When I picked mine up the passenger side had been ran down a guard rail at some point and was missing both sides of the ground effects and one of the rear flaps for the ground effects and the front bumper was all cracked to death.... It took me a couple of years to piece it back together...I used the Facebook groups for a lot of the little parts and pieces and a lot of good guidance with it... As long as yours runs good... Nice man! I have an 04' Echo Hatchback, 5MT; which is mechanically identical to the xB. Just hit 250,000km and it's running like a top. Minimal oil consumption (1L every 6000km or so), long term fuel trim under 2%, and still gets 40MPG in the city. Now mine is a manual and hers is automatic. One thing to note. My manual just went out with 265k on it. Engine still runs strong. The manual transmissions are not easy to come by! I finally found one and I’m installing it this weekend. There is no replacement! The manual was made for that engine and that engine only. You can’t put any other one in it. So with my wife’s having 334,000 on it, I would say the automatics are bullet proof almost. No issues whatsoever. Hoping this manual that I’m putting in lasts another 265k!!
My 2006 xB has 306,000 miles. Just did the first major repairs: water pump, AC compressor (because the belt caused the clutch to sieze) and alternator. Otherwise just brakes, replaced the alternator brushes at about 160,000, and typical fluids and tune ups. Clutch feels like it needs replacement soon.
The nice thing is that there are still quite a few left out there... Beautiful remark about the kia soul. Don't confuse us!! Mine has over 200,000. Stck shift and only now is asking for a new clutch. There is a lot of high mileage heroes, my 94 and 96 c1500. Both over 300,000 miles and a 2000 dakota 225,000. But definitely my mini fridge (scion xb) is the best.
It's almost like cared for or not... The scions reliability is unmatched.... Mine is an auto and the first time I changed the transmission fluid it was blacker than the oil and still worked fine! And a small block Chevy is an engine I've always joked... As long as it will spin it will run! They are damn near indestructible too! Keep the maintenance up and that scion will have many more years in it! Thanks for watching!

I have a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 with 196 thousand on it. Haven’t had to do any major repairs at all really. Just some little things here and there. I think biggest issue lately was the clutch master cylinder took a dump on me. Was still able to drive it, but it was puking brake fluid all over the floor.
I had a buddy of mine years ago that had a Mazdaspeed 6 and it always seemed like it was little things... Biggest problem was always that the parts always had to be ordered in as they were rarely available at the part's store in stock... Cool cars though! Thanks for watching!

