REMASTERED IN HD! Official Music Video for Love’s Been A Little Bit Hard On Me performed by Juice Newton. #LovesBeenALittleBitHardOnMe #JuiceNewton #Remastered
If anyone says that they are idiots. People did it long before her. Hell, Shania Twain or even earlier singers. That's just off the top of my head. Taylor Swift can't take credit for doing anything for the music industry. Except for making it worse.
Many hisotrians point ot Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden" as the first major pop crossover from country, which launched the "Countrypolitan" genre of the 70's.
Pops woulda been 75, today. Crazy how that shit can sneak up on ya...EVEN WHEN YA KNOW IT'S COMING! NEVER PREPARED FOR HOW I WILL RESPOND. Just been in/out of past/present all day..trying to grab a moment. Juice was definitely on the A Side of the soundtrack of my youth
Reminds me a lot of the cartoon vibe, that Twisted Sister leaned into for the We're Not Gonna Take It video. If it wasn't the same director, it feels like they must have gone to the same school.
This woman has got such a wonderful sense of humor! She should have done more acting roles she was really good in this video and queen of hearts and Angel of the morning (which was sad). She can act!
I saw Juice in the early '70's at a State Fair in CA. She was the opening act for Rick Nelson. Her group was AWESOME ! They sang, just snapping their fingers - EVERYONE was up on their feet & dancing on that football field! What a WONDERFUL experience !
Is there ANYONE who doesn't love this video?! I met Juice outside in her tour bus after a concert, so nice and autographed my album. I'm a Female Impersonator and I performed as her (Queen of Hearts) in a pageant once. GONNA PLAY HER GREATEST HITS NOW!
I lost my big sister in 2001, due too an automobile accident. She loved Juice Newton, listened to her all the time when we were growing up. Hearing Juice's songs remind me of her & brings back great memories.
+ForeverFightOn4USC Noone believes the coincidence that you only remember a 15 year old trauma right after Juice Newton songs are featured in a successful movie. If your comment was 14 years old, then I'm sorry for your loss. As it stands, you are full of shit Also, why is your identity tied to a College sports team? Grow up.
+ForeverFightOn4USC Lost my brother to cancer when he was at the age of 30. And there are songs he always liked that triggers the same thing. it's hard to lose a sibling or anyone really close to you when they pass on before their time. And my brother and I used to hit the bars and were good friends with a lot in common. So I understand well!
Back in the 80s when there was great music and singers male and female who could sing a great song that you could understand the words to, everything today is filth music TV movies sports you name it
No is not...she did put humor in the song...to show that in love there is such a thing as pain...and yes...she described that pain as best she could...figuratively...no one in the right mind will do something like that to the loved one...but she showed that for love she is pain...it goes well with a verse in the Bible... *Love suffers all* ...Peace and see the good side of things
With how talented she is as an actress, showcased here, she should have been a recurring guest star on Reba! Can u imagine the antics she and Barbra Jean would have gotten into?! Lmao 😂
I've listened to Juice's music for year but never really seen any of her music videos. I love this one, really shows she didn't take herself too seriously and had a great sense of humour.
Not only did she have the late 70s/early 80s hotness thing going on, but she has a great sense of humor in this video (as well as Queen of Hearts), and it was from a time when country/country-pop was listenable.
Juice's biggest hits were "Angel Of The Morning", "Queen of Hearts", "Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me", "The Sweetest Thing", "Break It To Me Gently" and "In The Heart Of The Night".
