    The 57X is great for the Tennessee race track. It's very rapid with the high range gearbox. I use the 47X NF 1430 as a heavy crane truck. It works great in that role. I don't mind dead axles. My two favourite trucks in the game have them. I've used the 49X and CT681 on every map with no problem. I prefer them to any of the Russian rigs. Out the Wolf Pack trucks, my favourite is the 47X NF 1424. It's a champ in mud with only the diff lock. I've pulled AWD trucks out of the mud with the 1424.

    So you agree the 47's are front heavy, yeah I suspected that as well. Honestly the 57 really surprised me. I have a video of it hauling a Step-Deck trailer though the Devil's Mud Pit in North Port. Honestly for most of the way though it retained not to bad a pace a for a RWD. It did get stuck in one small spot right near the end where the mud get deeps for a few feet, normally you would winch there but I wanted to see if the 57X could fish it's way though that hole under it's own power, and it actually did.
    So while having a hangup at the end, with no diff-lock, no lifts, and a trailer behind it dragging in the mud, the 57X actually did conquer Devil's Mud Pit all on it's own without winching.
    Honestly with the lift and 44' tires whenever that gets fixed, I suspect the 57X will actually be a pretty dang capable truck.

    Great video man as always. These are certainly the most controversial dlc trucks. Diff locking is far superior to awd. All three need diff locking. I use the 1424 as a long log hauler it’s a beast I pulled a set across the lowlands Maine swamp to the mill one shot! The dual axle 1430 gets the large crane and does good if you don’t mind tugging it around every now and then

    What I find interesting about this DLC, is that in it, the 57X has a decently good damage model. While the EXACT same truck in American Truck Simulator has no damage model. I wonder why?
    I’m guessing licensing agreements between companies for both games.

    • @NProvince

    Great review! I watched it twice 😄I have done a lot of testing with these trucks and it looks to me that at least the 1430 have som sort of limited slip diff. Someone in the Sowrunner Discord also mentioned that the game files says "Diff lock=installed" on the 1430.
    I really don´t understand the controversy with these trucks. There have been 6x4 trucks since the days of Spintires and the WS pack is one of the best IMO. In my driving style I am used to relying more on the diff lock than the AWD anyways. I challenge both my truck and myself not to use the AWD for fuel savings and to evolve as a Snowrunner driver. It is a very rewarding experience.
    I don´t understand why you rank the heavy winch as an upside. As you know the only thing that actually makes the winch stronger is the trucks own weight. The different class of winch only dictates the strenght multiplier (medium and heavy is the same) and the lenght of the winch cable (heavy has the shortest). Since we talked about it from your 4x4 video I did some testing of my own and all testing proved that only the weight of the truck really makes any big difference. The loadstar 1700 with the scout winch was on par with the WS 1424 with the heavy winch. The Azov 64131 with the medium winch was slightly better than the WS 1424 with the heavy winch. The Cat 770G with the heavy winch was however totally superior in all testing. I would say that having the heavy winch is only a downside since you get the worst strenght multiplier and the shortest cable lenght.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Год назад +1

      Thank you! So the upside of a heavy winch on a lighter vehicle is still an upside. The winch type has a better multiplier as I explained when you asked that question. Weight is also a driving factor, but still to have a better base multiplier on a winch in an upside considering these trucks should be highway or heavy duty classes. Having a medium winch in the heavy class would be a downside. Then the winch would we even weaker considering the weights. A heavy winch on any vehicle is a good thing. Comparing the heaviest medium which (Azov 64131) against vehicles that weigh 1/3 of its weight is not a good comparison either. The Azov is 17.8 tons vs 57x at 5 tons. Considering that gap, the heavy winch on those trucks is a blessing
      Concerning the diff lock thing. No it has no sort of diff lock or limited slip. The game is set up where it either has it or it doesn’t. I believe they are going to receive it due to the irl trucks having difflock of which is found on western stars website. In the video I mentioned the reason the 1430 has better performance and my muddrunning tips video will prove the OHD 1 tires are superior than the other UODs. So the reason I am able to do well is weight driving axles.
      Now back to the diff lock. On my Azov 4220 video I explained how to drive power to all wheels when you don’t have difflock. 3 ways, auto, high, and low +. Low and Low- will not allow enough power to turn all wheels. They will not spin the same either due to lack of diff but it will allow them to drive. That’s a mechanic I’ve picked up from testing. Hopefully in the future they will add the diff and the OHD tires to the other vehicles.
      Next time I stream I can explain a lil further. It’s tough on a text platform lol

    • @dlmunlimited
      @dlmunlimited Год назад

      @@NProvince Thank you so much for the lenghty answer 🙏 From the data mining chart I picked up at Reddit the medium and heavy winches had the same multipliers and my own testing only shows any difference in strenght if the truck weight is much higher, regardless of winch type. You are welcome to explain further in a later video if you like 🙂

      Also, with phase 8, further fine-tuning of the characteristics of the Wolf Pack supposedly will come from the devs (after all they should "fit" into the off-road game). In addition, in those files there is another vehicle "Hercules Rezani", hidden for now... (as before 49x).
      Personally, I like the 57x 1430 the most, just for greater usability you need to create a mod if you want to use it more universally (ie off-road, ideally with AWD and optional DiffLock in Low, like most US trucks in the game).

      I'm honestly surprised the Transtar and CLT hasn't been given AWD at this point. Kinda feels like Saber is backed into a corner where if something doesn't have AWD people will complain.
      I guess it is partly their own fault though for making so many so overly muddy and not including enough road networks to really use RWD's (to the average player anyway). The tires are fine for me, but the big disappointment are the other two trucks, especially the dual lift axle deserves AWD and the other one as well. The other two have decent tire sizes, but at least all of them should have diff lock. what i find stupid is that all of them have a physically modeled difflock switches on their dashboards in 1st person yet only 1 of the 3 actually has it.