As long as ya find one that's in decent shape... They are great little cars that don't feel small when you drive them! Mine just turned 294k and finally ran into my first real bit of maintenance this year and it was to put a good used alternator for it... Original denso alternator lasted 20 years and 294k before the bearings in the alternator failed! It's worth getting! Thanks for watching!
In my case they were starting to make a howling noise so if you drive down the road at 45-50 you should be able to hear the tears if they are bad and hear it feel the fronts
That's where mine was at when I picked it up....I had a passenger rear frame rail I had to reconstruct where the spring perch was and since have had to cut and replace the rocker panels too... @@Midnightautorepair No problem. Fortunately I live just 2 hrs away. SO it is just a weekend drive for us.
219,000 miles on my automatic 2006 and still running strong!
Gotta love the reliability!
Just picked up an 04 with 78k. My only complaint is no cruise control but I'll get over it
Funny note is that none of them came with cruise control...it was a dealer installed accessory so if you do see one it was aftermarket or dealer installed! thanks for watching and good luck with your XB!
currently 265,000+ on my 2005 xB, in the northeast where the snow and salty winters are. manual transmission, *still on the original clutch*!
That's impressive!! A lot of highway miles? And thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair not really. a few fairly long road trips but mostly just short commuting stuff and city/suburb driving.
@@frobzwiththingz that's really impressive!
I got a 2010 and I have definitely put some miles on it.
That's what they are built for! I just did a 700 mile trip in mine again! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair for sure, I’m about 150k in gonna get to 300 Large hopefully.
@thelasvegaskid that's got a lot of life left! Mine just turned 294k on the trip home... They are damn good engines!
@@Midnightautorepair yeah that’s why I bought it. I do love my scion
Purchased 06 Xb on Dec 30th 2005 new for $14000 from Toyota Scion dealer put on 300,000 miles and gave sold it to a needy friend. Purchased a used 2006 Xb with 150,000 miles I intend to keep that as my 2nd car til I die.
And chances are that with good care... It could last that long! Thanks for watching!
Keep it up Josh
Loved your review! Looking to buy one of these.
You should!
I’m considering getting this as my first car they are relatively cheap they are reliable have a lot of room and they look cool
It would make a great first car! Just keep up on the basic maintenance and you will have a car that will treat you good for years to come! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair yeah my only concern is the lack of side airbags
Brilliant cars our MK1 BB 231 thousand still flyin
Still plenty of life left! Thanks for watching!
I have a 96 OBS Chevrolet Z71 four-wheel drive with 270+k actually looking to get a Scion toaster like that, my buddy was telling me that he knows somebody that's got a song with 500k on it same block
VG video...I love my Release model Xb. Surprised you are not wearing seatbelt...light flashing.
Lol I guess I live on the dangerous side 😂 thank you for watching!
Brother, nice xb....I have 1 also and I have over 400,000 miles.
My son has a scion xb with over 208k miles and is still going strong.
It's still got a long life ahead of it! Mine just turned 294k and just did a 600+ mile road trip! Thanks for watching!
I think it's a toaster, and a damn good one at that. Want to feature the high mileage toreass SHO on the channel?
Heck yeah man!
How do you know when? You need wheel bearings?
In my case they were starting to make a howling noise so if you drive down the road at 45-50 you should be able to hear the tears if they are bad and hear it feel the fronts
Any replacement part? How is your MAF sensor still original, how did you maintain that?
I replaced my MAF with a denso replacement at about 270k
Mine is a 2005 Scion XB about 295,000+ miles on it. It still runs good just rusty auto body. I don't want to get rid of it just because of the rust.
That's where mine was at when I picked it up....I had a passenger rear frame rail I had to reconstruct where the spring perch was and since have had to cut and replace the rocker panels too... I'm now at 291k so you have a few thousand more miles than I do! Love to see it's still going! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair I'll keep you posted on the XB. I need to come up with some cash to get it done. It'll be a great car for me to do my deliveries in it since I don't work a traditional 9-5.
@@cgillyard mine around town is great on fuel... On the highway it gets about 25 mpg but with that many miles it's to be expected! Keep me updated...I always enjoy hearing about people's experiences!
@@Midnightautorepair ...I hope you mean 35 mpg on the highway. Check O2 sensor operation or for any other stored codes that may relate.
@@Midnightautorepairthat's a bit low for hwy. Did you do a full tune up and checked some sensors??? What do you think is the cause?
My IS300 had 328000 miles on it before it died. It was abused before I got so I think it would have gone further if it had been taken care of.
That's the hard part being a second or third owner.... It's hard to know how it was cared for before you got it... Thanks for watching!
How much rust does it have? I see it's a PA car but I'm not sure how much salt they use on the roads out there. It looks really nice.
I've had to replace the rockers already and I've r welded the rear frame back together... The rust belt is so rough on cars! It looks good at a distance but it's rough around the edges... Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair Yes, sir and thanks for the info.
I bought 05 xb for 1000$ with 113,000 miles from a friend and he regrets selling it. The car has been great!
When I bought mine I got it as my covid project for $425 from copart... And it was $680 after auction fees... And it was well worth it... Had it running 10 min after getting it home and had it registered and insured within a week lol... One of the best buys I've ever had! And that was with 262k on it... Yours isn't even broken in yet! As long as you can keep a body on it you will have it for a long time! Thanks for watching!
10:55 sounds good
11:39 sounds good x2
18:55 yea hard to find unrusted ones up north
Thanks for watching! It's still on the road btw!
@@Midnightautorepair 🔥 how many miles is it at? u should make an update video on it
108hp 105lb of torque scares me. Especially if you have many passengers and/or weight in the back. How does it do going up in the mountains?
I've never had an issue in the mountains with it other than wishing for more HP from time to time... It's very stable given it's size... I've hauled more than a few car engines in the back lol... Thanks for watching!
My Box is a Tank i just hit 277,777 Miles and still Rolling 2004 XB
Mine just finally wore out the alternator bearings at 294k.... They don't ask for much and the OEM parts seem to always be the best! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepairdid you get the original alternator rebuilt? Or just bought one from like AutoZone?
@@PixelArtGamergirl junkyard OEM actually... Never been a fan of parts store rebuilds... Only one I would find acceptable is a Denso factory remanufactured unit since it's rebuilt with all the original supplier parts
what type of motor would it take? is there one that swaps easily?
ive herd of guys swapping 1.8s from corollas but theres not much room for anything bigger...a turbo on the 1.5 would probably make it a pretty peppy car to drive though!
AYO DJ WE GOT OURSELVES ANOTHER!! 😂
They are great vehicles! Thanks for the comment
Im doing same think ill drop a new motor in mine before i get Rid of it
I’m at 173,000 miles with my 2005 box! I hope I can get another 100k!!
With proper maintenance... You got nothing to worry about! Thanks for watching!
It's a wonderful car, too good
they really are!
change the pcv valve and you'll notice a big difference on burning less oil
I did that on last tune up.... unfortunately it was abused before I got it and didn't get regular oil changes so I know the rings are hurt... But I appreciate the advice! Thanks for watching!
I have 2010 lance gts with cvt and 238936.000 it will go anywhere
Final destination, car, Janet get ready
I’m back a year later 😂. I copied you. Copped a pearl white 2004 today. Headed to North Hollywood to pick it up. 5k and 146,000, one driver.
Damn that's barely broken in...I still have mine BTW...294k and finally had to replace the original alternator after the bearings finally gave out in it... You will love it...I promise! Thanks for watching!
What springs ?
He mentioned he had put first gen Prius springs in the rear to help support cargo loads.

I wanted a Honda fit...but these look very cool. Seeing one on monday!!
I promise you won't be disappointed! They aren't fast but they are fun to drive.... I've driven Honda fits ( worked at a big Honda dealership for 7 years) they are fun but have nowhere near as much room as the Xb! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepairwhat year Honda fit have you driven? Are they faster than the xb and get better gas mileage? My 06 xb is getting only 24 mpg and dosent take highway speeds well
@@hemiplow1297 I've driven them from 07 all the way up to 12 as I worked at a large Honda dealership for a long time and they have about the same power as an Xb but better aerodynamics and I believe they are a bit lighter...