Juice came to Frederick OK when I was a small boy in 1984 and played all of her songs: sadly for some reason, I drifted off to sleep, durig the performances, but I remember them... Juice, if you read this and if you remember that time in the early 1980s, please forgive me...
Music from the 70s and 80s are recorded and available for purchase in our modern time. Actually back then maybe there was peace on the home front but L.A. was so smoggy your eyes would tear up if you were there and not used to the smog. San Jose the same way. Juice Newton lives in Los Gatos Peggy Fleming etc. and I haven't been around there for 35+ years it probably is still smoggy in the Summer. We have more toys now than we did back then.
I am crying right now.. Sweet memories of my childhood in the early 80s in Lagos, Nigeria. Primary school, this song brings back memories of people who have gone.. God, thank you for family and the life you have given me. Greater memories now and always..
This video is laugh-out-loud hilarious, and I love the interplay between low-key sad lyrics and the jaunty, upbeat tune. We should all do so well at confronting the ups and downs of our emotional lives.
In the late 19 70's and 1980's in Nigeria, Juice Newton was very popular among many Urban folks and Radio DJ living in the Southern part of Nigeria; especially in he South Western part.
I was just about to comment this. I listened to this song EVERYDAY when I was growing up. It was also on the radio too. Never knew the lyrics, but goodness, all her misfortunes were the best part of my growing up. I just couldn't stop laughing whenever I watched it. lol Kinda funny watching it now as an adult and understanding the lyrics. :) Glad I wasn't the only (Nigerian) one who enjoyed her. My time was in the late 80s and early 90s though. Classics never die.
I also grew up listening to this song in Nigeria. I saw the video but didn't quite understand it back then. I just saw the video and the song now makes a whole lot of sense.
Crossover country-pop began all at the same time in the early 1980's with Juice Newton, Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, etc. Each had several big pop hits that happened to be country too.
I was 13 when this song was popular. I was starting high school and life was confusing, but I remember Juice Newton and she helped me through those difficult times. ❤️
I have never been a fan of Country music per say, but I remember fondly the early 80's when it was common to see all genres of music like Country, R&B, Jazz and Instrumental in the Top 40 of the Music Charts. MTv definitely made a Juice Newton fan out of me in the station's earliest years.
Juice and Swift are similar in appearance and are similar in terms of pushing their music beyond the boundaries of country music. Juice was a bit ahead of her time. #underated
Lost my wife 4 years ago next month after 8 months of being married ......Have a crappy relationship with my dad .....My best friend Mom died at 56 ....... I am still loving life at 48 years young.......
This video was on heavy rotation on MTV when it first came out, then they pulled it, for some reason. I later found out that Juice was criticized for making a "violent" video. Not only is that criticism ridiculous, it's sad that such a great song would be suppressed by "politics." Juice, this is my favorite of your songs, and your ability to laugh at yourself in this video makes it a great MTV gem!
Yes! I never made the connection myself, but yes, they could be sisters! Btw, of the two women on WKRP in Cincinnati, Jan was more attractive, at least to me . . .
Lost my husband 8 Years ago. YOU Nevrer get over a cancer dearh. Lost a brother, 40 year friend and had to.put my dobe down suddenly. Too much in 4 months. So Juice is just a great blessing.
Between this and, “Queen Of Hearts”,’ she was totally killing it on MTV with her adorable sense of humour…
People say Taylor took Country to POP...Juice was way ahead of the times
That was Olivia Newton-John during the 70s.
Juice... my all time fav!
Totally right ,corret corret Queen of Country .July

