This video basically had no useful information tbh
👍🏾
In Eastern Europe those batteries are fixed really easy and it costs between 700 and 1000 eur. We have tesla cars which did 200-300k kilometers after the repair - no issues at all.
This is the common way of doing it, its most likely just a few cells that have gone bad and after exchanging these the battery pack is as new. Just to clarify this could happen on ANY EV, not just Teslas.
w video and also this had a lot of useful info in it
Thank you my guy!
How many miles/km your tesla had until the battery died?
They literally told us everything except what we wanna know😭🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
It had around 98k before it died.
@@LASTROUNDED wow thats quite a low number, disappointing 😕
I know. I wish it was more but that was it.
@@LASTROUNDED that should have been in the video, 5k buy back is absurd.
Now that you've had this experience including how much you were able to sell the Model S for, how do 3 year leases look in comparison? Those will always be under warranty for both car and battery, have lower monthly payments, but have no equity or paid off status like buying-to-own. Would leasing have put you ahead or behind your actual experience with the Model S?
Good point I just personally don’t care to have a lease. I have a car fund for repairs and buying new vehicles. Just my preference but I know leasing isn’t a bad option for some people.
I sold the car for only $6,000.
@@LASTROUNDED Yeah I'm curious how the math/spreadsheet would work out in the end between the two approaches.
can you provide some more information on the reasons, that might lead to the failed batteriy? Did you use SuperChargers often/mostly, and how many miles did it last?
Honestly Tesla didn’t provide much details on why the battery failed. I mainly charged at home 98% of the time. I didn’t supercharge that much only when taking trips. It had about 98k before it died.
I thought the battery warranty was 8 years/100,000 miles or os that only on the newer models?
The battery warranty on the older models is 10 years or unlimited miles whichever comes first. The 10 years ended February 2023 if I remember correctly.
This is why I hate the English language --- "battery died" can mean just depleted or completely kaputt.
Well unfortunately in this case the battery is completely nonfunctional.
The first thing he will do is get another ev and keep swearing they are saving a lot of money and how wonderful they are. 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
Sir, this is a Tesla model S. One does not purchase a Tesla model S to "save money". If he wanted to save money he would have purchased the model 3
We will see…
its model s plaid time
How much did you sell it for?
I sold it for $6,000.
@@LASTROUNDED dang you should of look at battery repair shops they just replace the battery module, and sold the car back to tesla for what its actually worth
Yuck!!! So sorry!!!
I know right. This sucks!
Lucid air
We shall see.
Porsche tycan
I like your style! The Porsche Taycan is nice for sure.
16k for a new battery pack is cheap actually considering it is a Tesla
That is a good point.
the problem is that tesla does not give you a new battery pack and you no longer get the 100m warranty that comes with the car
Lol
EV vehicles suck🤮🤮
Yeah they can at times like this.
That's the catch with EV. Also EVs are like Iphones, they're planned obsolete so you have to buy new ones after a period. This is especially true with Tesla. You buy into the hype and cost of ownership keeps climbing. I would wait for Toyota EV instead, they have one of the best reliability
That is a good point. The Toyota EV will be interesting for sure.
