I’m running powerhobby turbo fans. The body cracked the rear fan on a bad crash, but with just the front fan and the heat sink it kept it to 140f with the esc getting to 165f.
@@robertstaats535 this is facts. Gets hot as hell running stock gearing in mid height grass for a whole pack even with a cheap dual motor fan heatsink setup but the things a goddamn monster bashing (with aluminum chassis brace and limiting straps) I also had to replace a tire but like you said, after a year of owning and bashing it Ive only had to replace one tire
Man where have you been! Since your last video I took apart my erevo using your videos! Looking forward to more of your insights especially your tire recommendations.
If you’re worried about hot air at the roof just drill a few holes in the roof. It’ll cause a Venturi effect when the air passing over the body flows over the holes and bring in air from the tire area. . Honestly, with how open the back and fender areas are I sincerely doubt there is any heat buildup under that shell. . It would be nice if traxxas made a couple fans in a cutout in the center of the chassis to draw air from the driveshaft area and a little duct to flow it over the motor. **edit. Guess I was wrong and there was quite a bit of heat buildup in there.
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Enrique Benson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Nice! But I’m pretty sure that if you powered the fans from your third channel of the receiver, there is a switch on your transmitter connected to that 3rd channel, so you probably could switch on and off the fans from that one, no need for the switch under the body, right...?
Great idea on the air scoop dude....I’m in SW Florida so the heat issue is something I’m very aware of with my E-Revo ... soooo ... I’m definitely gonna do your mod on my truck ...but ... I’m gonna use that plastic weld you see all over the web .... you apply your resin and cure it with a UV light that comes with the resin..... they say it really works well ..... great Vid T (as usual) have a great New Year! ☮️ / out
another nice and clear video...awesome! My E-Revo seems to have something strange lately. when the car and receiver are both on and I do nothing...the frontwheels keep steering to the left side automaticly?! I have reset everything few times allready but somehow this issue keeps coming back :( any ideas what to do?
Is your TSM or AVC on to high. this is common with TSM turn it off and see if it still does it. If that doesn't help, then I would rebind and recalibrate the receiver and esc with the transmitter. If that doesn't fix it, then check your endpoints on the steering, it's probably off a little bit. If all that doesn't fix it then you have a hardware problem that probably needs to replaced. Try the TSM off first. And let me know.
Does dust/small rocks ever get into critical components? Tore up a baseball field and noticed some fine dust through the little center driveshaft door on the bottom... is this an issue or should the only things able to get in so fine that it doesn’t matter? Or do you fully disassemble your whole drivetrain every time 🤔
... Did the air ducts last? I am thinking that they will break when you crash. Also, you might want to check out some of the thermal paste they put on CPU heatsinks. Just a very thin layer. It allows better heat transfer from the surface you are trying to cool to the heat sink.
@@upgradedrc3697 it might be something I look into myself then. I have only been into this hobby since early September, and that was with my daughter's car. I got the erevo about a month later and haven't really had the chance to push it in the heat. I lived in Phoenix for a couple years when I was in my early twenties so I do understand the immense heat you deal with out there...
@@upgradedrc3697 it's not too bad to be honest. Plus most people clean off their rc's every few runs. I haven't noticed a huge difference in terms of dirt getting thrown in. Use a brush to take off some dirt after every run. Try it out sometime I think it's beneficial to you since you live in warmer climate.
@@upgradedrc3697 appreciate the quick reply!! I really like yours, square base looks solid with stability and clearance vs bulky bases. GJ! Also I just purchased 4 fans and two switches off eBay. Preparing for summer when it gets here.
If you are so worried about the heat... Maybe put heat sinks over the entire engine instead over only 1/4 of the engine... Those fans that got no heat sinks under them doesnt do a shit.
@@upgradedrc3697 then you should tell them to start with a correct heat sink that covers the entire engine, and to use cooling paste and fans on the heat sink before doing holes in the chassi... You can also add that your way is technically free tho 😁
Man don't know what I'm doing wrong. My stock motor with vents cut out in back could get over 200 from just bashing no back to back speed runs in 90s ambient. With a larger heatsink and dual fans 170s but it throws heat onto esc and hit thermal cut out lol. Thinking of cutting out windshield nitro style and throwing a better fan on esc. To be fair I'm running mx38 tires which probably add some more stress. Can't run a full pack without letting my erevo cool down half way.
@@upgradedrc3697 stock gearing, traxxas 3s 5000mah batteries. Thinking load of fans is also stressing esc now. Also used thermal paste on heatsink to make sure it transfers heat as best as possible. Honestly thinking about just cutting a hole in windshield and mount a 40mm fan to push air onto motor and esc.
Anyway we can message you? I’ve got an erevo and am gonna run it on our dirt oval we made. Just wanting to ask suggestions for shock setup and stuff. Thanks and love the videos!
How do you like your tires? I burnt through the stock talon exts. Nearly bald and the foams feel like shit. I bought another set of exts cause $80 vs $100-140. . I’d really like to get a set that will last a long while...

That's significant cooling bro awesome idea peace out brother
Awesome idea we have summer coming and it gets to 120f so I'll try this as I have a new motor cooling fan on its way

You could also just make holes in the body like we used to do with nitro trucks. Get two bodies; one for winter and one for summer.
Ya, that's pretty much what I have now after the exhaust pieces broke off.
Very good idea and well put together.
