    Tools: small flathead screwdriver, 7/16" long socket, long socket wrench extension, socket wrench, two hooks, flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, putty knife, pliers.

    I like the metal revision hub kit. Those plastic ones don't last. They tend to chew up the splines. They've worked well. No disrespect brother. Enjoy your day. This channel provides excellent info.

    Thank you for the video! I was worried the hub was the wrong piece because the pin wouldn't just slide in like other videos showed it did. I was scared to gently use the mallet until you showed you had to force it a bit too!

    Just had a question could not get the clip Al the way in the hub. Does it make a difference?

    Thanks for the video. Does the hub need to be oriented a certain way for the retainer clip to slide in? I would think that there are cut outs on the spline shaft for the clip to slip through.

      As long as it is aligned with the screwholes, the retainer should slide in.

      Well mine didn't and now it's stuck after hammering it and it won't go any further nor come out without breaking 😢

      @@barrettbarnyard1959 I had to purchased a second one and I used a wire brush to clean the scale and crud off the spline/shaft. It’s been working fine for the last month.

      @@barrettbarnyard1959 if you are trying to pry it back off and the basket spins, try sitting on the washer and put your feet inside and use your feet to keep it from rotating.

      Pretty much need to get yourself an extension to get the socket down through the agitator. I don't think the job is possible without it.

    So I got the little slide piece out, got the screws out but the drive hub won't come off over the center piece. The machine in the video is not the exact machine I have, which is wtw5000dw1. Help, how do I get that peice off? **I'm trying to get the tub out to clean it

      Check you shift actuator, make sure it’s shifting the transmission first. It’s like $20 on Amazon if not

    Is the hub supposed to be flush with bottom of washer? My new hub has a gap from the hub to the tub

      There shouldn't be a gap. Are you sure you installed everything correctly?

      Yeah I ordered the correct hub and when I checked there is a gap there. It won’t go down any further

      Crappy engineers. We've had to replace this part on a so called Maytag "Commercial Technology" washer 4 times and there's only 2 people using it. It's not overloaded. I'll never buy another one.

    Of course, he pulls the bottom of it up with hooks like it's easy. I'm over here 270 pounds. Pulling and I cannot get it to come off

    Mine is completely rusted, old gear was loose and just popped off, the new one will not fit no matter what I do.
    I scrubbed it with a wire brush and cleaned off a crazy amount of rust but it’s not even close to fitting :/
