Looking back at this that design is good for actually making armor it covers exactly what you need .
A good trick for creating a heavy WELD BEAD is to use latex caulk. You can squeeze it out of a tube or use a caulking gun. If done correctly, it looks EXACTLY like a heavy weld bead. You want to use a technique that you would NOT normally use. If you apply the caulk a little heavy, and kind of push and pull, in one direction, creating little blobs, that sort of overlap each other, just on the edges of the blobs, it can really replicate a weld bead pretty accurately!! I did it, and when it was painted with steel colors and lightly dry brushed, a friend COULD NOT believe that it wasn't a real, steel, weld bead!
I've also found hot glue can make very convincing welds after a metallic paint job if you don't clean up the excess.
That’s a really cool idea!!!
@@carlpowers7291 Discovered it by accident when I was really trying to avoid hot glue, but it just wasn't working out otherwise.
Very awesome. I, too, love the Fallout universe and all the armor they put together from junk.
I used your kid's helmet pattern for my daughter's Halloween costume. Let me say that you've made this foam armor making business really easy! Its a lot of to work with these floor mats. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing.
Awesome and informative vid as always Sir. The music is a great touch! Well done, we'll done!

I think it might be true that nothing dulls a sharp blade like soft foam, but Sheet Rock might be a close second!
Yeah that's why I don't cut sheet rock. I hate drywall. Messy work.
@@EvilTedSmith Ah Ha! Thanks for the reply Ted! Yeah, I'm glad my sheet rock cutting days are behind me (I hope).
Sweet!
Saw some of your silicon molds @ michaels....thanks so much (bought all of them :) )
Glad you like them!
Picked up the pattern today and I am looking forward to putting it together for this Halloween. Perfect timing! I was also curious if you will be releasing patterns for other parts (shin, forearm, etc.) of the metal armor? Or do you have other recommendations for those parts?
It comes with right forearm armor. Because the Pipboy gos on the left arm.
@@EvilTedSmith Sorry, I now see that's included on the template. I don't believe it's included in any of the videos or still photos. Thank you so much for your response. Back to whacking foam!
ted, seen you cutting foan is like watching a master work...omg
It comes from doing a lot. You will get better at over time.
Super cool build, I'm feeling strong Fallout vibes.
Also you might want to correct the title ;)

Can you do Legate Lanius Armor?
That would be sick!!!
Once done. Looks like an Apek armour
You pointed out you used a "Black base of acrylic" was the sealing material you used not black?
Yes it was, but just not black enough for me for a base coat.
As your hair grays you just look cooler and cooler
Ha ha thanks. I aged a lot in the 6 years on RUclips.
Hi Evil Ted I just wanted to know have you made a G-force helmet from battle of the plantes
No have not, but you should make one!
@@EvilTedSmith okay I will but when I have a little extra money I will buy a helmet template from you to try to make it of my own
@@EvilTedSmith after that I would upload a video on RUclips for you to see