My mom died when I was 7. One of the few memories I have of her is singing along to Juice Newton on the radio in the car. Thank God for RUclips.
So funny, I think of my mom with this song too. I vividly remember it being on while riding in the car with her
you're welcome Brandon. ❤️️
1982 was a good year.. I remember My grandma Liked Juice Newton.. I remember this song on the radio when we went to Sears!
My only memories of my mother from childhood are tied to this album...
We all need a little Juice everyday, even in 2022.
Absolutely
Every now and then abit of Juice laughs

Oh god YES you said it. Golden as it was back in the 80s
The great country music singer Juice Newton. Music forever.
I'm sorry to anyone who wasn't born in time to live through the 80s
70's, 80's, 90's were superior....
I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before they are gone.
Andy bernard- the office
Long live the '80's
One of the most underrated voices ever!!!… this chick can flat belt it WOW!
this was back when music was music
Music is still music. Just radio music isn't.

I love Juice’s physical comedy in her video clips. So funny!
coulda/shoulda been an actress!
Right about that. She could have been an actress
This video is friggin great. Slap stick humor, 80s vibes, and camp value.
Well said agree
Amen I totally agree.
She is one beautiful woman!
I can't believe how many great songs this woman made... she is just awesome!!! ❤👏❤
my melody agreed
I seen her in concert,I complained about going--not my kind of music.
I was "really" surprised, she gave an incredibly great concert!!!!!
Yes she is just the perfect voice performer .love her style .voice..
And sissy sp.
She's one amazing singer one of my favorite songs by her is Angel Of The morning
It is hard on everyone
I saw Juice in the early '70's at a State Fair in CA. She was the opening act for Rick Nelson. Her group was AWESOME ! They sang, just snapping their fingers - EVERYONE was up on their feet & dancing on that football field! What a WONDERFUL experience !
Hello Karen, how are you doing?
Glad you had fun! Yay live music!
She was hugely popular back then, so it's weird that people today don't even know who she is
I only knew her because in the 80's my dad bought a few if her 45's, but in certain states I'd say there's not much airplay like where I'm from.
And Juice Newton is WAY better than any of the vastly overpaid, undertalented "talents" that we've regressed to.
People these days dont even remember what real music is and thats sad!!!
That's because some weren't born in the 80's
I remember oh I was really young and I liked watching this video along with the other angel song
Summer '82 ... sigh ❤
I was in high school then.
I lost my big sister in 2001, due too an automobile accident. She loved Juice Newton, listened to her all the time when we were growing up. Hearing Juice's songs remind me of her & brings back great memories.
Music can be such an intense emotional reminder of things... I'm sorry for your loss.

Great sense of humor, great musicianship! The world needs more Juice!
The humor looks pretty morbid.
this song so reminds me of 1982 when I was 13 those carefree glorious days.Great times gone forever.
Nonsense! We can ALWAYS go back through our memories.
Hey- I was 13 then too!
I was 12.
I was six at the time
Ben Santiago I feel ya man, I’m same age 🤛
Forget Taylor… Juice forever!!!
How could you not love this song?
Angel in the morning is awesome. What a voice.
Fun Fact : release date of this song was in May 22 , 1982
Thank you
When it was first in the radio?
The month and year I graduated from Furman University in South Carolina AND came out of the closet as a queer man.
First time I heard this song was on a Knight Rider episode "No Big Thing"
Back in the 80s when there was great music and singers male and female who could sing a great song that you could understand the words to, everything today is filth music TV movies sports you name it
this song came on the radio like 20 times a day in '82. Great memories!!! btw this has a killer guitar solo!!
Hello friend, how's your day going so far?
good days back then...we had no idea
Andrew Gold and his killer steel guitar, pretty good I agree, R.I.P. Mr. Gold.
I’ve gotta say, for an early 80s country-pop song, this definitely has a good guitar solo.
Great tune when she was in her heyday. Love it still.
She was soooo fine back then!
Juice Newton has a fantastic sense of humour. I love how funny this video is!
~Dutch
Forgive me for saying this but this is a tad sadistic.
She has a great sense of humor. Her video for "Queen of Hearts" is just as silly.
hurts so good(":
LOL she says *Hard On* :P
Another underrated artist, that didn't get the credit she deserved...
One of the best female singers ever.
Why doesn't anyone just say she was and still is beautiful? Oh, also very talented.
She still is. Loved and still love her. So cute.
She is beautiful and always will be
I always thought she was, and actually I think she got better looking with age...
Juice actually has a great voice and some equally talented song-writing to boot.
agree with you 100%
0:03 that old Mercedes
Juice newton great song from 1982
Fab song! It was featured in an episode of “Knight Rider” (1982) when Michael Knight is driving down the freeway.
This is where I had to search it from also, love a bit of knight rider 😂
Thanks for noting this connection!
S1E8 to be exact, there may be others too
Really appreciate Juice Newton for her contribution in the music world bringing past memory.
Shes so gifted musically, such good and catchy tunes!
Love the humour in this.
Stay so dark..so close to the light. Great Lyric.
With how talented she is as an actress, showcased here, she should have been a recurring guest star on Reba! Can u imagine the antics she and Barbra Jean would have gotten into?! Lmao 😂
I love this woman and her music. I hope she is doing well.
I always enjoy what you share here on RUclips but we're not friends yet, I will love to be friends with you.. how are you feeling today.😍😍😘
I've listened to Juice's music for year but never really seen any of her music videos. I love this one, really shows she didn't take herself too seriously and had a great sense of humour.
@Karl with a K She left the music business in 1985 to be with her children, and spend some time with them.
Not only did she have the late 70s/early 80s hotness thing going on, but she has a great sense of humor in this video (as well as Queen of Hearts), and it was from a time when country/country-pop was listenable.
I love this song and have just discovered this hilarious video. Love the song even more now!
I forgot about this song! Remember the 80s?
Girl had a serious soulful voice and she could rock it too.
Thanks for posting.
I’m telling my kids this was T Swift's first big hit!
Juice's biggest hits were "Angel Of The Morning", "Queen of Hearts", "Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me", "The Sweetest Thing", "Break It To Me Gently" and "In The Heart Of The Night".
listening to this I feel 6yrs old again sitting in the back of the parents station wagon :D

