Very thoughtful and in-depth testing! I like the way you’ve done it! Can’t understand why they seem to dislike u at TM HQ?!? I would go for the TP5 over the X. It seems a bit More control, a fraction more stopping Power over a bit less Spin and gaining some more yards is more useful. Visibility??? Haven’t they stole it from the Callaway Chromesoft truvis?!
Hi Mark, love the review. I've been using the TP5's for quite a while (even back to the Penta TP5). I love the back spin, although spinning off the green sometimes is a pain. I'm only on my second TP5 Pix ball now (before that just using the normal TP5's), and have thought that each of the two balls has stayed actually in very good shape after 3 full rounds each (different to what you experienced). However I found the opposite with the TP5 yellow which was totally scuffed after a single round. I don't use the lining up for putting (a line doesn't seem to help me sink more putts), but the pix certainly helps me identify my ball more easily on the fairway (or in the rough) which I actually really like.
That is very interesting on the wear. I played 27 holes with 1 tp5 2 weeks ago. Sadly, it was struck significantly more than I would prefer, but it wore well.
Nice to see that with the data there actually IS a difference irregardless of how slight. I love this... it's a real service you're doing here Mark! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE test the Snell range!!!
Hey Mark could you include Snell and Vice or do a test comparing those two? I know you've done a Snell test awhile back but I'd be interested in your review of the Vice balls as well and a comparison of those vs the name brand balls. Thank you!
Would like to give the TP5 pix a go, have used TP5 before and like the feel. I like using alignment to help with putting. I’d definitely like to see a big test between all premium balls side by side
Playing their new tour response ball would love you to test it. I am a senior 88 mph club speed with driver and the ball is performing great. Also great around the greens. Cheers from NorCal great to see you out!!!
Only been playing for 3 years now always used a srixon ball... last few rounds I've switched to these tp5 pixs and honestly the spin and stppoing when I want I too is unreal quality quality ball!
I have tried TP5, Pro V1, Bridgestone BXS & Callaway Truvis. I have decided to stick with the Truvis this year. Love the feel/sound. Not tested with a launch monitor so not sure what difference the balls give me.
Mark, Great vid! I have been playing TP5x PIX for a month now and I must say I really like this ball and it's the first premium ball I feel ok paying premium dollars for. I luv the performance. I'm average golfer (13 handi) who enjoys a little more distance off tee and some spin from wedge. But, I also luv the putting visual and do line up when I'm 6 feet or closer. Luv knowing if I struck put well and the visual feedback the ball gives confirms if I did my job. Also, can find my ball easier and NEVER play the wrong ball now. Finally, I can visually see spin on the greens shockingly well so I'm learning what spin does on the green. I think average golfers(10-20 handi) get a better ball in the PIX x then other premiums because you will learn more about your wedge spin and putting strokes WHILE getting a higher performing ball.
I will add that yes, they get scratched consistently . Mark your point on this is right on. I do think they scratch more then most others but still playble and worth the premium to me. Bonus, the color scheme of PIX goes with Callaway Mavrik 3 metal which I got in May and am absolutely smashing!!!!
good video mark, like the format with the flick between shots and data rather than all the data at the end :) Still would love to see lakeballs compared to fresh out the box balls to see how much we are giving away vs the cost. :)
I would love to see you do a premium ball test as you talk about. At the end possibly have a wrap up so that people can see how they compare to each other in the areas that we care about so that we don't need to do the full test like you're doing. I really appreciate this format and the amount of work that goes into it.
Hey Mark, I play the Tp5 currently, I wouldn't use the pix because it's too busy for my liking. I like using the tp5 cause it wears well and offers the spin and feel around the green, which is what i want.
It's nice to hear someone say what I feel. The wear is disappointing. I like there fact there is a difference between them- you could use them for different courses- ie links to parkland. Interested to see the Bridgestone balls tested
Anyone know what balls are more visible color wise? Has there been a test? I don't like wearing my glasses when playing and sometimes I struggle spotting the little devils. Especially in lower light conditions. Cool vid Mark!
