This is exciting! Also I’m glad that you are doing this instead of me because I am not patient at all!😂 I want beautiful tiny discus babies now!

I enjoyed that. I used to keep and breed my discus and have been thinking of setting up a discus tank again
I love the colour of yours particularly the more wild looking fish of the pair you selected. Where are they from ? I used to use Punchard’s but he’s retired

Would like to see a close up of the two you picked. Pointer for you! The male will have a sharp point on back of the dorsal fin and the female will be round!!!!!

This doesn’t apply to all discus it’s like an 80% chance you’ll get it right, it’s just guessing

I was going to get discus but when I finally got a tank big enough the cost of everything (heating included) went up, but during my reading up on them I saw that you should keep them in large groups. Are you concerned at all about keeping just 4 now that you have removed the pair?

Hi. I’m looking forward following this breeding project👍🏻
Are you using tap water for the breeding tank? Is your tds low enough for the eggs to hatch?

Looking for some help. I have 15 discus in a community tank. 2 pairs have spawned in the tank. 125 Gallon. Using RO and water parameters are fine. They're very healthy and eat 3X a day. They produce fertilized eggs but obviously get eaten by others. So I've set up 2 20 Gallon tanks with the same water parameters, transfer the pairs and all of a sudden they don't eat, they look stressed and depressed. I do regular water changes and feed regularly but they don't seem to change and are much less active. What am I doing wrong? I keep them in that tank for 2 weeks and then move them back to the community tank and they eat and are much more active. any help is appreciated.

    -PH at 5.5-7.5.
-KH low but enough to stabilize the PH.
    -GH dose not matter.
    -Temp 76f - 89f.
-Good stable light and keep it scheduled.
-Paint tank back and sides a lighter color.
-Have a flat light colored surface.
    -Feed well.
-Let tank grow algae Discus are omnivores and the babies will also eat the algae.
-Keep Parents with babies till the babies eat the parents food.
-Sell babies once double the size of a US quarter.
Also I would suggest adding a few amazon sword plants in planter's it gives somewhere for babies to hide if they irritate the parents.
