The fact that Ryan Coogler wrote namor character as a Mexican with deep rooted Mayan heritage is amazing I love when the black community open doors for other POC and this movie will do just that BLACK & BROWN pride 🖤🤎🖤🤎 forever!!!! Tenoch Huerta even cried and thanked Ryan for opening a door for him so that the Latino community can see themselves on the screen
Most Definitely.
Mexican not Latino ;)
(native)
That’s what we do! We might be hated for it, but we’re GONNA speak up, and other people also benefit as a result. It’s the only way I’ve seen the “trickle-down” concept actually work in real life. 😌
Indigenous from Latin America born in USA. This definitely is making me proud of my Native roots
@@gaymer-j so happy hearing that 🤎
The story it's funnier in Spanish.
Basically he told the director that he could swim when they hang up the phone Tenoch manager asked him if he could swim, he said no and asked why he lied and Tenoch response was "There's nothing a mexican can't do" 😭
dónde veo esa versión??
This is magnificent 👏🏾 🥰😄
looooool love him already
LMFAO
He ain't lied tho!
Bringing Namor on the big screen for the first time basing him on Aztec/Mayan culture is truly awesome plus it brings representation and lots of culture
What would be better is respecting the source material.
@@TheBrockwellBroadcastNetwork its Namor and his ppl no ? Theyre even blue with the pointy ears like in the source material nothing wrong with taking creative liberties, if you dont like it dont watch it and read the comics
@@itsvox4398 It has zero to do with colours. It's about the characterization. Namor has one of the oldest histories in all of superhero comics, and his personality is very defined. His entire history and personality is tied(not defined, but tied) to his Atlantian origins. I have seen nothing resembling Namor so far.
People act like Marvel has never been inclusive. It's the exact opposite. They have ALWAYS represented heroes and villains from all over the world, and from different cultures(and for that matter, beyond our world into space). Changing one of the oldest and most important characters in the Marvel Universe for no valid reason is just a disservice to the original creators. If Namor had ever had his time in the light of cinema and had been done faithfully at least once, I honestly wouldn't have an issue with trying something new. He hasn't though, and I've been waiting a very long time to see Prince Namor on screen. It's just a shame it will be like this.
Also, doing Namor outside of a Fantastic Four story or an Invaders film as his intro is also a big loss.
6:22 Dude went from unable to swim to free diving for 5 minutes like it's his destiny to play Namor 😂
It was. 😁
I really love how Tenoch and Winston laugh together talking about their diving stories 😂😂
Beautiful and Priceless! ♥
Afrikan culture and Mayan/Aztec culture being shown on the big screen will be historic. Chadwick Boseman in the Ancestral Plane would be so proud to see everyone coming together and working to make the sequel come true.
Oh Aztec is also shown on the movie? I thought it was only Mayan by looking at the writing style of his tribe from seeing the trailers. Didn't see aztec being shown in the trailers, but that is so cool. I'll keep an eye out during the Movie to see if I spot Aztec symbols.
@@peekaboooooooo Talokan is based of the Aztec Underwater Heaven knows as Tlalocan .
@@jadenbrown522 Yes after watching the movie I saw all this. Even the hand thing is from my ancestors the Mixtec Civilization. Which it wasn't originally in th3 script. Tenoch and Mabel talked to Ryan about including it in the movie.
@@peekaboooooooo True. I really loved the ancient origins of the Talokanils. I hope you felt inspired to see your culture being respected.
@@jadenbrown522 yes it was so cool. And reading your comment about the Aztec thing made me even more happy going into the movie lol i saw it twice. Seeing it again I realized I missed so much of the art work during the Talokan scenes cause the first time I was so busy reading the subtitles when they were talking in Mayan. And I am a very slow reader. I can read math faster than letters that's why I decided to become an engineer haha. The Penacho namor wore was beautifully made. Even though I don't believe I have direct blood with the mayan civilization it was so cool hearing they language on a superhero movie. I'm more closely related to the Mixtecs so it was very cool to see the hand gesture. I'm fairly new liking or being into superhero movies like marvel (6 yrs) so still learning about characters.
Writing namor as a Mexican Mayan is a mcu update of a beloved character...Ryan Coogler take a bow
The cast is fantastic but Chadwick’s absence is very much felt.