Defiantly a test of the Bridgestone Tour B range required. I am actually testing the B-RXS B-XS the TP-5 Pix. I never used the line for putts but more recently have committed to it as part of my routine taking the time to line up the putt and have found that provided I actually commit to the line (and not second guess standing over the ball) that my putting has improved. Once I have picked my line then the focus moves to the pace and stroking the ball down that line. I am however suffering some OCD with the clash of colours between pix and the yellow lines on my Phantom X 8.5! Great video. Would love to see the Bridgestone tested especially the differential of a higher swing speed player (+105mph) plays the supposed lower swing speed ball and vice versa to see the performance differences.
I use the TP5 Pix and I actually find my ball striking better with the Pix. My eyes tend to wander during my swing and putting stroke and having something to keep my focus has really helped me personally.
I’ve played about 20 rounds with them. Play to a 3.5 handicap and started out really liking them. However I too have seen the wear and tear issues and to me it’s becoming to busy to look at while playing. Great ball but I think I’ll be looking else where for a new ball this year? Any suggestions?
I’ve watched your videos for years but never commented. Love the content and appreciate your input. I used to get too tied up in trying to line my ball up and I never felt I could get the balled lined up correctly or my putter aligned perpendicularly to the line on the ball which became frustrating and time consuming. I found a chrome soft truvis during a round and really enjoyed putting with it for two reasons. 1. I didn’t get tied up with trying to align the line on my ball and 2. It’s easier to see how the ball rolls on the green in turn giving me immediate feedback on my green reading ability. Overall I felt like I putt better with the “truvis” or “pix” type ball. I plan on trying the TM Pix as I like the graphics better than the truvis.
Mark i have a very aggressive strike move but when i tested the tp5 and tp5x i did notice they scuff faster than most premium balls. Its why i do not use them and stick to srixon cause durability is a big thing for me when it comes to performance and look.
Once again, the golf guru knocks it out of the park. Great video sir, I've played with the tp5 version of this ball. I was sceptical at first. But to me, it's a unique and solid performing ball. Keep up the good work. God bless you Mark
I'd take the higher spin over a few extra yards on the iron shots everyday. As you say Mark, out on the course you are having to deal with ground conditions, wind and "birds" !
Love the format of these videos especially the way the data is presented. I’ve just started playing with the TP5 and have noticed the slight wear issues in comparison to chrome soft that I was gaming. Getting a noticeable gain on driver carry.
Loved this video. I’ve just moved to the TP5 pix and I’m finding it consistent across all aspects of my game. Completely agree with you about the wear and tear 👌🏼
i play tp5 pix and i really love the alignment and the soft feel. But would like to see all the premium balls in one test.. Maybee the softer in one and the firmer in the other test.
I just tested a sleeve of TP5x’s all over the course and over 18 holes. Stopped and hit multiple wedge shots and balls into greens. Mine actually held up pretty well outside of one getting some cart path love 😂
I’d like to see your data on the Honma TW-X ball. I’ve been using them for a year now, they’re nearly half the price of Pro-V1 etc and I feel I get as good a feel out of them as any ball I’ve used without sacrificing distance.
Absolutely love these balls. I love the instant feedback I can see in the putts. I use a large black line over the printed lineup on the ball. Coming from pro v1 the lower spin was also a huge help because Im a higher spin player. Thanks for the review.
Good video mark. Could you do Callaway super soft against Titleist trufeel? I am looking to move to the Titleist but wondering if it is as good as the Callaway.
I game the tp5x and they don’t wear nearly as bad as what you showed. Wonder if it’s just the tp5 since it has a marginally softer outer shell. And I’m a line up player and I love the design. Has really improved my putts.
I’ve played Taylormade ball for a few years, maybe back 3 generations. Never used a line before trying these, definitely a visual aid and I feel it helps, I gotta test again using a line on ball without the graphics. As for durability, always found the TP5/TP5x to be pour.
I’ve been using project A balls from Taylornade and they seem to wear pretty quick like you showed. I used supersofts from Callaway and didn’t see the wear and tear like I do with the taylormade balls. I love the spin though. Way more spin with Project A ball.
