As a old Marine combat veteran, we always said only 2 people know Marines. The Marines and our enemies. You have to do whatever you have to do to come home, but our enemies are just like us. They are the warriors of their country, if our countries weren't at war we would probably be friends. We have the same mentality. We will drink a horn in Valhalla together one day. One of the things I think this video portrays so well is how terrifying it must have been for the first soldier who climbed out of the trenches into No Man's Land

The guitar that you mention was actually a guitar from that era. Sabaton is really into details, and I loved that you recognized that. I have done extensive research on this actual event, quite a few years back, and the saddest thing to me is that the generals (who were briefly shown before they went back to their trenches) passed orders that would prevent this from ever happening again, under penalty of death for treason. It has not occurred since, just another sign that war is a result of those in control who never risk getting a bruise, yet are responsible for horrendous numbers of deaths. Shame!

This is the sad thing about war, the soldiers didn’t have hate for each other as demonstrated by the truce, they were just doing what they were told and had been trained to do! War has and will always be the same, some power crazed individual(s) use their power for the bad, fuelled by greed mostly, and to incite their population into violence, then the other party has to defend themselves and do their best to put a stop to it which causes the proliferation…….. Great review and interpretation, thoroughly enjoyable! 🌹 Interesting fact: Floor’s husband is the drummer for Sabaton as you noticed she sang the outro song! Edit: Bismark is a great follow up, it’s the story about the German ‘unsinkable’ battleship! They didn’t count on the British Navy and Airforce!
Not true of all wars unfortunately. Pretty sure the Ukrainians hate the Russians with a passion. That's probably why there hasn't been anything like the Christmas truce during this war even though it's a very similar type of trench war.
The "2021" carving at the end--- The chorus is "Our moment of peace in a war that never ends." The carving is reminding us that it STILL has not ended. 😪 .....And probably never will.

Joakim and Par worked on this song for several years, trying to make it as perfect as possible since they felt the event was so significant. They filmed the video using professional movie crew that was available due to the pandemic, creating trenches and a no man's land that realistically replicated those in WW1. An outstanding effort and commitment that has given us an amazing piece of art. kudos to all involved in this project. BTW, I don't know if you recognized the fact Joakim wrote this as a waltz. One thing people forget is that at this point in the war both armies consisted of mostly volunteers who felt they were doing the right thing by fighting for their respective homeland. Each side believed that God and history were on their side and did not hate the enemy but knew they must kill them for their country to be victorious.
sabaton are not just some random musicians. they are masters at what they are doing. they don´t just write songs, they tell storys. i am a fan for more then 15 years now and they never dissapoint. some suggestions: soldiers of heaven angels calling price of a mile stormtroopers union attack of the dead men and a million more
Great reaction. As an American (I say that cuz the Truce didn't include Yanks as US wasn't in WW1 when it took place), I'm in awe of this event. As an Iraq vet, I can't see something like this happening today. Was a different world then & war btwn Western nations (who share similar cultures) is pretty much non-existent today. I don't know how much hugging took place during the Truce, but can say I totally believe that they traded stuff. Soldiers do that. When I was in the Navy, I was on the ground in Lithuania for a NATO exercise. Wish I'd hv brought more "stuff." I've commented to reactors b4, when my daughter was little, I read this story to her a cpl times (easy for a WW1 buff like me). I think this is a great Christmas story cuz (as u say) it's a story of humanity. WW1 was a horrible meat grinder & still, had this "moment of humanity." My understanding top command on both sides weren't happy abt (informal) Truce & it didn't happen again. But, event is worthy of "Lest We Forget."
This is hands down the best Christmas song produced in ages, it really shows that no matter the situation there's still room for humanity if we really want to give it a chance. Next Sabaton song ought to be "No bullets fly" the animated version, I think you'll like the story behind that one which is told in the video so remember to watch it to the end.

