I was going to say he got it mostly right. Very close for someone that isn’t from here. I found that the “ville” part of the pronunciation was too close to “ville” as most of us from Kentucky pronounce it as “vul”. Nevertheless, it’s super cool to see someone give our small city so much attention, loved the video.
@@christyler6234i hear lots of other natives that say it the way he did in this video, the most important thing when it’s all said and done is just not saying “looey”
Geez, I didn't realize that the city had that many historical buildings, much less cozy-looking venues. And, I've gotta say, you've outdone yourself with the humor this time!
I spent my teen years in Lousiville back in the 70s! I visited a few years ago and wow the changes! 3 of the stadiums can be used by Pro teams IF Louisville was considered for expansion teams! I'm bookmarking this video!!!
Churchill Downs is one of the most iconic sports venues ever. I didn't know they extended its capacity but it's definitely a eye catcher. Imagine an NFL game played there.. How cool that'd be!
I have an idea for a video: “Where NFL quarterbacks went to high school”. It would be cool to see the stadium and the neighborhood they grew up in to get a feel for their upbringing.
Whoa. Good to see a video of yours again. I hadn't seen one pop up in my home feed in awhile so I didn't even realize you were still making videos. lol.
The Yum Center is actually now the biggest arena in the state. Kentucky recently got renovations to theirs to replace some bleachers with chairbacks, and decreased their capacity to just over 20k. A few sites just haven't updated that yet.
I’ve started calling your sarcasm humor/really weird and funny remarks Wide world stadium humor because there’s really nothing else like it your videos are amazing
my daughter says "what in the wide world of stadiums" rather than "what is that?" or "what the heck?" these days. I think of his humour as "Dad humour" myself but its pretty good most of the time :)
He should have mentioned The Gardens is one of the most important venues in the history of professional wrestling in America. Not did I see Ozzy there, I also saw Andy Kaufman get pile driven by Jerry Lawler.
Rupp Arena used to be the largest in basketball arena in the state going by seating capacity but a while back they got rid of their bleacher seats and dropped from 23k to 20k so The Yum! Center does hold more for basketball now.
There's so many more cool stadiums just on UofL's campus! The football stadiums at Trinity amd St. Xavier high schools are also worth looking at; very impressive for high school stadiums.
Louisville Gardens has hosted about a thousand professional wrestling events, including weekly shows in the 1970's and 80's. Jim Cornette has a book about it, Tuesday Night at the Gardens. Some videos on famous wrestling venues would be interesting. Besides the large arenas and stadiums that have held Wrestlemania and other big WWE events, most cities had an arena like Louisville Gardens. Before 1990, wrestling was all regional promotions ('territories; think college conferences versus the NFL), and many of them would have a regular touring schedule, running some cities monthly or even weekly. You could pick venues by region, by state, by promotion, by longevity, etc. That's enough content to keep you going for years.
its really long too don't forget, on the google maps looks like 650m long grandstand. That's 6 and a half football fields. To amobz's comment wiki says 50,000 seat in the grandstand which indicates over 100k in the infield!
I'm not a horsey race fan but I suppose my favourite is Churchill Downs, it looks iconic and historical and all that. The soccer stadium that has a roof like bourbon barrels will be close second. Don't knock KFC man, my children love that place and I think its healthier than Macky Deez and Burger King but maybe that's not saying much.
Surprisingly good video for a second-tier US city. Here are some cities I'd like to see: Tokyo (great baseball as well as Olympic venues), Chicago, Bay Area, Stockholm, Barcelona (Olympics and basketball venues as well as football), Athens, Buenos Aires and Atlanta
And KFC did not start in Louisville. It began in Corbin Kentucky and the first franchise was in South Salt Lake City Utah in 1952. The company wasn't even headquartered in Louisville until 1966, after stints in Nashville and Shelbyville, KY as the headquarters city.
They repeatedly failed at an NBA team actually. NFL never got any actual traction due to there being 4 teams nearby fighting for fans. Cincy, Indy, Nashville & for a time St. Louis (when the Rams were there) so there isn't really a chance in hell there.
YOU GOT THE PRONUNCIATION RIGHT!!!
As a Kentucky Resident I thank you!

