*Beside his two own songs "Marie Blanche" and "Vivre", Guy Bonnet wrote the lyrics of the French song from Eurovision 1968 performed by Isabelle Aubret. This song was dedicated to the girl who was rape... and murde... in the wood which was unusual topic for a song at that time. RIP Guy Bonnet!* 😥
My favorite song from 1983, a haunting and soaring song that gives me chills. How fortuitous too that Guy Bonnet's placement on the stage meant that he was the one artist unburdened by the backdrop of that hideous stage, lol. RIP Guy Bonnet, you are a Eurovision legend.
RIP Guy Bonnet Here's the lyrics with English translation: *Vivre (Living)* - Vivre, vivre encore un jour, vivre encore un amour - Living, living a day again, living a love again Vivre encore un réveil, ivre, gorgé de soleil - Living an awakening again, drunk, filled with sun Aime, aime comme un fou, aime, aime à genoux - Love, love like a fool, love, love on your knees Oui, même si tu dois souffrir, aime, même s'il faut partir - Yes, even if you have to suffer, love, even if you have to leave - Ils se sont dit adieu, peut-être à jamais - They said goodbye to each other, maybe till never Mais au fond de leurs yeux, oh, comme ils s'aimaient - But deep in their eyes, oh, how much they loved each other Et la ronde des jours va les emporter - And the dance of the days will take them away Vers un autre toujours, vers l'éternité - To another forever, to eternity Loin, loin, si loin, comme une étoile, un point - Far, far, so far away, like a star, a dot - Vivre, vivre encore un jour, vivre encore un amour - Living, living a day again, living a love again Vivre encore un réveil, ivre, gorgé de soleil - Living an awakening again, drunk, filled with the sun Aime, aime comme un fou, aime, aime à genoux - Love, love like a fool, love, love on your knees Oui, même si tu dois souffrir, aime, même s'il faut partir - Yes, even if you have to suffer, love, even if you have to leave - Qu'importent les saisons, qu'importe le temps? - What do the seasons matter, what does the weather matter? Par delà l'horizon, rien n'est important - Beyond the horizon, nothing is important Ils traversent la nuit au fond de leurs yeux - They pass through the night deep in their eyes Une flamme qui luit, l'amour en adieux - A shimmering flame, love as farewells Loin, loin, si loin, comme une étoile, un point - Far, far, so far away, like a star, a dot - Aux premières lueurs, ils l'ont embarqué - At sunrise, they took it away Les fusils des tueurs vont bientôt claquer - The guns of the killers will soon ring Tu dois enfin mourir, disent-ils, que veux-tu? - You've got to die in the end, they say, what do you want? Il s'est mis à sourire, il a répondu - Then he started to smile, he answered Loin, loin, si loin, comme une étoile, un point - Far, far, so far away, like a star, a dot - Vivre, vivre encore un jour - Living, living a day again Vivre encore un аmour - Living a love again Vivre (encore un réveil) - Living (an awakening agаin) Oh, vivre (gorgé de ѕoleil) - Oh, living (filled with the ѕun) Vivre, vivre - Living, living
After two months, this song is still stuck in my head. This lyrics are really touching and all song is fragile and strong at the same time. Moreover, this blue jacket really suited him that night 💙 Odpočívejte v pokoji monsieur Bonnet
Drawn first in the running order of the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest in Munich when France returned to the festival after their 1982 non-participation. In my personal opinion Guy Bonnet always contributed very beautiful entries of high quality to Eurovision. Adieu, Guy ... 🌠
Not at all ! First, the lady's name is Isabelle*. Guy Bonnet wrote the lyrics of "La Source" in 1968. Isabelle ranked 3rd that year. But in 1962 the composers of "Un premier amour" were different people : Rolland Valade (lyricist) and Claude-Henri Vic (composer).
Rest in peace Guy, I LOVED both of your entries especially this one which I can sing by heart! I will never forget you, ❤ from Serbia. May your soul find peace. Počivaj u miru.
Will you guys pay attention to Shmulik Bilu as well? Passed away on December 31st, 2023, won the 1979 contest as a member of Milk and Honey together with Gali Atari
It's not bad, but it's not as good as "Si la vie est un cadeau" by Corinne Hermès, which France had declined for this year's contest. So Corinne Hermès sang it for Luxembourg, and won. 😄
"Vivre" a gagne en France car ce fut le choix du public. Apres ce fut un "arrangement" entre les maisons de disques, bref la magouille des affairistes.
I guess you named the wrong title if you were refering to "Un Premier Amour" which was sung by Isabelle Aubret in 1962 (winner for France). Guy Bonnet didn't write or compose this song but two other artists : Rolland Valade (lyricist) and Claude-Henri Vic (composer).
If you look for "Slimane Mon Amour Live performance", you'll find it very easily, especially on the official channel of Slimane himself and also on the official channel of Eurovision France.

The best of '83 and one of the best ever on EV.
Eurovision looked so classy back than.
Less is more !
Fell in love with this song last year already. It makes me want to vivre!
R.I.P guy bonnet!

It's been a month. Meanwhile, Guy has died recently. They would also have to ask permission from the Israeli archives.

La chanson "vivre est tellement plus profonde et vous n'avez pas acces a son sens secret.
How this didn't win that year I don't know. Even more of a shock that it came 8th. That Euro-disco effort from Luxembourg that won was awful.
"Vivre" a gagne en France car ce fut le choix du public. Apres ce fut un "arrangement" entre les maisons de disques, bref la magouille des affairistes.
Austin Powers. :P
What a lack of respect for a dead man ! Shame on you ! Come back when you're sober !
Where is the live performance of Mon Amour????? 🇫🇷

@@DanTony68 nah he's talking about the French entry from this year's Eurovision.