I have seen this video many times and still i get tears in my eyes when i see it, the contrast from the beginning to the peace part and also the fact that this actually happened. The polititians and the military leaders got scared shitless coz if this would happen in larger scale it could end the war without them having any say about it. So after this happened they told every officer that if this happened again anyone responcible would get courtmarshalled. As usual u do so good reactions.
@Koality Reactions: For me, as someone who understands and empathizes with soldiers in the trenches, the "boots on the ground," things like this song never fails to get to me. The reason why is simple: Because few ever truly understand what goes through the mind of any soldier, in any time in history. Sabaton has an amazing way of communicating this to the listener. As for the Christmas Truce of 1914, this event actually happened. And, it was spontaneous; it was not planned. Essentially, the Germans wanted to turn their humanity back on and realize what they were doing there, to take a break from the constant bombardment. And because it was Christmas, they sang carols like "O Holy Night" to boost their morale. It wasn't until the British started singing them back that they realized the men across from them also understood. So, the British asked for a truce mainly to clear the dead (as you see in the video). Given this, those not clearing the dead met, talked, and exchanged small gifts ranging from chocolates and cigarettes to buttons and even family pictures. High Command wasn't happy with this impromptu Christmas celebration, as they saw it damaging to discipline. Despite orders the following year that any man would be tried for treason and shot, there were a few places on the line in 1915 that did also celebrate a Christmas truce, though not to the level of the 1914 truce. After the 1914 truce, one German commander ended up moving his men to another section of the line, as his men refused to fire on those they had celebrated Christmas with the day before. Given all of this, the cross in the video exists, near the town of Ypres, Belgium. It reads, from top, to left, to right, to bottom: "1914 Khaki Chums, Christmas Truce, Lest We Forget." Lastly, on another reaction, a commenter mentioned that if not for the 1914 Christmas Truce, he would not exist. Why? Because his grandfathers met each other that day in "No-Man's Land." After the war, they not only became good friends, but their families married into each other. Koality, this is to me the only appropriate Christmas song. Too often, songs this time of year are much too narcissistic, and don't think about those who sacrifice so much, for so many. This song also humanizes soldiers, in such a way that it shows a dichotomy of humanity at our best, and our worst. Despite this, the light of humanity may flicker in the darkness of a hellish warzone, but given the chance, it can and will shine. Filming took place in the former military complex in Rožmitál pod Třemšín in the Czech Republic (Joakim Brodén has a Czech passport. his mother is CZECH) by a Czech team. One of the things that gets me is "a moment of peace in a war that never ends", because my country has sent soldiers abroad to fight every single year since 1914. That's what the 2021 means to me personally. I usually cry twice in this one, when Pär notices Hannes going out of the trench and when he is carving on the cross. Lord God of Hosts be with us yet, lest we forget, lest we forget.
I would love to see you react to Sabaton - En livstid i krig (a lifetime of war) live Scandinavium Gothenburg. The album they had released during that time called Carolus Rex is about a part of Swedish history referred to as the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from a time when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding. The album was released with both an English and Swedish version, the difference being that The Swedish one tells the story from our/a Swedish soldier's view while the English is more from an outside observer´s view. It is the Swedish version they played that night so be sure that you have the subtitles on, I was at that show and all I can say is that you won´t regret it.
think about this for a second. the war has been going on for like 5 months. you have artillery going off. gas being used. bullets whizzing by you. and then as snow falls everything for a moment stops. silence over takes you. and while you and your mortal enemies are actively trying to kill each other you hear the sounds of o holy night. its not in your language but you as a fellow christian know the beat and rhythm of that song. and through all of the violence you put aside your differences and you crawl out of trench and meet an enemy soldier in no man’s land. which is symbolic af when you think about that. and as you get to the middle instead of fixing bayonets and slaughtering the enemy, you celebrate christmas. the sad reality is this truce effectively ended the war and yet the leaders of the countries outlawed truces on the front and basically killed anyone who didnt fight. war sucks folks.

I'm a bit foggy because it's been a long time since I read about this truce, but I seem to remember that those in command ended up having to transfer the troops to different locations after this truce because they were so reluctant to fire on people who they had come to know.
Right. Suddenly the High Commands of both sides could not persuade those soldiers who had been there that they were fighting monsters who eat babies. There was all sorts of trash-talking from the military machines on both sides, loads of lies before the war ever happened, in order to get people into action. Just imagine, war would never happen if everybody was HONEST. There could be no war mongers if cooler heads were allowed to prevail. Instead we have our reality.

