The very first electric guitar I ever owned was a white Cort Strat copy, which was less $100 CDN from the great old Consumers Distributing (now long defunct). It was a real piece of junk haha Interesting to see that they are producing something of this quality now.
they probably made decent guitars back then, just no interest in buying them in the west. My first guitar, too, was a cort and it was also junk (an effector, but a cost cut model sold by sears - plastic fingerboard with a lot of dead notes). I've had a bunch of corts recently just on a binge, but have by now resold all of them. Until two years ago, the virtue was that you could get something the level of the guitar above on clearance or used for about $400 with duncan, and the guitars were all pretty good, but none was kind of the total package of expensive materials, great stability and perfect workmanship. Some of them were very straight and stable, though, just with veneer top and cost cut woods - very good guitars for $400. When they're retailing for $800, then they're just kind of like anything else - "get what you pay for" range, just like the huge glom of superstrats and set neck guitars with decent everything and good pickups for about $800.
I bought one, but found the deep neck profile and narrow fingerboard a bit difficult to play on and returned it It looks similar to an Ibanez, quite lightweight but for a budget student guitar it was well spec’d out and think it sounded pretty decent for the money.
@@johngee4306crazy how “budget student” guitar is over $800 right now. That being said you’re right about the specs, I don’t know many stainless steel frets, roasted maple neck compound radius, 2 pt trem and locking tuners, most brands that have 2 or more of these will come with low end pickups
Hey pretty sweet review there Is there any other kind of problem with regards to build quality, sound, aesthetic you found? Because I have read user reviews on Thomann regarding build quality issues(blunders as mentioned by users) of some other Cort high end guitars. Can you please clarify on this?
Try both. The Pacifica feels different to this. The necks are different and the overall sounds are different in positions 2 and above. Stainless steel frets for Cort are a nice bonus.
Cort makes some nice guitars under their own name now but I have to know that they treat their employees properly after everything that happened, no more 1 mask per month, 80 hour weeks, hunger strikes or self-immolation (a guy literally set himself on fire in protest of Cort's working conditions).
That was around 2010 when they still made their guitars in Korea. The protest where more because they were going to close the Korean factories and lay off everyboy without compensation than anythin else...which they did...i doubt things are much better in Indonesia now tho, i mean in the end its all about making money for Cort, i you dont like the work you can just leave nobody is forced to work there
Cort (Cortek) is a nice brand to buy but not to sell afterwards. They OEM for most notably Ibanez but if it says Cort om the headstock people associate it with the beginner line. That's like Squier and Fender in comparison. They should've created a sub brand.
Yeahbut, anyone worth their salt knows that Cortek builds some of the most well-known guitar brands, and this is spec'd out to the higher end of the quality range.
Approximately 21.5 to 24.5mm. This is off the top of my head when I measured mine. It is more towards the chunky end of the spectrum. But it has enough shoulder to compensate if you are worried about it!
Hi Jeremy, I do try to answer questions when I become aware of them, though there are obviously quite a few videos out there now and it’s not always practical to check back through them. Normally I do check in during the first week or so and occasionally afterwards - like today! Anything I can help with?
@@СергейМогутов-ъ4д Quality pickups are important indeed, but not as many as a Good Amp. The majority of a great tone comes from a really good 1x12 or 4x12 speakers like V30's (not to mention Mics and other stuff) and similars, a good Head, and of course a good reference of sound on your mind that you try to get close. You can put a guy that know all of that and play well, with a entry level instrument and he will get good tones out of it, on the other hand, you can put some guy with Ibanez JEM made in japan in a small amp and without any reference of sound and it will sound probably very bad.
I have one (exact same model) and it is a killer guitar. Truly outstanding work on this one. I love the neck and the sounds you can get out of this.
Cort makes some Killer Guitars for themselves, and many other top brands such as Ibanez, Fender etc..
You may have sold me here! Great playing and sound.
Cort makes some nice guitars
Beautiful playing man

Wish we had a better look at the guitar with the demo. The angle makes seeing the guitar difficult. But it sounds amazing.
Sounds great !

Well, deep neck and narrow fretboard is what I dig (like the old peavey wolfgangs)….maybe I should check one out…
@@Peter_Stoops Well it certainly is a very deep narrow neck. As a budget student guitar for the low price it’s fairly decent.

Pure step dad vibes
Who would have thought that Cort can sound so good? 🤔
Sure they can! They build some of the most well-known brand guitars out there. This is just their in-house brand.
It sounds great with those pick ups.
Seymour Duncan pickup sounds good bro
With those S.Duncan pups anything would sound good!
Super son.
Diferencia con g280 que tambien lleva Seymour duncan

Hi have you noticed any sort of fret buzz or setup issues?

i guess I'm pretty randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to watch new tv shows online?
That’s very sad to hear.

Hi, do you happen to have the neck thickness measurement at the 12th fret? Thanks for the video!

Oh wow man. :D
So you're not going to comment or take the time to answer any questions here?

I love this tone. How did you achieve this?
Loud black panel fender amp, and if you push it with a preamp like the cornerstone gladio SC, you get those tones.
I think that it's a combination of nice woods (with a solid top) and quality humbuckers.

If they had a wider selection of colours, (well more than two...), I could be tempted. As it is, I'm going to buy one of the Teles in the background!
I mean, they're both pretty neutral bearable colours
I agree. I think it's weird it only comes in black and burgundy. If there was a sunburst I'd get one because the guitar seems amazing.
The guitar player had a lot to do with it but I'm still impressed
What song is it?
What's the price range
Not ONE clean and clear tone. Mushy distortion - yearkk.
Thin, narrow tonal range and doesn't have much dynamic difference when the strings are wacked.
The overdriven sound is harsh and unpleasant.
