Looks like they are doing a lot of retcons with the Mortal Kombat story. In the original storyline, Quan Chi kills the Shirai Ryu & then tells Hanzo Hasashi that Bi-Han killed the Shirai Ryu. Jax also gets the cybernetic arms by himself to prep for Mortal Kombat, Sub-Zero doesn't freeze them off

This is the only movie where Sub Zero is the most intimidating. And that says a lot considering how in the '90s he was only like "haha ice and kicks go brrrrrrrrrrrr"
Saw an advanced screening in IMAX tonight. Overall thought it was a fun and enjoyable movie. Definitely felt like the movie needed an additional 30 or so minutes to flesh out the story/characters. Best way to describe it would be it's an average/good movie sprinkled with moments of greatness. Keep your expectations realistic and I'm sure you'll have a fun time with this movie. 6/10
One change I thought that was actually pretty cool was how they changed Sub-Zero from Japanese to Chinese giving an even better explanation as to why they both speak English as scorpion does not speak Chinese and otherwise has no other way to communicate to his rival.