This truce wasn't authorized by any of the military commands in fact it was a spontaneous act. The German soldiers were the ones who took the intiative so to speak. After the truce many soldiers refused go back to the war and some of them actually got executed for disobeying orders. In case you're not familiar with Sabaton they're history freaks all of their songs is about historic events. It could be about their native Swedish history or something that affected the entire world like ww1 in this case.
This whole theme reminds me of Snoopy vs the Red Baron where rivals stopped fighting on Christmas day and had drinks as friends and later flew off in different directions to meet again in battle another day. Honestly, i am not trying to diminish Sabaton's song in any way. I just noticed the similarities.
Sabatons always tell a story in their songs. Pills of history that are often little known. Easy then to find similarities, although some have a more or less serious format.
The sad thing is that a lot of the people taking part in this were punished by being sent to the worst fronts (even worse). Can't have your troops realizing that they have much more in common with the "enemy troops" than they do with the people giving them orders... 😢

And my favourite scene is the cut from the falling football to the falling grenade. It perfectly shows how hard it is for all the soldiers to get rid of the horriffic pictures of war burned into their brains and memories. Great reaction. Actually found your channel through a Nightwish reaction and subscribed. This song gets me every single time, as do several Sabaton songs to be fair. A couple of recommendations would be Blind And Frozen by Beast In Black, and Vita Nova by Eye Of Melian. I think you’d particularly enjoy the latter one, and the vocalist in Eye Of Melian also happens to be the wife of Tuomas from Nightwish. Her voice is mesmerising. Just a little side note… love the name of the channel, particularly as I adore Koalas.
For 9hrs give or take it was magical to a certain aspect. They sang songs, played futbol, exchange conversation and then BAM back to hell! War is and will always be hell even today. No one ever wins! But for a short moment, it was a Christmas. 😔🎼🎄🌹💖

This a great video. In World War II there were also instances of cease fire especially at the Battle of Monte Cassino where at times there were cease fires so both sides could collect their dead and wounded. A battle that would make a great Sabaton song.
One thing I love about this video is that it's not sugarcoated. Yes, there was a moment of humanity between combatants. But it's not all "let's be nicey-nice from now on, all our problems are solved." Ultimately it was more a case of "The killing resumes at 8 o'clock. Don't be late." It's paradoxical but I think it's a good reflection of what actually happened.

True unplanned event that happened. The high command (both sides)got so upset that they made sure it didn't happen again. I guess you're not supposed to have humanity in war. Im a retired US Army paratrooper infantryman. Without humanity, you're no longer human.

I have always had a huge interest in The Great War. It is just unimaginable the amount of lives lost in the trenches for absolutely no reason or gain for anyone involved. Just kids never going home again the same if at all. I've never known or talked to anyone involved in The Great War but just the mental image that all the letters to home and memoirs left behind give you should give any decent person a reason to be friendly to another. I really appreciate Sabaton for telling both the heroics and horrors of The Great War and other conflicts. Few of my relatives served in The Winter War against Soviet Union and it tells me more than I need to know that they never told me anything about anything that happened at the front. War fucking sucks no matter what side of it you are on.
I am a Londoner but I have been living just North of London in the county of Hertfordshire here in England, I have lived here in Hertfordshire for 56 years of my life and I know all about the Christmas Truce as i was not only taught about it at my junior school history class but also at my secondary school history class plus from a young age my interests were Military History of the British Armed Forces plus other countries military history also i wanted to join the British Army when I got older. In 1914 the County of Hertfordshire had two Regiment's in the British Army......The Hertfordshire Yeomanry Regiment and The Hertfordshire Regiment, on Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day the 2nd Battalion of The Hertfordshire Regiment was involved in the Christmas Truce with the German Army. The Football that was used in the Famous Football Game came from a Soldier of The London Irish Regiment where he used to kick the Ball when the London Irish Regiment attacked the German Line. But on Christmas day of 1914 the Football was used in the most historic game of Football in European Football History. The actual Football used in the Christmas Truce of 1914 survived WW1 and is in The London Irish Regiment's Museum at there Barracks in London where it can be seen. The Christmas Truce was mainly British Soldiers and German Soldiers, Many French Soldiers didn't want to be involved as there country was invaded by the Germans plus French Soldiers were deterred from leaving their trenches by their Generals orders. The Christmas Truce is a major part of British and German history where brotherhood, being fed up with the war and the Christmas Spirit even for a few days ment a lot to the Ordinary Men on both sides. The thing that hits me about this song other than the lyrics. Is the timing of it. It came out 2021i believe. After the year of turmoil around the world but especially here in the US. It resonated with me. If men in actual war can come together, why cant people who disagree in ideas and politically do the same? The politicians want us fighting despite having more in common than we have differences. That and how strong brotherhood is.
After the truce, the higher officers notice that soldiers were aiming to miss the other soldiers since they had known each other and transfered them so they would face people they didnt interact with. 😢😢

The "great" war ('14 - '18) was the worst ever, 9.000.000 soldiers (on both sides) and 8.000.000 civilians lost their lives, and for what? The cross depicted in the video still stands after 110 years near Ypres in Belgium and is every year visited by thousands of people to remind what has happened and to remember all the fallen. All Sabaton's songs are in one way or the other always connected with historical war themes and have a story to tell based on true facts. The two units that lay down their weapons on the 24 december 1914 wouldn't continue fighting the morning against each other after so they were both replaced on the front to fight another day, none of them, german or allies lived to tell the tale but they had their one night of peace...
There is a really good movie called Joyeux Noel about this. It's not a specific story that happened but a combined from stories from across the front. Definitely recommend it!

