- A fellow Foam fanatic sent me this cool toy revolver with two speed loaders.
Once I saw it, I realized I have to paint it. In this video I show you the steps to change this Toy gun into a cool prop.
Everything I used on this build is listed here.

Dude thank you so much, it was so real, that it fooled the 7-11 owner!
Ha ha I'm glad you liked it.
Nice 👍👍😊 ilove your videos

Any tf2 fans will instantly recognize that as the ambassador
Nice tips on technique and equipment. I've got a toy revolver that I'll be painting for a Steampunk costume.
I used to have this toy a few years ago but lost it. Def wanna get a replacement
It so happens I got the same toy gun (minus the speedloaders) from the thrift store the other day and was already painting it when this video popped up. Now I got some more tips to use. Thanks Evil Ted! You are the evillest!
Thank you for subscribing.
I had bought this last year for a costume now I got a nice little project to upgrade my prop for my costume haha
Made me think of the Godfather when the grip was taped up before the metallic spray.
Yup, so that you wouldn't leave finger prints.
Wow nice cool
I must have missed this video. I have to say, it's this kind of toy conversion that really got me interested in props. Love your paint work. Looks very convincing.
Thank you.
Sweet! I wondered what he was going to do with it! Thanks Ted!
Now that I made it... Not sure yet?
Excellent prop and fantastic video.
Thank you.
awesome as always ted. might need to paint a few guns myself now.
Need to get one for Barry Burton cosplay.
Same
Sweet!
Awesome video!
Thank you.
Another Solid video! God bless!
Thank you for watching and for subscribing.
yeah i bought two of these for dirt cheap on sale about two years ago. have plans to paint them up but first i want to construct better arms for the cylinder flip out action. The ones on my are so loose and flimsy.
Amazing work. The gun looks so cool
Thank you.
Can someone give me the link to buy this gun online (UK)?
Fill in the Bondo!
whats the pvc tip glued on for? i did a 357 magnum search and dont see it
The gun had no barrel on it at all. So I glued the the PVC tube on it.
@@EvilTedSmith for accuracy could you have drilled a hole?
Those bullets look small enough, you could've probably used a drill chuck to rough them up faster.
Maybe... Just worry the chuck would leave grooves in the soft plastic.
@@EvilTedSmith I get that, could use some thin foam to cushion it I guess.
What, if anything, would you do different if you wanted to use Plastidip for the grip instead of paint? I was just thinking of the softer feel vs. the toy gun's plastic.
The problem with using Plastic on plastic is that it won't stick and will peel off over time.
@@EvilTedSmith That was what I was concerned about. I didn't know if someone had a trick to make it stick. :(
i got it
Can you use kwik seal instead of bondo?
Quick seal is very flexible and does not sand as well as Bondo. Also it will swell and shirk with extreme changes in temperature and humidity.
Thanks
Bondo is better for plastics. Kwik seal I only use on EVA foam.
EVIL TED!!!!!!! CUT AWAY FROM YOURSELF!!!!!
I went on ebay and found that gun and some other cool ones I put on my watch list. Some were cheap price wise too..........
Not bad, would have been nice to see some weathering but I like it
I thought he was going to do that to. Maybe a future project...........
I had no plans on weather it up. My mission was to make it look less like a toy. I would have dirty up if it was from the wasteland.
@@EvilTedSmith fair enough tbh
I have that gun!!!!
Nice!
I have a nerf double strike pistol that I need help with, not just painting but changing the barrel and integrating other things into the gun to turn it into a sci fi gun. I don’t know if you know much about nerf gun modding, but with your experience some tips might be helpful.
I'd check out stuff on Nerf blaster "shell integration" from people like Caotain Xavier.
Him and Bill from punished props did a collaboration and made 2 custom nerf guys. Might help you out by watching it.
Plz tell me
i have a couple of these pistols. i get mine at the dollar general store,
Yeah they look great.
No weathering at all!? 😱
IT HAS A SPEEDLOADER????
RIGHT? How cool is that!
Wat is the gun called
I have the link for the toy gun below the video.
@@EvilTedSmiththat was 4 years ago and no longer available through that outlet.