Nice video Mark. Not a line up person myself either but I do like the look of the Pix balls. Personally have just switched to TM Tour Response from Callaway Supersofts. Slightly more expensive but love the feel of the urethane cover. The lads a TXG did a comparison with all 3 and showed the Tour Response sits nicely in the middle of the 5 and 5X too.
I've found using these really helpful, I struggling with alignment off the tee and I've used the markings to help with my setup and I'm hitting the fairway much better and more often, particularly good when using irons off the tee. Only missed one green on a par three so far. I also like the lines for putting, helps me set the club face up correctly. I've had no issues at all with wear. But I'm a 20 handicap so you'll have a better strike than I do.
LOVE these balls...bought 4 boxes TP5 ( buy 3 get one free ) feel great...... only lost one ball....feel nice on the putter...good distance on the driver
Would be curious to know if the picture is from the balls you were hitting into the net in the garden? I'm not saying the wear on these balls is great, but I have always noticed significantly more wear when hitting the ball into a net. Once again I'm not saying these balls wear better or worse than anything else, just my observation.
I Will say the true line path alignment works really well with the taylormade putters. I got custom fit for the Spider X and when you line it up behind the ball it does look great actually .
Using TP5x pix now as it’s piercing against the wind for driver and good distance control for iron. It is good visibility in the bright daylight as well, compared to a plain white ball. Also testing TP5x Yellow but it is too reflective when putting during bright summer in Texas. Yellow one should be good in the winter.
Is there a way to test wind balls. The Z Star XV seems to be renowned for its wind ability..Shane at Portrush for example. Plus the TP5 gets mentioned similarly..not sure how you could test wind cutting /the least disrupted ball flights..but would love to see some 'test'.
I'd definitely use the alignment aid. I'm such a visual line reader when it comes to reading putts so having that extra pattern to line up putts better would be so beneficial to me. Also this was a really comprehensive test. Other golf pros on the RUclipss should take note of how to do a ball test cause this is how it's done.
the data graphing is so good. I use Snell balls but they wear as fast as the TP5s in your vid. I used to game Srixon Q Star Tour and they took an absolute beating and looked amazing. I tried the XV this last week as a test and they were equally as dominant in terms of durability. Thanks for the review, bruh. #testmyballs
Could you do a ball test for slower swing speeds 80mph driver to see if any particular ball provides a distance gain either with or without a loss of spine around the green
I really haven't had wear issues. Right now I'm trying to figure out which one to play. I feel the TP5x for irons is very long. The feel of TP5 for me is amazing. I bounced back and forth over the past two rounds. I like spinny balls, but I also have an insane spin rate.
Mark - could you look at Vice balls ? They cover most ball types from 2 piece to 4 piece and offer very competitive prices once you get above 5 dozen. I have 'sight' issues and only see out of one eye properly and their Neon colour is a huge help. Quite a few of my local club players have used the white "Pro" version instead of Pro V1's
Bought a box of these (tp5x) last week, really like the line up system when putting, I wanted to test to get my iron spinn down a bit. Seems to work! 👍⛳
It would be good to see at some point comparisons of the data from each premium ball across the brands. TP5, PROV1 etc to see what the differences are.
What is causing the x to go higher with 7 iron even though it's lower spinning? I always thought it was the backspin lifting the ball up. Sorry if the question is dumb
I just switched to the tp5 pix version from the Pro V1 and have been super impressed. I gained some quite impressive distance numbers over a few days of testing against the Pro V but did notice some cover issues. But at $29 US a dozen for the 2019 version, it's fine -- great ball. I tried the tp5x when it first hit the market and didn't like it but really like this newer tp5 version.
Hey Mark, Have you ever tested the Seed ball range from Ireland. they are classed as premium balls. I started using them due to price point mainly as i use to use Pro Vs Please test Seed SD01 and SD02 as a comparison against each other and maybe Pro Vs. other youtubers have completed these tests but i find your testing is very comprehensive as you test all fasits of the game. Keep up the great vids and love the cousre vlogs.
Would love to see the Mizuno RB Tour's tested. You have always said Mizuno is a great brand, but are only respected by the public for their forged irons.