Can you imagine as they were planning this video ... Producers: "You know, we need the voice of an angel to sing over the credits!" Hannes: "Hold my beer and hand me the phone!" Excellent reaction! The guitar that you mention was actually a guitar from that era. Sabaton is really into details, and I loved that you recognized that. I have done extensive research on this actual event, quite a few years back, and the saddest thing to me is that the generals (who were briefly shown before they went back to their trenches) passed orders that would prevent this from ever happening again, under penalty of death for treason. It has not occurred since, just another sign that war is a result of those in control who never risk getting a bruise, yet are responsible for horrendous numbers of deaths. Shame!

It's one of my absolute favorite songs from Sabaton and it makes me feel proud to be from Sweden.. I'm certain that you'd love that song, especially the live version.. It's about the 30 year war here in Europe but from a Swedish soldiers perspective.

This is the sad thing about war, the soldiers didn’t have hate for each other as demonstrated by the truce, they were just doing what they were told and had been trained to do! War has and will always be the same, some power crazed individual(s) use their power for the bad, fuelled by greed mostly, and to incite their population into violence, then the other party has to defend themselves and do their best to put a stop to it which causes the proliferation……..

Not true of all wars unfortunately. Pretty sure the Ukrainians hate the Russians with a passion. That's probably why there hasn't been anything like the Christmas truce during this war even though it's a very similar type of trench war.

Joakim and Par worked on this song for several years, trying to make it as perfect as possible since they felt the event was so significant. They filmed the video using professional movie crew that was available due to the pandemic, creating trenches and a no man's land that realistically replicated those in WW1. An outstanding effort and commitment that has given us an amazing piece of art. kudos to all involved in this project. BTW, I don't know if you recognized the fact Joakim wrote this as a waltz.
One thing people forget is that at this point in the war both armies consisted of mostly volunteers who felt they were doing the right thing by fighting for their respective homeland. Each side believed that God and history were on their side and did not hate the enemy but knew they must kill them for their country to be victorious.

Great reaction. As an American (I say that cuz the Truce didn't include Yanks as US wasn't in WW1 when it took place), I'm in awe of this event. As an Iraq vet, I can't see something like this happening today. Was a different world then & war btwn Western nations (who share similar cultures) is pretty much non-existent today. I don't know how much hugging took place during the Truce, but can say I totally believe that they traded stuff. Soldiers do that. When I was in the Navy, I was on the ground in Lithuania for a NATO exercise. Wish I'd hv brought more "stuff." I've commented to reactors b4, when my daughter was little, I read this story to her a cpl times (easy for a WW1 buff like me). I think this is a great Christmas story cuz (as u say) it's a story of humanity. WW1 was a horrible meat grinder & still, had this "moment of humanity." My understanding top command on both sides weren't happy abt (informal) Truce & it didn't happen again. But, event is worthy of "Lest We Forget."

