as a mexican, i finally felt what black ppl feel when they hear the battle cry of wakanda forever. and having it be un indiginous language was amazing. and then when i finally read it literally means talokan rise. yeah, that was something else. and having the world get excited by our culture... thank you
Lots of ppl complained how his appliance didn’t make sense in this new version but being called Kukulkán justified it especially his wings in my opinion ig only the ones who at least know the meaning of the name get it
Yes it was a very creative way to enrich Namor's story and to help distinguish him from Aquaman as a character. You can tell that the filmmakers put a lot of effort into making Namor stand out on his own as a character. I loved it.
I'm Mexican, born and raised, and I found this bogus representation of Mayan and Aztec cultures a bit offensive. The movie was a woke mess and Tenoch is just a race-baiting grifter. Terrible movie.

Tenoch was incredible as Namor!! And Alex and Mabel were great as Attuma and Namora! As an Indigenous person myself, I loved seeing the representation of Indigenous culture in this film.

Sir, you f****** nailed it! Namor was always a conflicted character who would do anything to protect his people, and your portrayal nailed that concept well.
Give this man his own trilogy. I, along with many fans, would pay to see it multiple times in the theatres. Tenoch did such an amazing job and made us all fall in love with Namor's character and culture.
Tenoch is such an incredible actor, keeping an eye out for more of his work..

Black panther is one of the few MCU franchises that give us constantly great villains ;
Killmonger was a banger in the first movie and Namór is even better dammit .
I know Namór isn’t properly a villain ( more an antihero ) and Tenoch did an amazing job with the character in the movie that I was rooting for him at the end .
He became my favorite hero and I prefer this version 100 times than the comics one and I hope they will introduce this version of Namór also in the comics .
My only worry is when we will se him again ? Not in the next phase for sure cause it’s already stacked so I don’t know .
I think Namór deserves his own trilogy but there is some unfinished business with Wakanda so I think that at the moment they could do a Black Panther 3 with Dr.Doom ( another great villain that could increase the villain’s standard even more ) as the Villain , so we could have Wakanda and Talocan vs Latveria and I would like also to see a love story between Namór and Shuri ( which I think they already teased us in wakanda forever ) and they could have a son ( Kamar , Namor’s son in the comics, which also sounds a good name for the Wakandian people ) , that could join the Young Avengers with his cousin , T’Challa’s son , T’Challa II .

It's great that they gave him a different background - I'm personally a bit tired of greco/roman myths, is refreshing to see other fascinating world mythicism in these films. As for Namor - this background makes much more sense than the ones in the comics and his hate for the surface people is much more personal and grounded to emotion, than to things he could fix himself i.e., pollution of the seas lol
Atlantis is actually not Greco Roman. It was know by the Egyptians and it's existence was told to either Plato or Socrates by an Egyptian priest. It's thought to have been in present day Mauritania in the Sahel in Africa. The rings of a city and debris from the ocean and buildings, pottery etc..still exist in the desert on the Atlantic Ocean side.
Originally yes, but the way Atlantis has been portrayed in a lot of mainstream media for quite some time has been with Greco-Roman influences.

This movie was a great sequel and great addition to phase 4. Tenoch was great in having to come in and be such a big character. So cool to see brown and black people come together to make such a big movie.

I always knew as a child that Prince Namour was special. And I also never read Marvel comics. However I am more that proud of you both because you represent Mayan and Mexican/Indigenous cultures. I have taught many Spanish speaking students and this movie is a testament to their bravery and courage to continue to do well in school always.
I hope he will get casted more in a lot amazing movies