Wakanda is seriously missing a male presence this time.....
Umbaku is a side character.... they should have recast Ta'Challa
@@wa-bu3ke yup and the fact That Daniel is also not there doesn't help
And, not "but." And. :)
@@wa-bu3ke heartless. Making these people make a movie like tchella is okay, this is what need to happen. Just because we don’t have black panther. Doesn’t mean won’t get one.
@@wa-bu3ke no. recasting T'Challa would feel disrespectful. nobody can take the spot of Boseman, it's better to acknowledge his death. besides, it really just seems like you can't handle a woman being the main character.
It’s going to be difficult to see the credits roll and say “Thank you Chadwick Boseman.”
Same. He brought so much to the role.
Yes just reading that hits hard 😔
"In loving memory"
Even if they say just "For Chad" we are all going to be sobbing 😭
Because we all know it's coming, I wouldn't be completely shocked if they did something at the beginning of the movie too; like what they did when Stan Lee died. not just changing it the Marvel credit at the beginning but a text dedication too
Hopefully they will not just simply put his name. I want to see him like what they did with Endgame. His profile and signature.
I'm so happy to see Tenoch, I just feel so proud to see a person like me, with the same skin color like me, from my country and my culture on the big screen, he represents me ✨ He's getting the recognition that he deserves. My mexican paisano, la vas a romper papi, I'll be supporting you 💗 All the love for the whole cast, they're amazing ✨
This is dope. I’m happy we all can celebrate this moment together for your culture. Hope this is a launching point for deeper dives into that culture
you realize Mexico also has a long history of film industry right?
oh I forgot, it only counts when is on American movies ...
I guess every other ethnicity that isn't on Hollywood's movies will not get the recognition they deserve smh.
@@19ars92 sorry, that you're on a American website, on a American OS, complaining about an American film, written by American writers, produced by an American company. America dominates your entire life. It is what it is.
@@euj0
oh really?
is that why you type in an Germanic language?
is that why you use Arabic mathematics?
is that why your laws are based on Greek and Latin Civilizations?
is that why the religion most Americans follow is from Jerusalem?
want me to tell you how the food you consume everyday originated somewhere else too?
how stupid you have to be to comment such thing, its a public website, a public comment, on a public video, or is it US Exclusive?
Turns out most things you use today were made possible because of other human civilizations developments who would've though, pathetic.
Love Winston's and Tenoch's chemistry.. you can tell they bonded during making of the movie... 👍
Really like hearing Tenoch speak.
This movie is gonna be such an emotional, beautiful experience. Chadwick will always be in our hearts ❤
Ammm... no
All I can say is that ironically the passing of an amazing human being opened the doors to another group of people who just like the African continent, has suffered the invasion and oppression of greed and evil. Thank you Ryan for giving us some light and allowing us to enter your world because in the other world, it would not have happened, not any time soon. Primarily and lastly, memorial eterna Chad.
Beautifully said ! ❤❤❤
Tenoch Huerta gonna steal the Show ♥️🤯🔥
He did 😊
Tenoch’s explanation is hilarious in Spanish, he limited English here limits just how funny his story on not knowing how to swim
definitivamente en español es más encantadora la historia
I admire how the actors articulated their feelings
So excited for this movie! Vamos Tenoch!
Tenoch's gonna steal the show.
I’m still amazed Coogler wanted to explore Mayan culture. Namor being a Mayan God is so fucking cool.
Latita Wright, I am very proud of you playing this role filling the shoes of Chadwick Boseman
I love this interview so much. They talk so genuinely and you get lost into their words.
3 of the most beautiful MCU actors. OMG 😍😍😍😍😍
I feel like coogler being from Oakland is a reason why he changed namor to an Aztec inspired character. Even though Oakland is a tough place to live in, it’s full of black and brown culture. This just shows how good coogler is at creating stories and adapting his environments into his films based on where he comes from
Yes. I think that played a key role in decision. Growing up in Oakland blacks & hispanics grow up together.
Being from Oakland/Bay Yay Area was probably Key to Coogler's creative process. Everybody is here: Mexicans (LatinX), Samoans, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Africans, East Indians, and MORE. I'm proud to have been born and raised in San Francisco and now living in Oakland.