I have seen this video many times and still i get tears in my eyes when i see it, the contrast from the beginning to the peace part and also the fact that this actually happened. The polititians and the military leaders got scared shitless coz if this would happen in larger scale it could end the war without them having any say about it. So after this happened they told every officer that if this happened again anyone responcible would get courtmarshalled. As usual u do so good reactions.
@Koality Reactions: For me, as someone who understands and empathizes with soldiers in the trenches, the "boots on the ground," things like this song never fails to get to me.
The reason why is simple: Because few ever truly understand what goes through the mind of any soldier, in any time in history. Sabaton has an amazing way of communicating this to the listener.
As for the Christmas Truce of 1914, this event actually happened. And, it was spontaneous; it was not planned. Essentially, the Germans wanted to turn their humanity back on and realize what they were doing there, to take a break from the constant bombardment. And because it was Christmas, they sang carols like "O Holy Night" to boost their morale. It wasn't until the British started singing them back that they realized the men across from them also understood. So, the British asked for a truce mainly to clear the dead (as you see in the video). Given this, those not clearing the dead met, talked, and exchanged small gifts ranging from chocolates and cigarettes to buttons and even family pictures.
High Command wasn't happy with this impromptu Christmas celebration, as they saw it damaging to discipline. Despite orders the following year that any man would be tried for treason and shot, there were a few places on the line in 1915 that did also celebrate a Christmas truce, though not to the level of the 1914 truce.
After the 1914 truce, one German commander ended up moving his men to another section of the line, as his men refused to fire on those they had celebrated Christmas with the day before.
Given all of this, the cross in the video exists, near the town of Ypres, Belgium. It reads, from top, to left, to right, to bottom: "1914 Khaki Chums, Christmas Truce, Lest We Forget."
Lastly, on another reaction, a commenter mentioned that if not for the 1914 Christmas Truce, he would not exist. Why? Because his grandfathers met each other that day in "No-Man's Land." After the war, they not only became good friends, but their families married into each other.
Koality, this is to me the only appropriate Christmas song. Too often, songs this time of year are much too narcissistic, and don't think about those who sacrifice so much, for so many. This song also humanizes soldiers, in such a way that it shows a dichotomy of humanity at our best, and our worst. Despite this, the light of humanity may flicker in the darkness of a hellish warzone, but given the chance, it can and will shine.

One of the things that gets me is "a moment of peace in a war that never ends", because my country has sent soldiers abroad to fight every single year since 1914. That's what the 2021 means to me personally. I usually cry twice in this one, when Pär notices Hannes going out of the trench and when he is carving on the cross. Lord God of Hosts be with us yet, lest we forget, lest we forget.

The album they had released during that time called Carolus Rex is about a part of Swedish history referred to as the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from a time when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding.
The album was released with both an English and Swedish version, the difference being that The Swedish one tells the story from our/a Swedish soldier's view while the English is more from an outside observer´s view.
It is the Swedish version they played that night so be sure that you have the subtitles on, I was at that show and all I can say is that you won´t regret it.
think about this for a second. the war has been going on for like 5 months. you have artillery going off. gas being used. bullets whizzing by you. and then as snow falls everything for a moment stops. silence over takes you. and while you and your mortal enemies are actively trying to kill each other you hear the sounds of o holy night. its not in your language but you as a fellow christian know the beat and rhythm of that song. and through all of the violence you put aside your differences and you crawl out of trench and meet an enemy soldier in no man’s land. which is symbolic af when you think about that. and as you get to the middle instead of fixing bayonets and slaughtering the enemy, you celebrate christmas.
the sad reality is this truce effectively ended the war and yet the leaders of the countries outlawed truces on the front and basically killed anyone who didnt fight. war sucks folks.

I'm a bit foggy because it's been a long time since I read about this truce, but I seem to remember that those in command ended up having to transfer the troops to different locations after this truce because they were so reluctant to fire on people who they had come to know.
Right. Suddenly the High Commands of both sides could not persuade those soldiers who had been there that they were fighting monsters who eat babies. There was all sorts of trash-talking from the military machines on both sides, loads of lies before the war ever happened, in order to get people into action.
Just imagine, war would never happen if everybody was HONEST. There could be no war mongers if cooler heads were allowed to prevail.
Instead we have our reality.

This truce wasn't authorized by any of the military commands in fact it was a spontaneous act. The German soldiers were the ones who took the intiative so to speak. After the truce many soldiers refused go back to the war and some of them actually got executed for disobeying orders. In case you're not familiar with Sabaton they're history freaks all of their songs is about historic events. It could be about their native Swedish history or something that affected the entire world like ww1 in this case.

This whole theme reminds me of Snoopy vs the Red Baron where rivals stopped fighting on Christmas day and had drinks as friends and later flew off in different directions to meet again in battle another day. Honestly, i am not trying to diminish Sabaton's song in any way. I just noticed the similarities.

And my favourite scene is the cut from the falling football to the falling grenade. Great reaction. Actually found your channel through a Nightwish reaction and subscribed. This song gets me every single time, as do several Sabaton songs to be fair. A couple of recommendations would be Blind And Frozen by Beast In Black, and Vita Nova by Eye Of Melian. I think you’d particularly enjoy the latter one, and the vocalist in Eye Of Melian also happens to be the wife of Tuomas from Nightwish. Her voice is mesmerising. Just a little side note… love the name of the channel, particularly as I adore Koalas.
For 9hrs give or take it was magical to a certain aspect. They sang songs, played futbol, exchange conversation and then BAM back to hell! War is and will always be hell even today. No one ever wins! But for a short moment, it was a Christmas. 😔🎼🎄🌹💖

This a great video. In World War II there were also instances of cease fire especially at the Battle of Monte Cassino where at times there
were cease fires so both sides could collect their dead and wounded. A battle that would make a great Sabaton song.

