    Lovely video Jessica and great clothes. I have a big garden in Glasgow and a few things that are nice to plant that will give you nice colour are Azalea - they like semi shade and great in borders. Remember to use ericaceous soil (they like acid rich soil). Another lovely plant is the Hydrangea and peony plants. Great colours. I notice your little trees looked like they were leaning a little (maybe not just how it looked at the angle of the camera). If so you might want to get some thick wooden stakes from the garden centre to help guide them up. We did that with our apple and cherry blossom tress and it worked well. Love your whole vibe and always look forward to your videos ❤

      @FashionStyleEdit  3 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for the advice Gillian, I really appreciate that:) Out of interest do you have to keep the stakes in forever or just until they're matured? I've googled lots of the hydrangeas and they look beautiful plus peonies were my wedding flowers so that will be a nice touch:)

  • @evalindell2757
    @evalindell2757 3 месяца назад +8

    Now, the garden, this is my cup of Tea! I would widen the border in the back and move the lollipops to the middle or a little bit torpares the front. Then put climbing hydrangeas on the fens put hydrangea incradeball between the blimbing hydrangeas and then big hostas between the hydrangeas and all the way in front of the lollipops In amongst the big hostas I would put anemone honorine Joubert. You need structure with shrubs and something climbing in the back and at least a 6 feet wide border! I would look up a garden designer and let him/her just give you the structure then from there you just plopp in things you like! And last! Please stake the lollipops! The are leaning a bit here and there! Well just wanted to give you suggestestions. The weeds will com if the soil is bare so fill it with plants you love instead 😊

      Wonderful tips thank you so much Eva:) I really do appreciate that. Yes I do meed some support on those trees, although they're quite skinny they've really started to lean recently:/ It sounds like lots of people are recommending hydrangeas too so I think they might be the winner, I shall keep you all updated how it goes but thank you again!

    Great video and I have a shady garden so all the suggestions, below are great and lavender too does well. I do like coleus and from my experience, almost all coleus plants do well in warmth and can form bright foliage in fully or partially shaded gardens. Some varieties prefer full sun while others partial sun. I also particularly like the the hebe shrub - they do like sun and mine get some and seem to thrive. Good luck, I live in Vancouver, so azaleas and rhododendrons are very popular here and do well in sun and partial shade.

    Hi Jess, I love to garden and have a few suggestions for you: I also have an area in my yard that is north-facing but mostly sunny, and I have turned it into a pollinators’ garden with a variety of flowering perennials, including asters, phlox, tiny tortuga, hydrangeas and bee balm. These plants offer varying heights and (except for the hydrangeas) attract lots of bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Each year I’ll also mix in some annuals-this season I’m planting dahlias, zinnias and Cardinals Vine (which loves to climb a fence or wall). And I have some tulip bulbs mixed in, as well. They all thrive in this north-side, mostly sunny spot. The key is to have plants that are of varying heights, and varieties that bloom at different times, so that you get color spring through fall. I hope this helps. Happy gardening!
    P.S. You have a charming way about you.

      What wonderful tips thank you so so much Tina, I really appreciate that:) I am writing down all these names of plants and having a google of each one and great idea to mix up the heights. It's funny I could style outfits to my hearts content but when it comes to having any kind of vision in the garden and I feel totally lost! But I'm hopeful with all of this amazing advice from everyone I'm going to get that garden looking a whole lot prettier:) Hope you're having a wonderful week so far Tina and thank you again for the advice1

      Hi Lucy, thank you so much for the advice:) I just looked at images of those in a border and they look absolutley stunning! Can I ask your advice please? One little area seems to collect all the rain (our garden is on a slight slope) would they do okay there or is it best to not plant in that area? Thanks so much for the help I really appreciate it:)

      @@FashionStyleEdit hydraengas like water as when they get too dry here in the summer they droop and wilt. Annabelle are absolutely stunning and such and eye catcher. They also dry beautifully too for the home. Usually cut the dead flowers off in the spring for regrowing. They will be perfect. Let me know how it goes. Xx

    Wooo,gardening!yay!Depnds what you want from your garden ultimately.l would suggest Pinterest to get an idea of the. Vibe you are looking for.On a practical level l would widen all your borders.l know you are going to think no ,more work ,but seriously wider borders will make you garden look bigger and your life easier!Also cover your boundaries a nice clematis Montana will romp away on that fence and Prehaps a honeysuckle as well.l coukd go on but your local garden centre can advise you on what will suit your situation plus look at your neighbours ,what grows well for them will grow well for you.On last thing think if succession in your garden you don’t want it all over by the end of June or all flowering at once.Don’t panic there’s lots of advice on line if you get stuck.look forward to seeing the end results.

They add pops of colour, at different times to your area and the Camelia leaves are lush ever green.

    The cotton knit you wore from Sezane I live in the camel tone too.

    Love the colour of your Vogue sweatshirt on you, really suits you.
    I’ll have a think about the garden, mines south facing so absolutely boiling in the height of summer. Are you after creating a flower bed or just pops of colour alongside your little trees along the back?

