Ahh I so love seeing Rose getting more confident in the role, especially at also "judging" the kids instead of seeming afraid of being mean. The bit at 28:39 about them all doing terribly and noone getting points really married this being the kids show to still being Taskmaster afterall and Rose being an actual presence in the format, which to me was lacking in the first three episodes. And no I'm not saying "be horrible to the kids", just seeing a bit more teasing and banter was wonderful and the kids obviously loved it and took it in stride!
It's so nice that they make sure the kids understand the instructions (in the live task I mean) before starting, it's a good thing to check. Especially with the gap in ages , I like that they check with the younger kids specifically
That makes sense, it's hilarious for people to misunderstand the task when they have a thing they can read about it at any time, but a lot less hilarious if every live task devolved into "what did the task say?!"

Oh yeah, Jamie is my favorite. And yet another perfect example of Mike Wozniak being a perfect Taskmaster's assistant. Being the "TM" is fairly straight-forward, issue judgment without care or mindfulness of others, degrade the assistant, all in the attempt to get a laugh. But being the TM's assistant, means filling shoes similar to that of Little Alex Horne. Which means, you understand you "pseudo-created the show" and therefore technically know more than the TM, but can only show it in slightly subtle ways, while still remaining subservient to the TM and the show.
I think for the kids the TM has the added job of trying to control the atmosphere in the studio with children - keep the kids confident enough that they will jump in and say potentially entertaining things, but still keep enough order that they don't seriously fight.
They didn't catch it on the podcast either they googled the mint oil thing which is also plants vs zombies apparently Same energy as Emmas Fueby and Greg being too old to care

Kyra's performance was good, but I'm pretty sure Dara Ó Briain (Series 14) got a 5-5-5-5-5-3 plus 2 bonus points, adding up to a whopping 30 points in a single episode. Pretty hard to beat that!
This is really fun. I enjoy the big personalities of all of the kids. However, I'm going to be *that* person, and say that in the sand castle task, the task did specifically say to "transfer the castle", and I don't think re-labelling plinths counts as transferring anything. 😁
They had a website where parents signed their kids up and auditioned them. Then the casting people did what they usually do but with kids instead of comedians.
I thought it would be a bland show with primitive toothless humour and poor Rose would have to try hard to stay accessible intellectually and emotionally for these kids. But nope, she's apparently almost too soft and sometimes even not knowledgeable enough (for that there's Mike though). Greg would be just fine, especially when there's chaos.