Another great song from Julia Howe Brenna Newton
AKA Juice Newton
I am crying right now.. Sweet memories of my childhood in the early 80s in Lagos, Nigeria. Primary school, this song brings back memories of people who have gone.. God, thank you for family and the life you have given me. Greater memories now and always..
Her music gives me "happy feet."
Big beats for happy feets
This video is laugh-out-loud hilarious, and I love the interplay between low-key sad lyrics and the jaunty, upbeat tune. We should all do so well at confronting the ups and downs of our emotional lives.
I hope Juce Newton got the Quarterback!

I had no idea. Thank you for sharing this.
Yep, I remember NTA Aba in Nigeria playing her songs.
Soundtrack of my youth...bittersweet...simpler times...better times....BEST TIMES
That's an understatement 😅🤣🤣😵💫🎶
I remember hearing this song by juice Newton on the radio in the early 80s when this song was first released

They’re most likely fans but She and Him would perfect covering this, or at least Zooey singing backup for Juice Newton.👍❤️
Boy, Juice took all those injuries like a trooper! 😂
I was 13 when this song was popular. I was starting high school and life was confusing, but I remember Juice Newton and she helped me through those difficult times. ❤️
Best times ever. The 80s will "ALWAYS", be the biggest part of my life.
Wow. Old is best..those days are really golden period for movies and songs
A top 10 hit on Billboard Hot 100 in 1982, along with winning Best Music Video on MTV. This song will forever be an instant classic! 🎉
I will die, just like everyone, I hope you have good memories like me, God bless
a very underrated artist!!! Love this one as well as Angel of the Morning, Queen of Hearts and my fave by her A Little Love.
Wow. People were actually _slim_ back then.
Didn't have fast food and a Applebee's and Longhorn Steakhouse around every corner in the 80s....big difference. Eating out is the thing to do today.

Still a great song and great video!
My friend Johnny Pierce on bass and backup vocals R.I.P. Johnny
Before Taylor swift there was Juice Newton.
I've thought the same thing. Those two should meet and collaborate.
Juice actually has a singing voice. Taylor is just a synth pop star
Except Juice had real talent.
There were many before Taylor Swift, all with stellar voices.
Taylor Swift WISH she was Juice Newton!
She was at the Dubuque County Fair when Queen of Hearts was her big hit.
I absolutely love Juice, been a fan for over 30 years.
I had no idea she had this talent beyond song. 😊😊
This song is the story of my life since I was 16.
What a fine woman! Aged like fine wine too...
The instrumental break beginning at 1:26 is simply stunning!
Andrew Gold. Amazingly talented and extremely underrated.
They were called guitar solos. Popular back then. Listen to old heavy metal classics. They were full of them.
Juice was on top of the world, and then just disappeared.
i miss the old taylor swift
This song was actually quite popular in Nigeria where I grew up
I just realized why the first time I saw Taylor Swift I thought I'd seen her before. I'd take Juice any day.
Juice and Swift are similar in appearance and are similar in terms of pushing their music beyond the boundaries of country music. Juice was a bit ahead of her time. #underated
bmartee Judy would be my pick too
Good point. She does favor her.
Only Juice was singing and in the charts before Taylor was even born.
Love her work.
This video was an early hit on MTV.

Hang with friends. I was your age when I started kayaking, ATVing and Jeeping with friends. Make every weekend an adventure.
They don't make women as pretty Juice anymore! The women of the 70's and 80's had a lot of class and sex appeal.

I had all but forgotten about juice Newton. How could I forget something this fantastic! I am just in love with this song right now!
Man, that went by too fast!
This is a good song. I remember hearing this when i was little.
40 years later and I had no idea how beautiful she is. I'm sure that she's an absolute knockout today.
She reminds me of Jan Smithers (Bailey of WKRP).
Exactly
Yes! I never made the connection myself, but yes, they could be sisters! Btw, of the two women on WKRP in Cincinnati, Jan was more attractive, at least to me . . .