I've been gaming the TP5x for a couple of months now. For me it seems like the quality really varies from batch to batch. The first dozen were really good. Above average wear and the line system looked really good. However, the second dozen I picked up wore a bit quicker and the lines didn't seem to be straight on the golf ball. I even tried to do a black sharpie line over the printed one and it became even more apparent that the lines were not straight. Very disappointing. I really love the perfromance of the ball and I like the lines when they are straight but for a $45 a dozen ball, quality control issues should not come about. As always great video Mark.
Go Massive! all premiums, Really like the way your doing ball tests Mark. I know this is tricky but I would like to see a discussion on aero dynamics as I think people think launch monitors capture everything but this is a huge grey area! Has Mark written all over it!
Haven't used the pixs yet but I did think the Tp5 and Tp5x did wear quicker when I i played with them. Only played them bc the rep gave them. Didn't mind the performance but just had to go back to the trusty Prov1.
Wow! That club face with ball-bits in the grooves reminded me of the 1980s, shearing off bits of the surlyn cover of Top Flite Pluses with my Wilson 1200 LT sand wedge.
funny to hear you say you were disappointed in how the cover was scuffing. I just switched to the TP5x because the proVx covers have not been very durable for years. But I found the TP5x very durable.
TP5x was just to low spinning for myself when I tested. I liked TP5 but found other premium balls that were cheaper performed the same or better. But I'd happily play the TP5 again.
A test of the new Bridgestone range would be my choice.
Ive been comparing the tp5 to my Bridgestone 330s.. (bluebox).. seems very comparable but the 330 do a little better around the green.
Yes Bridgestone test next! 🧐
Definitely Bridgestone! They’ve had good balls for a few years but no shouty shouty! BX and BXS 👍🏻
It would be interesting to see this done with Vice
Hi Mark, love the review. I've been using the TP5's for quite a while (even back to the Penta TP5). I love the back spin, although spinning off the green sometimes is a pain. I'm only on my second TP5 Pix ball now (before that just using the normal TP5's), and have thought that each of the two balls has stayed actually in very good shape after 3 full rounds each (different to what you experienced). I don't use the lining up for putting (a line doesn't seem to help me sink more putts), but the pix certainly helps me identify my ball more easily on the fairway (or in the rough) which I actually really like.
The graphs with standard deviations are so good Mark! Best way to explain this data, well done!
Love your ball tests. Especially with the graphs for comparison. Great job.
That is very interesting on the wear. I played 27 holes with 1 tp5 2 weeks ago. Sadly, it was struck significantly more than I would prefer, but it wore well.
Thanks Mark - great content. Might be fun to compare some of the DTC balls (ie, Snell vs. Vice?)
Thank you!
Thank you professor. I absolutely love this format. Please keep these coming. Nerd heaven!
The premium ball test would be great. Love this style of data presentation. Great work
Would like to give the TP5 pix a go, have used TP5 before and like the feel.
Great vid, have you done the same thing with pro V and pro VX?
Only been playing for 3 years now always used a srixon ball... last few rounds I've switched to these tp5 pixs and honestly the spin and stppoing when I want I too is unreal quality quality ball!
Hello Mark, we'd love to see you testing our Inesis Tour 900. We're going to send you a dozen. :)
INESIS TOUR 900 as good as PROV1 or TP5 but half the price :)
Would be amazing indeed 👍
Best ball ever ⛳️👀
More and more players seem to play with Tour900, agree for a test!! Mark, your turn to play! :)
Une douzaine ! Vous êtes pingre.
I have tried TP5, Pro V1, Bridgestone BXS & Callaway Truvis. I have decided to stick with the Truvis this year. Love the feel/sound. Not tested with a launch monitor so not sure what difference the balls give me.

Wish i have seen this before I purchased TP5s last week. I think i need the TP5x based on this vid. Great info again Mark keep it up.
I will add that yes, they get scratched consistently . Mark your point on this is right on. I do think they scratch more then most others but still playble and worth the premium to me. Bonus, the color scheme of PIX goes with Callaway Mavrik 3 metal which I got in May and am absolutely smashing!!!!
good video mark, like the format with the flick between shots and data rather than all the data at the end :)
Still would love to see lakeballs compared to fresh out the box balls to see how much we are giving away vs the cost. :)
Just want to say this is a brilliant test Mark well done. Can you tell os what golf cource you are playing every time you are out there.
