I had the pleasure of meeting Shane Van Boening and Jayson Shaw this past Monday - Wednesday. They both signed my shirt and my cue case. Both class acts.
Being able to accurately read the colors of the balls is such a nice thing. I don't know why so many camera teams cannot get the colors to come out. The only thing I can figure if the equipment is deficient for their lighting is poor. Now I just wish that the colors of the balls would be consistent. Sometimes the four ball is purple sometimes it's the 5 ball. Sometimes it seems like the only reason why the colors of the balls change is that they want to confuse International viewers.
Styer should be proud of her performance. Shane has blitzed far better players under less stressful circumstances ... and all you can ask for is to perform well (relative to your level of talent) when called to ... and she definitely did that. (And looked pretty good doing it).

Strong showing by Fefilova. As Jeremy said, and knows far better than me, she should be proud of that play. It was pretty excellent level, darn good for a guy, very excellent for a girl. She was seriously in the running for a lot longer than I expected. To play like that with Van Boening playing fairly solidly, with a couple of minor flubs, but some very nice moderately difficult table runs requiring consistent rock roles. And a few of the signature SVB stroke releases that are always fun to watch, the ones I rarely get right, once in a row.
She is definitely a shot maker and seems to have a pretty good eye for proper position maybe just a little bit better cue ball control and taking a better path to get to where she needs to be and she could be a world beater. I mean every ball she pocketed was with a confident stroke she never looked apprehensive about making a shot not that she didn't look apprehensive but pocketing the ball never seemed to be a concern to her she looks like just a pure shot maker.

It has been allowed as co-ed for a while, but not a lot of women decided to enter. Back in Virginia, after it moved to Norfolk from Chesapeake, I remember Karen Corr playing in it.
