  • The HH-60H was developed in conjunction with the US Coast Guard's HH-60J, beginning in September 1986 with a contract for the first five helicopters. The variant's first flight occurred on 17 August 1988. Deliveries of the HH-60H began in 1989. The variant earned initial operating capability in April 1990. The HH-60H's official DoD and Sikorsky name is Seahawk, though it has been called "Rescue Hawk". The HH-60H helicopter serves a wide range of applications including VERTREP, strike rescue, special warfare support, MEDEVAC, search and rescue, anti-surface strike. The HH-60H model is designed for extended mission endurance and range and can carry four crew members and 8 passengers.
Hi and welcome to another Heavy Metal Diecast Video. Today's example is another plastic model review from Easy Model. These are completed model's ready-made but instead of being diecast these are made completely from plastic. Today's example is in 1:72nd scale and is the Sikorsky HH-60H Seahawk from the US Navy's HS-7 "Dusty Dogs", AC617, while aboard the USS Harry S Truman. I personally think this model is nice, these plastic renditions are almost as good as their metal counterparts but at much cheaper prices.
I'd like to thank you again for taking the time to check out our video and if you found it helpful at all and can spare the time throw us a like and why not even subscribe ‪@heavymetaldiecast‬
All images/and or footage used with in my videos are owned by their original creators and are only used for a reference guide for viewers to compare against the model depicted in the video. The use of any images or video in any of my reviews is also used out of pure respect in regard to units and/or actual people. I wish to acknowledge all those that have served past and present with their respective nations armed forces with some making the ultimate sacrifice. Political ideals aside, it takes great courage and selflessness to answer your countries call. Thank you.
    Cheers

I am used to plastic models being amazingly detailed...HO scale model trains, from manufacturers like Athearn Genesis, Scale Trains, Tangent, Rapido, etc., so I guess I would expect a plastic aircraft model to also be able to impress, especially when it is a bigger scale than 1/87 HO scale. This one was actually pretty nice. Nicer from lower angles where that center seam line can't be seen. This is my first view of a model from this manufacturer, and it is pretty decent. Thanks for another great review. 🤠👍

These Easy Model ones aren't too bad to be honest. They do have the occasional seem gap here and there. But for the price it's pretty decent!! Thanks for taking the time to check out the video!!!

    Thanks HeavyMetalDiecast.
Had to look up if Easy Model made the HH-60J in 1/72 after seeing your video. The dark red with white center section might do a better job of hidding the center seam. I also thing the U.S Coast Guard colours look fantastic and would stand out in any collection.
One other small point. That protrusion over the cockpit in front of the main rotor is not an antenna but a wire-cutter. Very handy in saving the flight surfaces if the heli should accidentally fly into some power-lines. Looks like there is another one just in front of the tail landing gear on the under-side.

Thanks for checking out the video. And thanks for the heads up on the wire cutter, previous models didn't have this on. Makes sense though and power lines are never good for any aircraft. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I always say I am no expert and am always grateful for peoples input and always happy to be correct for when I stuff something up. And I will most likely do it again in the future, haha. 😂👍

@@heavymetaldiecast easy mistake to make, particularly as all or even all military helicopter are not equipped with wire cutters.

Dusty Dogs! But are they salty- that's the question. Nice model and good detail and the rotor blades did not disintegrate and that must be a win. If none else does the variant or it costs too much these are great. Whilst the models can vary in quality so can the diecast - that too can be a lottery too.

Salty Dogs was already taken, haha. Haha yep another win re rotor blades, I have been giving some side glances to another Corgi Chinook I have yet to open...but still have some flash backs so may wait a little!! To be honest I have found most of these Easy Model one fairly good, just had a Black Hawk that had smudged decals, maybe it was an earlier release and QC is better now. But these are definitely nicer on the wallet, well if people still use wallets, haha

Carrying one big massive missile like looks strange. Must have also made flying it feel strange.

Its like Nascar its always turning to the left!! 😂 But yes I would imagine it would alter the flying characteristics a little, but most likely there is some on board computer system that will counter that. I'd imagine when releasing it too the helo would jerl a little to the right once all that weight was gone!!

Youve got to make sure your insurance company knows of this collection. If the house burns down you wont get shit unless they know about the 100k stash. It has to have its own coverage or you get nothing. Not 50% you get NOTHING.
Last year bloke lost 13000 models in Vic got paid 30k for them. Bought them back for 10k and is still selling them on ebay as water damaged stock and hes not going so well.
Hes lost over 100k plus 5k for lawyer who did nothing for him.

@@1mmickk 13000 models wow, that is a massive collection 😯 yes I get where your coming from. I had that with my WW2 memorabilia, but now the government says you can't make money of most German memorabilia thats hard to insure too. I had that also with some classic cars I had at my house. We had a bad hail storm and they got damaged. I had insurance and auto memorabilia insurance but that didn't cover damage to the unregistered cars only parts 🤣. If the cars were in pieces they were covered 🤣 insurance companies always find an out 🤣 I feel sorry for that guy though. That's a big hit. Can only hope I guess. My models are in a garage setting now so if my house catches fire the garage is separate 🤣
