But all my c# knowledge came from free RUclips tutorials anyway - so you could potentially try this course, and take detours to other videos for further info as and when you need to...

@@dnynu I believe you need to go with one thing at a time if you need a job. You can try flutter, React JS for some days and see what you are comfortable with and check the job market in your area according to the number of jobs. For ReactJs, you need to know HTML, CSS and Javascript and ES6, ES7 features. For Flutter, you need to know dart. Then try for 4-5 months with either of them. You can learn flutter or React Js later. Node Js is recommended to be learnt later because you have must experience in frontend like ReactJs or any web framework like Angular, Vue and then you are recommended to go for backend NodeJs.

I watched the first three videos in this series today in December of 2023 and I was still able to follow along. Dart has had some changes, so some Googling is required in the third video but it isn't too bad. If you've worked with Java or C# before, Dart should come easy. It seems to combine the best parts of C# and JavaScript, honestly. It would be pretty great if Net Ninja were to add a video to this series talking about the changes since 2020 and maybe update video 3, because as far as teaching style and clarity go, this is still a great series.

However be warned that you can only make it to part 27 of the course, at that point its required to install a world time API, unfortunately, that API can no longer be accessed the way this course asks you to, so please remember...This course though fantastic, is very outdated, and not worth your time when reaching the end.

For every one having the android studio problem. You have to open android studio first. You can probably find it in the start menu. It will then download the necessary plugins to get rid of this error. Simply having Android studio installed without opening it first is not enough. Please like so that everyone else can see too. "Android toolchain - develop for Android devices (Android SDK version 29.0.3) X Android licenses not accepted. To resolve this, run: flutter doctor --android-licenses [!] Android Studio (version 3.6) X Flutter plugin not installed; this adds Flutter specific functionality. I opened the android studio but the flutter still got problem, it said the flutter plug in and dart plug in not installed. do you know how to fix this friend.

I am getting an error when I type "flutter doctor" in the flutter console. The error says: 'where' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Error: Unable to find git in your PATH. Someone PLEASE HELP!

Flutter isn't installing into Android Studio.. :c [!] Android Studio (version 3.5) X Flutter plugin not installed; this adds Flutter specific functionality. X Dart plugin not installed; this adds Dart specific functionality.
You can just install the Flutter and Dart plugin in android studio by following these steps: 1.) Start the Android Studio application 2.) Open plugin preferences (Preferences>Plugins on macOS, Configure>Settings>Plugins on Windows & Linux). 3.) Select Browse repositories…, select the Flutter plug-in and click install . 4.) Click Yes when prompted to install the Dart plugin. 5.) Click Restart when prompted.

If you have other North American fans, they will notice that New York time is off (I am in Colorado, USA) and believe that a +5 offset was being applied instead of -5. { minus operator is being dropped off with substring } Chicago time will be incorrect as well. Starting Substring at 0 offset fixes the logic . . . String offset = data['utc_offset'].substring(0,3);

Don't follow this tutorial. Its not made for latest dart versions and hence you will face problems. Not worth the time. I am sorry ninja but it is what it is. I wasted so many hours messing up my mind.

Some tips for those on slow internet. Get started on those downloads right now because you might find they are nowhere near "a couple of minutes". Don't do git clone or any of the precache stuff as root, or you'll find yourself doing it all over again. And don't do the 'doctor' thing as root because it will not detect Android Studio (assuming you normally use that as a non-root user), and then next time you run Android Studio will act like you've never used it before and want to download a ton of of things you probably don't need. I just about had time to watch half this video series before anything was ready.
oh wait, it still wasn't ready. There will also be a MAMMOTH download when you first try to run the app in the emulator, so you might want to do part 4 of this series ahead of time, if you were expecting to sit down and actually get something done at that point. I also found that building either type of release version (both "flutter build appbundle" and "flutter build apk") also caused long downloads. It seems like at every little step this thing wants to download astronomical amounts of crud to get it done. I have a hard time believing that it's all really necessary.

You have to download flatter and dart plugins from marketplace on android studio

Quick pro tip - you can directly type cmd on the file explorer where the folder is. It will open a command prompt for that folder

Flutter is conquering the web they say. So I'm here again!
*Please help!* Once I get to the part where I type in 'flutter doctor' I get:
Running pub upgrade...
The system cannot find the path specified.
Unable to `pub upgrade` flutter tool. Retrying in 5 seconds...
And then it repeats 10 times. What do I do? 😞
It may arise because of corrupt SDK. Goto bin and delete cache.

I had the same issue, It´s a pain in the ass. And i am still trying to figure it out the best way of getting rid of all the issues that appear when I type Flutter Doctor.
you need to add the flutter path to the PATH environment variable:
9:10 might help you (adding flutter to PATH)

You can just install the Flutter and Dart plugin in android studio by following these steps:
1.) Start the Android Studio application
2.) Open plugin preferences (Preferences>Plugins on macOS, Configure>Settings>Plugins on Windows & Linux).
3.) Select Browse repositories…, select the Flutter plug-in and click install .
4.) Click Yes when prompted to install the Dart plugin.
5.) Click Restart when prompted.

Dart and Flutter seems like a much better choice for the future of app development, so I'm happy Ninja went with this instead. React is good, but React Native is not my cup of tea for app development.

If you have other North American fans, they will notice that New York time is off (I am in Colorado, USA) and believe that a +5 offset was being applied instead of -5. { minus operator is being dropped off with substring } Chicago time will be incorrect as well. Starting Substring at 0 offset fixes the logic . . . String offset = data['utc_offset'].substring(0,3);

Don't follow this tutorial. Its not made for latest dart versions and hence you will face problems. Not worth the time. I am sorry ninja but it is what it is. I wasted so many hours messing up my mind.

Some tips for those on slow internet. Get started on those downloads right now because you might find they are nowhere near "a couple of minutes". Don't do git clone or any of the precache stuff as root, or you'll find yourself doing it all over again. And don't do the 'doctor' thing as root because it will not detect Android Studio (assuming you normally use that as a non-root user), and then next time you run Android Studio will act like you've never used it before and want to download a ton of of things you probably don't need. I just about had time to watch half this video series before anything was ready.
oh wait, it still wasn't ready. There will also be a MAMMOTH download when you first try to run the app in the emulator, so you might want to do part 4 of this series ahead of time, if you were expecting to sit down and actually get something done at that point. I also found that building either type of release version (both "flutter build appbundle" and "flutter build apk") also caused long downloads. It seems like at every little step this thing wants to download astronomical amounts of crud to get it done. I have a hard time believing that it's all really necessary.