@@TruOmilade we don't like the word Latinx.
Every major city in Amerikkka is that's why I'm not shocked by that decisison. Also, the MCU Execs didn't want it to be a carbon copy of Aquaman
If Chad Boseman would be alive today, I would love to see the showdown between Chad and Tenoch as T'Challa and Namor respectively.
man winston duke deserves a major push a lead star
also got look as a perfect action star
The way he said "I never drown before" sounds so Caribbean to me lmao
😭
All I am hearing is Ryan is great! A visionary! And boy am I happy this movie is in his hands
Shuri is even looking like a black panther. Her voice and body as well :)
Chadwick’s presence was with the cast and crew while making this film, and he will be with us when we go see it. November 11th!!! Cannot wait.
It is going to be another beautiful film. Those of us with indigenous roots can also come in and feel a part of something that is so special.
Can I say though how cute it was when Winston is like "I got up to 4 minutes under water."
Avatar actors: Hold my drink🏊♂️🏊♀️🤿😁😁
Tenoch got the Marvel treatment, bro looks beautiful
Lol 😂
This movie is set to be the best of phase 4.
Tenoch Huerta 💖 amazing
I seriously can’t wait to see this movie, the trailers have been emotionally amazing. I believe they will absolutely honor Chadwick with this movie.
Really gonna miss Chadwick 😢
Good to see Letitia healthy
Vamos Tenoch!!!
Black Panther Wakanda Forever was amazing, Tenoch nailed the role of Namor 👏👏👏👏 The movie was a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman ❤️
I like what Winston Duke is saying
Damn, this movie, first movie I will watch in the Cinema since covid.
Damn bro it’s been two years
U missed out big time on Spider-Man
@@makeouthill4822 I know, strange but, we go again.
@@makeouthill4822 Mehnn, a little over two years, can't wait
@@eastwood1026 he didn't miss much, esp if he eventually caught it in streaming
OMG this movie is great and I love Letitia Wright as Black Panther, I hope to see a Black Panther 3 with Letitia as the leading actress.
I am now very intrigued on how she said that Ryan asked her "where she was at?" mentally to have her channel that to Shuri's story. I can't wait to see this movie.
Shame Daniel Kaluuya couldn't be in this because of scheduling conflicts with Nope! Would've been nice to have him in this!
Literal chills, shortness of breath, TEARS! This trailer was A1 omfg I can't wait!
Congratulations to the entire cast of black panther wakanda forever, from the director's the tech crow to diolog coach to the speech coach to the clean up crow and not to forget the Ryan Coogler and his team like the wardrobe crow the people who does the music and the people who does the CGI that looks great. By the way everything looks great I mean everything looks great, thank you to Nate Moore as and Kevin Figeiy and to all who had something to do with this film I thank you so much and I will in theaters on the November 11 and see you fans at the movies thank you and God bless.
@Menes D Wise I think he meant crew lol
Te Amo Tenoch, desde tu Tierra Azteca México... 💞🇲🇽
Can't wait for the film--just got tickets! And I could listen to Winston Duke all day; if you haven't already heard it, look up his interview on Bullseye (NPR)
Noooo. I couldn't get through.
Can you buy me a ticket bro?
Tenoch as Namor is a good addition to the MCU universe. Thank you Mr Ryan C❤❤❤❤
Can't wait for this culture filled movie.
Haven’t been this excited for a marvel project in a while !!!
So happy and proud they hired a Mexican actor to play this role instead of going with a Puerto Rican, Spanish, Cuban or Costa Rican actor. They've been doing that crap for too long. Of course, I'm thankful that some would actually hire a Latino actor, but whenever there's a Mexican or Mexican-American character in a movie, we like to see a Mexican actor playing it.
I'm so excited. As a kid, Submariner was my fav cartoon/comic book.
The Jabari land ☺️🙏. Every single part of that movie is full of intelligence and perfectly
If it's as good as I anticipate this film to be, I'm giving it a standing ovation out of respect to Chadwick and honoring the crew involved 👏
I'm still watching Trailer reactions and getting tears in my eyes all this time later.... Is it weird to feel homesick from a place you never lived? That's how I feel!
Tenoch! ❤
This movie is a celebration of culture and Chadwick would be so proud that his legacy is attached to this beautiful piece of art!