I miss Louisville Basketball in Freedom Hall. The Yum Center is nice and all, but Freedom Hall has so much history and felt more like home
What?!?! I watch all your videos. Louisville is my hometown. Can’t believe you made a video about my city!!!
Took motorcycle tour to Louisville Ky. The Baseball bat is amazing! KY. is beautiful and 1 of my favs to visit. Rock On Ky.
You missed Jim Patterson Stadium where the Cards baseball team plays.

Yeah, local stadiums. Saw many a concert at the Gardens

@@ItsReallyJackBlack My grandma bought a color TV just to watch wrestling
Thanks for putting a spotlight on Louisville! Very cool
I'd actually love to see horse racing videos, the tracks always have a unique feature and a variety in design
6:00 The UFL Louisville Spirit should play at Chirchhill Downs
What do they do with the old and slow racehorses?
It is called GLUEisville, after all.
My high school graduation was held in Louisville Gardens but it was called convention center back then (1974).
You should do videos like the history of blank stadium or the blank team’s stadiums
For instance Idaho’s Kibbe Dome or the Minnesota Twins ballparks
Rupp Arena used to be the largest in basketball arena in the state going by seating capacity but a while back they got rid of their bleacher seats and dropped from 23k to 20k so The Yum! Center does hold more for basketball now.
You pronounced Louisville right this makes me so happy as a local

Go Cards! Also that city in the eastern part of the state had a renovation that put their arena to smaller than the Yum Center.
You got an instant like 👍🏾 just from saying Louisville right LOL 😂

Anytime I Hear Anything About Louisville All I Can Think About Is Corny
Andy Kaufman wrestled in the Gardens. That alone makes it a historical building😂
Mailboxes; good one! 🤣🤣🤣😂
Louisville's football stadium used to be called Papa John's Field. We all know why that was changed.
Crazy, Churchill Downs doesn't look like they'd hold that many spectators
Standing Room Only in the infield

It is one mile around the whole track and the front stretch is a quarter mile.
You need to do Montreal. Tons of sporting venues here
You said Louisville right!
And KFC Yum!
Bellarmine will be back in Knights Hall by this time next year. Book it.
You missed Jim Patterson Stadium, home of Louisville Cardinals Baseball
Can you please do Birmingham Alabama next!❤
You should do a video on USA college track and field stadiums I say SEC has some nice ones but you can’t forget Oregon stadium
they have some nice stadiums
Please do a stadiums of Atlanta.
Please! Do Buenos Aires
I wish Louisville would have a hockey here back here. Maybe UFL team
Do the stadiums of the Buffalo Niagara area
I'm afraid you forgot Historic Manual Stadium.
Do the stadiums of horry county sc
I like the smaller US cities. I feel like they have a lot of great facilities. I would like to see Salt Lake City, Utah, or Portland, Oregon
Do Atlanta next!
If you see this can you do American association of professional baseball?
Will do.
do stadiums of Washington DC next
This video was funny 😀

Louisville needs to have a NBA and a NFL team.
Come to Louisville and lets kick it brooo

Did you really say Democratic Republic of Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium????
They moved the bat from Indiana at one point.
It was originally in Louisville and they moved to Indiana for several years, they're back where they belong now.
Dr is doctor not democratic Republic 😂
I lol'd at this when watching the video
They failed at trying to get an nfl NBA team there bad

Never tried to get an NFL team.
I live here lol
kfc was founded in corbin kentucky, not louisville
stadiums of cincinnati!
How much did state taxpayers spend on that football stadium? Is it used more than 12 times a year?
I know U2 played there in June of 2017.
It was not built with tax payer money.
Democratic Republic?!? 😂
Dr. = Doctor
Odd enough, hose was made leagal to eat in the US, very recently. Not catching on tough.
