Wonderful Worthywood most raw footage in other films are
Yeah they like act so serious on camera
Part of it is the lack of a setting and props in some parts. Omg 😂
So is the movie but I still love it
Either way, it wasn't the time
It's amazing how seemless they made it, like they're consistent with the style and it works soooo well
I can’t see how they keep a straight face
They work with imagination
They are getting paid a lot of money to do just that.
That's what we call GOOD ACTING
These actors deserve so much credit for being given a really hard environment to act in. It is literally all in their head, there's barely any real environment to interact with. In the movie they kill it though, despite all that, so major props to all the actors.
Please. Make. A. Speed. Racer 2
Justin Edgar I love for a part 2 but part 1 ratings were bad 😞
Justin Edgar closest thing we got is Ready Player One
I didn't say part 1 was bad I'm just saying they need to make a part2
nahh i will feel old then
Make it two hours of people fighting in cars. No real story, just racing and fight scenes.
Finally make Randall Munroe's dream come true and make a fight scene into an entire movie.
I love this movie. 👌
Yes I'm not the only one!!!
I love it to
Wait so they made a simulation of the tracks meaning when he turns the wheel he’s genuinely reacting to the turns of track? Awesome
I think the whole rig turns and rolls based on a predetermined route (regardless of what he does on the wheel), but yeah, pretty much.
This movie need's a 4K release. Like right now!
im actually surprised there isnt Bloopers for this movie... though seeing how well the actor for Speed Racer was when the Ninja screamed with him keeping Character... i can see why there might not be bloopers
We need sequel!!!
hardi prakarti don’t we all 😢

I just rewatched this today and I want more of it
@@isabeldrilon the wachowsky bros/sis say they are working on a sequel.
This movie was legendary I’ve watched it like 200 times, I own both dvd and digital and might I say this is an amazing movie
"Wait, all of it's green screen? "
*Points gun*
"Always has been."
I want a Speed Racer 2!!!
The guy who played as Speed: Emile Hirsch wants the same thing as all of us, a sequel
"It doesn't Matter, I still lost"
The way he said that in the actual movie verse in the raw footage is just so different
13:05
In a movie with LOTS of editing and CGI, all the raw footage will always feel awkard
Also, the lack of music
1:41 omg i want that track on rfactor
Inside Line it honestly looks like they made the tracks in that shockwave game drift n burn 2: my racer, lol
(May 2020) - This movie was definitely state of the art salute to the original Speed Racer animé, the Mach-5 and family values. Thanks for this video.
I remember when this came out and me and my brother watched it thousands of times on dvd. We loved it and still have that disk, though it is scratched and distorted
wow i thought that the mach 5 always was a created by computer
People have built a custom-made Mach 5 in real life. Look it up
luca soldini I’m sure some parts were
I remember seeing the press conference and car reveal when they announced this movie on tv that it was in the makes. I wish they made it functioning though. Turns out it was just a shell for a movie. :(
I mean that’s true for the Mac6
There model has been bought and equipped with car parts to run
I honestly wanna know that track they were driving. It's a real track on what looks like rfactor
2:45 is great
Ok, nostalgia just hit me gonna rewatch speed racer again.
If you say u don’t like this movie you’re lying
Wasn't the mach 5 built on a C4 corvette chassis, pretty sure I heard that some place.
Gannonman the real life replica, yeah, but I think they just made a custom shell of the car for the movie.
I loved this movie
the most brilliant, colorful, and so much element of surprises.
2:49
If I was filming the movie as a speed racer, I'd be half an hour pretending that I'm driving match 5 out of the script, probably making mouth sounds like "Bruuuuuum Brum Brum! HEAAAAAAAA, EAT MY DUST!"
How much Green Screen do you want to use?
Director: Yes
3:53
😂😂
Bonzaiiiiiiiiiiii!
i didnt realize this movie was already 10 years old, this was my childhood movie
4:44 where is chim chim
6:16 😯
This was made when the Wachowski sisters were brothers.
Jay Smith nice helmet judge
Hardi Prakarti Thank you. I have the full costume. Took forever to get all the stuff for it.
Jay Smith awesome, Dredd has a potential to be r rated series in netflix, hope it will come true.
Has it really been that long
They're trans?!
Id really love to see a road legal mach 5
This seems so awkward because of the lack of any background sound
Best racing movie ever.
So the mach 5 is real.... i love how much effort they put in this movie
Yeah, but it doesn't run
@@charliered420 sad, would be cool see him runnin
@@Marcel0_H3nrique I believe there is an official reproduction of this car that actually runs. It's based on a 70s Corvette.
The whole set just looks like a green scree amusement park
they need to give us a sequel!
the best anime adaptation ever!
Why am I watching this at 3am, I’ve never even seen Speed Racer
You should
Please watch it. ❤️
スピードレーサー、大好き。やっぱり人以外はCGだったのですね。ラスト付近は特に好き。観客と一緒になって、GoGoって興奮しちゃう。
I will forever laugh now when I watch the movie
Not me
I saw dedications there
After seeing so much BTS of many movies
This one is cool
5:43 Wait!, they don't share screen?
Working with a chimp like that is actually kind of dangerous no matter the size, you just can’t control it or tame it
I love this movie.
2:45 me pretending im racing in my parents car
Life sized mach 5!
Love speed racer bro
I love the final race scene
This was my entire childhood, right ere.
greatest movie ever
They used rfactor to make speed seem like he's driving the car.

Part of me wonders where the full size Mach 5 prop is now.
Hopefully somewhere in a museum, the place it deserves to be.
i don't remember this movie comming out in 2008
Cool movie I like it
brian kelley really?!
i loved both the original anime and the this movie
I want a second movie :"v
I want to watch this movie again
A Speed Racer Racing Simulator would be fun.
😍😍😍😍 my childhood
woow! this movie is awesome
Would do anything for a reboot
I really liked this movie
The movie is awesome. But how they make it, i salute you.
I wonder how many here, know of Mach GoGoGo.
I dance to go sped racer go and that is there song and it is really cool.
If you are just like me and came to see Rain, then here you go 13:40
1:50 i know that was for recording the car scenes but when do we get a speed racer game looking that good.
Jeff Fuchsional there is one Nintendo
They need to make another speed racer movie but more like the cartoon. Tell the entire story about speed growing up. It would be a big hit.
What a great movie
Its hard to act well with green screen
Are you telling me it wasn't real? :(
I watched this movie so much In total I bet I watched it 50 times
*Staring Intensifies*
I knew a lot of the movie was a green screen...
But oh my God I had no idea it was literally the entire thing.
My favourite movie
Fez parte da minha infancia, amo esse filme
I love real sets too much to like this... Gotta respect the visual style though it's bold and we need that
Welp, i guess im watching speed racing tonight..
I want that car
Woah they be playing speed racer
REX, BRO WHY IS EVERYTHING SO GREEN BRO IM SCARED BRO WHERE ARE YOU REX
Where do you get this footage?
Today is like the 500,000th time my brother has watched this film, and I really love it, not as much as him tho-

I wanted to see more of Chim Chim in the behind scenes
Awesome!
There's a video in your ads
First thing thats in my head: SCRAMJET
I want that Shooting Star , (Racer X's Machine)
Probably the best live-action adaptation of an anime series until we got Alita: Battle Angel.
Quite unfortunate that the Mach 5 used here doesn't run, and the Mach 6 only has the chassis done
amazing
I love this shit

Creo que fue la película con más pantalla verde que de esa época