One thing I love about this video is that it's not sugarcoated. Yes, there was a moment of humanity between combatants. But it's not all "let's be nicey-nice from now on, all our problems are solved." Ultimately it was more a case of "The killing resumes at 8 o'clock. Don't be late." It's paradoxical but I think it's a good reflection of what actually happened.
It's awesome to realize with you all the work it needs to get a music video like that ! It's not just : "come on, friends, let's find old trenches and bring a camera", there are so many accessories and details, it's really great to see !

The story told in the song actually really happened in 1917. ( There is even a movie about it called "Joyeux Noël" in french). Anyway the singer has an amazing voice and we like that; don't we ?

I have always had a huge interest in The Great War. It is just unimaginable the amount of lives lost in the trenches for absolutely no reason or gain for anyone involved. Just kids never going home again the same if at all. I've never known or talked to anyone involved in The Great War but just the mental image that all the letters to home and memoirs left behind give you should give any decent person a reason to be friendly to another. I really appreciate Sabaton for telling both the heroics and horrors of The Great War and other conflicts. Few of my relatives served in The Winter War against Soviet Union and it tells me more than I need to know that they never told me anything about anything that happened at the front. War fucking sucks no matter what side of it you are on.
I am a Londoner but I have been living just North of London in the county of Hertfordshire here in England, I have lived here in Hertfordshire for 56 years of my life and I know all about the Christmas Truce as i was not only taught about it at my junior school history class but also at my secondary school history class plus from a young age my interests were Military History of the British Armed Forces plus other countries military history also i wanted to join the British Army when I got older. In 1914 the County of Hertfordshire had two Regiment's in the British Army......The Hertfordshire Yeomanry Regiment and The Hertfordshire Regiment, on Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day the 2nd Battalion of The Hertfordshire Regiment was involved in the Christmas Truce with the German Army. The Football that was used in the Famous Football Game came from a Soldier of The London Irish Regiment where he used to kick the Ball when the London Irish Regiment attacked the German Line. But on Christmas day of 1914 the Football was used in the most historic game of Football in European Football History. The actual Football used in the Christmas Truce of 1914 survived WW1 and is in The London Irish Regiment's Museum at there Barracks in London where it can be seen. The Christmas Truce was mainly British Soldiers and German Soldiers, Many French Soldiers didn't want to be involved as there country was invaded by the Germans plus French Soldiers were deterred from leaving their trenches by their Generals orders. The Christmas Truce is a major part of British and German history where brotherhood, being fed up with the war and the Christmas Spirit even for a few days ment a lot to the Ordinary Men on both sides. The thing that hits me about this song other than the lyrics. Is the timing of it. It came out 2021i believe. After the year of turmoil around the world but especially here in the US. It resonated with me. If men in actual war can come together, why cant people who disagree in ideas and politically do the same? The politicians want us fighting despite having more in common than we have differences. That and how strong brotherhood is.
After the truce, the higher officers notice that soldiers were aiming to miss the other soldiers since they had known each other and transfered them so they would face people they didnt interact with. 😢😢

Be sure to take a look at the Sabaton History RUclips channel that context of each song. I am going to suggest, No Bullets Fly, animated video and then sabaton's tribute to Motorhead covering . 1916 is going to be rough, but it's brilliant.
The "great" war ('14 - '18) was the worst ever, 9.000.000 soldiers (on both sides) and 8.000.000 civilians lost their lives, and for what? The cross depicted in the video still stands after 110 years near Ypres in Belgium and is every year visited by thousands of people to remind what has happened and to remember all the fallen. All Sabaton's songs are in one way or the other always connected with historical war themes and have a story to tell based on true facts. The two units that lay down their weapons on the 24 december 1914 wouldn't continue fighting the morning against each other after so they were both replaced on the front to fight another day, none of them, german or allies lived to tell the tale but they had their one night of peace...
There is a really good movie called Joyeux Noel about this. It's not a specific story that happened but a combined from stories from across the front. Definitely recommend it!
