They both play for a combination of general area and precise position. Of course Shane’s better at it, or at thinking the game out, he’s probably the greatest of the current era. But it seems to me her main flaw is that she almost gets no breaks right (potting the 1 in the middle)

WTF does the situation in Ukraine have to do with pool? Disgusting the way the officials politicize a simple apolitical event like a pool tournament.
You need money to organize pool tournaments. 99% of sponsors in the west will, at this point and time, pull their sponsorships if your product doesn’t boycott anything that even mentions Russia/Belarus. So unless you are willing to pay for the tournament operations from your own pocket, this is how Matchroom has to do things, no matter how Emily or anyone else feels about it on a personal level. Savvy?

I love the overhead camera and seeing what color each ball is. Excellent commentary, as well.
Being able to accurately read the colors of the balls is such a nice thing. I don't know why so many camera teams cannot get the colors to come out. The only thing I can figure if the equipment is deficient for their lighting is poor. Now I just wish that the colors of the balls would be consistent. Sometimes the four ball is purple sometimes it's the 5 ball. Sometimes it seems like the only reason why the colors of the balls change is that they want to confuse International viewers.
This commentator is great. Kind of q Harrison Ford type of voice and he really knows his stuff. Really is nice work.

Styer should be proud of her performance. Shane has blitzed far better players under less stressful circumstances ... and all you can ask for is to perform well (relative to your level of talent) when called to ... and she definitely did that. (And looked pretty good doing it).

You adjust to every table with the bad spots, like table roll and dead rails, hidden until you find them, but you can't adjust to a set of balls despite them having numbers on them? The problem is that the color if the balls, the player that can't adjust is the problem.

You're not nuts for thinking they're different colors but you maaaay be nuts for thinking the 4 is tan. It's actually pink in this set but more importantly it's an abomination. For some reason, the billiard ball companies cowtowed to the focus groups that said more people would watch but they can't tell which ball is which. That may have been an issue 25 or 30 years ago but with high definition TV today it's not a problem that needed fixing.
@@chuckn.1367 Warranty the same match I was watching the commentator said earlier in the day a player lost the last game of the match because he accidentally parted the four ball instead of the five ball he must’ve been confused by the color also
Don't know why they can standardize the colors. It's usually the 4 and 5 that change colors in different tournaments.
Seems Manufactures now want there Ball Sets to have there own colors.

Why is it better if holes or divits continue to deteriorate -making rack looser, balls have more play?? How tight is this rack with this system. Didnt see one in person yet. Thanks!

Boring , Shane takes entirely to long making his shots . Play is like chess , 3-4 shots or more ahead of the shot at hand . Won't view his or Fillers videos for the same reason . To much walking and looking . I don't care how good the player is .

Shame she can't make eye contact when shaking opponent's hand. Seems very hard-faced, a real sourpuss. Dunno what it is with pool, but there seems to be little respect between opponents.
I think I would watch good pool even if it is a replay. I do not always know who won the match beforehand. Comment from a really dedicated billiards fan should probably get a life outside this all-important interest.

Pool is a whole lot different now. The colorful characters are pretty much gone, and the competitions are about as thrilling as a funeral. Playing pool sure is fun, but watching two robot-like people 'compete' is like watching two people play a computer game.

I totally disagree with that one announcer. While Margaret Fefilova might of had a slight disadvantage with braking the balls Van Boening won more games from Fefilova's safety failures. I think she played great!!

Pro Players can run Tables. How you see them fail, when opponent strategizes. How can she get out of of safeties, does she know Diamond System, can she kick to get out of trouble, can she leave successful safeties. these "extras" are needed to see to judge players today, since they can all run a table and appear "perfect". Perfect example was/is the match between Gorst and FSR. Both can run. But Player needs know how to prevent them from running. One of best strategic games seen played. -gorst lost didnt have the finer experience needed as described above. Also watch KO at that tournament, unbelievable triple kicks.
