Stumbled across your videos after a month of keeping bettas and I’ve worked with them so much at my job that I decided to see what the hype was at the time but long story short I watched your videos on breeding bettas and gave it a try and my Galaxy Koi male just laid this morning that was paired with a Koi female, and all I can say is thank you for your knowledge because your videos were very thorough and to the point, love from Chicago🏙
Great job Nick! Awesome you got some discus coming through now. Wish I had a tank large enough to keep some! Maybe one day. I really appreciate you sharing your tips to help others have success as well.
Interesting observation with leaving the lights on for the rams. Do you think the issue could be that they get spooked when the lights abruptly turn off/on? I wonder if you would see the same issue with a more gradual (& natural) light cycle...
Awesome video nick!! Congratulations on all your breeding projects , you and Justin are such a inspiration to everyone whos in the fishkeeping hobby !! Great job!!
I'd really appreciate a video on what treatments and medications are available in Oz. In NZ it is so limited - meth blue, aquarium salts, "wunder cure", acriflavin, and a dewormer (if you are lucky). It was so painful trying to deal with something like columnaris where most (american) articles said how easy it was to get rid of, then promptly listed half a dozen meds which simply aren't available to hobbyists here. I'd be curious to know what you can get on your side of the ditch! Cheers
Oh yeah! You were telling me about those Appistos! They look sick! Always wanted some! Good job on the Discus and Ram breeding, wish you the best of luck with breeding the appistos and Dark Knight pairs!!! 👍
Great to see you figuring out your Discus and Ram breeding. They are all looking great, wish I had the space to do the same. I'm so jealous haha. Great video as always 👍
Love your set up, I have a small tank with one guppy for my son to enjoy. Hoping to get some of your tiny rainbow fish, to bring some joy into lockdown Sydney!
Hey Nick, keep up the great work. Enjoy your videos and the content you share. Great tips on the ram breeding. I too breed them here in the US. They can be frustrating until you get your system for breeding them in place. This is my opinion, as I am not a fish expert (just a hobbyist who loves breeding fish), I do think over time you will stress out the fish if you keep the lights on 24 hrs a day. Someone may have mentioned this in the comments but I didn't read them all. You are spot on regarding the lights as I have noticed this as well in terms of if they were going to spawn or did spawn that, when the lights go off, they may not continue spawning and/or the eggs may be gone in the morning. What I have done (and if you are able to), I either turn down the light intensity on the lights that I can, to a very low sun set/sun rise sort of a glow, or I have some small clip on lights that are more like night lights that I place over the tank. When possible, I try to focus the light on where they were looking to spawn or where the eggs are. This has helped me a ton in the overall breeding process i.e. the fish will continue to spawn and/or the parents can still see/protect the eggs. Just wanted to share my experience as I know everyone has their own method so if it works, then keep at it. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Recently started watching your channel, and I've decided to try breeding some gold angels! I'm curious if you keep any sort of written records on your projects?
So I'm a major fish enthusiasts my self my man and love to breed fish and I see your worried on fish getting sick I intentionally raise fry 10 degrees colder then the last till I hit 50 or 60 degrees overall reason being is I want all my fish to be abel to live with no heater and build and imunity to the cold then I release them into ponds were temperatures change all day and over night helps immune system against ick and pop eye naturally making.fish strong so when you sale they can withstand anything my point is don't worry to much on loosing fish and treatments you will make your lines immune system weaker and when someone gets your fish and dosnt replicate what you do it won't last find ways to naturally take care of sickness and challenge your fish. Just some advice but awsome channel watch it all the time and enjoy 😊
@@jaydencampbell3006 I wood normally agree buy with fry fish there pretty resilant as long as u don't over do it to fast and cooler temperatures expand the life cycle of fish any ways there just ways to in crease the quality of a line.
That's awesome stuff! Been thinking of trying the Apistos too, lovely little fish. I'm trying to breed my African butterfly cichlids again, they had a spawn of only 4 babies somehow the first time but hopefully there's more this time. They're quite skittish but fingers crossed they have success
Hi Mate, just wondering what your PP dose rate is for the discus fry? i have some the same age and have only done the one dose at this stage was going to do a dose again today. I was also told to do an antibiotic dose a few days after the PP treatment just to help with the grow out and repair after the PP Great video lots of babies to look after in the room. Great work
Can you do a video on Corydora breeding please? like Julii, panda, Adolfoi? With step by step on how you do you it? Think that would benefit alot of people for sure!
Hey mate are you not accepting orders online? Trying ti get some peppermints but it's saying you aren't taking orders. I was hoping you get in on this week shipping
Love your vids dude, I have started breeding Black Rams in Washington DC area the past few months. Any tips for getting such a large spawn of eggs like in your vid? I try to feed the parents very well but still only get roughly 100-150 eggs per spawn
Hi there ! I had seen one of your video where you used eucalyptus leaves for the Blackwater effect for your corydoras. Are they good enough and safe? I