    Happy Sunday, Jess. I loved today's Vlog and enjoy your chit chat. It's like you are a friend of mine. You look so good in yellow. I don't do Instagram, so I won't be able to see your 75 day challenge, but I bet it will be superb. I love the t-shirts at COS because they are stylish and the fabric is so sturdy. Planning on visiting England for the first time in late September. London, York, and Bath are on our agenda and one of our stays will be in Liverpool. Would a stop in Manchester be worthwhile? Thanks.

    Hi Jess, a lovely & interesting vlog, as for a garden, if you have cats choose non toxic plants as cats can get very sick from some plants.

    Hello 👋🏽 my friend Jess, I absolutely love Trish McEvoy. She is one of the first cosmetics I tried in my younger years 💄. It is so easy to get into a makeup rut. Pandora is a lovely jewelry collection to have. You can never have too many white tshirts 😊. Great minds think alike, I just purchased a pair of white jeans too 👏🏽👏🏽. The Ordinary Argireline & Matrixyl is Botox in a bottle. I have been using these two products for 6 months & it really works. The key is sticking with using the products. Ooo, that is going to be fun watching your 75 outfit challenge. I added it to my calendar. You have my support. Sorry your former blow dryer had a sudden death, but you got a new one 👩🏼. I always love your vlogs. Thank you 😊. Cheers 😉🌷

      Morning lovely, how are you? Did you manage to have some time off for Easter? I must admit I am new to the Tris McEvoy range but now that I've tried it, I'm obsessed! Love the foundation especially, such a brilliant coverage:) That's good to know re the ordinary, so you mean it gets even more effective over time? Yay for the 75 outfits! Thank you SO much for your support, I must be mad doing that one but I'm always up for a challenge, can't wait to see what you think:) Big hugs Angela and hope you've had a wonderful week:)

      Thank you for asking, we had a lovely Easter. I wore a pair of camel trousers, camel open cropped blazer with a lavender top & my black ankle boots. Because of you, I am adding pops of color to my wardrobe, thank you 😊. Yes, Trish McEvoy cosmetics are amazing. I love the organizer & it makes makeup application so easy. Absolutely, with consistent use, the Argireline keeps your complexion, neck and decollete smooth & supple. Pair the Argireline with The Ordinary Matrixyl for added benefits. You can mix them together & apply daily. I'm excited for your 75 daily outfits challenge. I'm going to join you & do an outfit a day. I might not make the whole 75 days, but I am going to give it a shot. It will help me get my create juices flowing. I'm in a bit of a style rut. This will be fun & exciting. I hope you have a lovely week my friend 😊. Cheers 😉🌷

And so happy to hear you're going to join in! That's fun, and style rut no more! I bet you we discover so many more ways to wear pieces we already have in our wardrobes:) Big hugs, Jess

    Hi Jess, oh I really enjoyed this, a little bit of everything! Congrats to DJ Dave on his new album, how exciting. I just love that yellow, I have similar colouring to you and it suits me well too. I tried the Argireline many years ago but it didn't do much for me although I did get a strange facial twitch whilst using it, it must of been coincidence but I didn't want to chance it so stopped using it 🙈. I'm a very minimal girl when it comes to gardens and like green and white only so might not be much help to you but just bear in mind that an awful lot of plants are toxic to cats, not sure if Mandhu is an outdoor cat but something to consider 😸. Can't wait for the 75 outfit challenge hoping to get some inspiration from you. Take care x

      It's exciting isn't it:) He went to no1 in the beatport chart which is like a industry chart so he's super chuffed. Though I did say to him the other day he should have come with a warning when I met him ie: Your house will never be quiet if you marry this man haha! So happy to hear you're going to follow along for my 75 style challenge, should be fun actually and I'm hoping to discover new ways to wear favourite pieces:) Big hugs lovely, hope you're having a great week:)

    H&M usually has linen tees and tanks in season, they’re a bit thin, though.

      Yes it's quite thin isn't it:/ I bought a tan last year from them actually and ended up styling 2 at the same time which looked nice and seemed to give me the weight I was looking for:)

    So funny…when you were showing the COS trench…literally just before you said about the hood, i was thinking…’oh so cute except i wish it had a hood!’ … then your comment…i think it ends up perfect with the hood, since i work in NYC and have a lot of walking and really try to avoid an umbrella unless its a downpour…heading over to check it out…Thank you!

      @FashionStyleEdit  3 месяца назад +1

      It's such a lovely cardi isn't it, i think I might have to treat myself to that one:) And thank you so much for the recommendation with the lavender, out of interest how would that do in a slightly 'boggy' area? One patch of that border seems to collect all the rain and I'm worried it would be a pain for flowers:/ Thanks so much for watching Karen:)

      @@FashionStyleEdit I think you're right about the North facing garden. If you think of lavender growing wild around the Med, it probably likes a warm dry setting best. (Kath 😊)

    The darker trench definitely better than the same old tan colored trench. Barrel leg pants not flattering. Adds pounds. The leg lengthening flare or wide leg much better.

    I think the Hood on the trench looked really good. But perhaps something that goes out of fashion in the future? So 2020-s when everything looked casual? Good it can be taken off…

      Hi Sandy, I worry about sharing all those outfits on here because I fear there would be so many notifications it would get annoying:/ The only thing I thought about was perhaps sharing on YT too but not allowing the notifications so everyone just sees them when they come to my channel? I'm working on the best solution for this:)