I first saw Winston Duke in Person Of Interest, he seemed like such an intelligent villain, which made him very dangerous and now to see how far he's come and with BP ... wow!!!! can't wait to watch the movie !!!!
Genuine Comment:"I Ship Shuri And Namor s interviews!!!
Saw the wakanda forever trailer got stunned... Wow
Great Interview. 👍
I feel better about the film now that I have seen Namor flying, and that they put in marine life helping Namor’s people like the whales and Orcas, but I still need to see that Namor has his super strength. After all he has gone toe to toe with the likes of the Hulk.
Yes please more videos of BP!!
Orale Tenoch!! 🇲🇽
Love my Indigenous people representation from South America on screen, it's so surreal
mexico isnt south america
@@alexarviso6836 that's your contribution to my comment, Latin American then. congrats. whatever geographically defined borders the colonizers want to define it as, you happy now?? bcuz my people do not go by these colonizer labels
I always considered Mexico South America so I don't know WHAT Alex is talking about. ??
@@naturalwayfilms it is Central America
@@gaymer-j
"Talocan" (Atlantis) is based on Maya \ mythology located in what was known as Mesoamerica.
their civilization extended geographically from what is today southern Mexico and parts of Guatemala, Belice, Honduras, and El Salvador.
"wakanda" is based primarily on Southern African country of Lesotho with cultural influences from Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo.
Maya culture didn't extend all the way to South America and Lesotho culture didn't extend all over Africa.
WAKANDA FOREVER
Wakanda isn't a geographic place. It's a state of mind.
Deep 🔥🔥🔥 #alltheEmotions 🙏🏾🙏🏾
pure fire!
Best cast ever. Namor and the wakandans including the new black panther and half of Talokans will team up together to fight Attuma
For Culture This Is Gonna Be Amazing!! I Can't Wait Till This Weekend!! I'm So Happy & Proud Of The New Cast! Can't Wait To See Their Performances!! ❤️❤️💯
Shout out to the set designers ! Wow! They definitely needed all that budget to build that stuff
Chichen itza ,Kukulcan, Mayas y 1 de las 7 maravillas del Mundo 🌎 ‼️💙💙
We the people living and we use various things as a form of escapism. The movies is one those things. It has been a minutes since I have found one that allowed me to do so . To that I say thank you .
Tenoch el mejor
The new trailer is so Hype, I'm ready for Namor
Can’t wait ❤
Chadwick is verily missed but damn I missed kilmongers badassery 😭
Ludwig Gorranson is the best part of the movie
It's hard to pick one best part as the sum seems to make the whole great. Nonetheless I would say Ryan Coogler because of the people he brought in like Ludwig
Everyone in the comments talking about Chadwick and I'm here like they haven't mentioned him throughout the interview unless it's not the full version 👍🏼 Also it's Hollywood make no mistake about that 😂😂
Winston is a smart and aggressive Embaku but frutiy af in real life lol
😊 Awesome
Alfred Tennyson once wrote, "Authority forgets a dying king."
Marvel, I implore you as you move forward, do not forget your dying King..... 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Marvel killed Tchalla, he didn’t die because he’s a fictional character
if you listened closely, they actually dropped some spoilers.
Oh my god these good looking people 🥵🔥🔥🔥
this movie was good for the example if people around you the one you love the most dies, it will be hard to move on yet life goes on don't fight about anything you can't do about. i do miss chadwick too but the movie is well made again. you guys can complain but don't make your statement is right and the best. if you really good at writing story why don't you guys sign up to be writer at marvel if you have so much to complain
Hmm, who else gets that funny feeling this movie’s gonna break some box office records??
Groovy
🖤
The guy in the middle tho is forced to do it 😂😂
Release the Thunderbolts one
Namor , 💪🇲🇽❤️
Lupita Wright is a snack ❤ gor some reason
I hope the compliments and praise for the script and movie is genuine and not like paid shit because now this movie is sounding great

Oh my gosh the bigger the lungs the longer the breath holding capacity but still 4.5 minutes?!?!?! Tenoch said he got up to 5 minutes in another interview. I wish I could!

Finally Namor on the big screen🎥
Won’t be the same without King Chadwick
How the HELL can anyone hold their breath for 4 minutes? What?