I would love to see you do a premium ball test as you talk about. At the end possibly have a wrap up so that people can see how they compare to each other in the areas that we care about so that we don't need to do the full test like you're doing. I like using the tp5 cause it wears well and offers the spin and feel around the green, which is what i want.
Good test. I played the PIX last week and I loved the feel of the ball. I think it looks awesome too, something very out there and very different
It's nice to hear someone say what I feel. The wear is disappointing. I like there fact there is a difference between them- you could use them for different courses- ie links to parkland. Interested to see the Bridgestone balls tested
Excellent detailed review. Seeing the differences in performance with multiple clubs is so important.
Always setting the standard for reviews of any type.
I’ve played about 20 rounds with them. Play to a 3.5 handicap and started out really liking them. However I too have seen the wear and tear issues and to me it’s becoming to busy to look at while playing. Great ball but I think I’ll be looking else where for a new ball this year? Any suggestions?

I'd take the higher spin over a few extra yards on the iron shots everyday. As you say Mark, out on the course you are having to deal with ground conditions, wind and "birds" !
Love the format of these videos especially the way the data is presented. I’ve just started playing with the TP5 and have noticed the slight wear issues in comparison to chrome soft that I was gaming. Getting a noticeable gain on driver carry.
Is the TP5 pix softer than the normal TP5? Was gaming the normal TP5 for a year and never really had wear issues, changing the pix 9 holes in.
Excellent ball test, informative and interesting. Well done 👍
Love the graphs ... never played TM balls always a pro v1x but good to see differences between models
Would love to see this test with the Bridgestone lineup. Well done!
Classic Crossy solo review. excellent, exxxxellent! Mornin' y'all!
Loved this video. I’ve just moved to the TP5 pix and I’m finding it consistent across all aspects of my game. Completely agree with you about the wear and tear 👌🏼
Love the new format Mark. Would like if you did all the premium golf ball brands.
Thanks Mark. Haven't tried these yet, I game the ERC and cant fault them for my game.
I just started using the line and it really helped me, although i am conscious to try to do it quickly. This pattern looks interesting
Don't rush yourself mate. Always take the time you need. Your round is just as important as anyone else's. You've paid the same to play as they have.
i play tp5 pix and i really love the alignment and the soft feel. But would like to see all the premium balls in one test.. Maybee the softer in one and the firmer in the other test.
Great vlog and data comparison as usual 👍😊
Would be interested in seeing a review of the updated callaway chrome soft balls.
Great ball test this, really enjoyed it!
Would love to see a premium ball comparison. Have been using the Z Star for years now and have loved it.
I switched from ProV1 to TP5 pix this year and I love the tp5!
Absolutely love these balls. I love the instant feedback I can see in the putts. I use a large black line over the printed lineup on the ball. Coming from pro v1 the lower spin was also a huge help because Im a higher spin player. Thanks for the review.
Would be interesting to see a premium ball comparison. Currently use z stars and have stuck with them for a while now.
Good stuff. Really like the method for testing in these recent ones.
I’ve played Taylormade ball for a few years, maybe back 3 generations. Never used a line before trying these, definitely a visual aid and I feel it helps, I gotta test again using a line on ball without the graphics. As for durability, always found the TP5/TP5x to be pour.

Just got some Friday... And yes after 18 I noticed they get trashed a little quick... Thinking it's the soft cover...
Is there a way to test wind balls.

Snell MTB-X is the best ball I have used. So long and spins amazing.
Would love to see the difference between the new tour preferred and the tp5
What new Tour Preferred?
@@kylejeffery89 sorry tour response
Switched to TP5 pix this year, loving the feel of them. Have not seen any difference compared to other premium balls when it comes to durability,
I'd definitely use the alignment aid.
Love the TP5X and the 3+1 4DZ box set, it's all I play these days, and it seems longer then most even in cold weather
Could you do a ball test for slower swing speeds 80mph driver to see if any particular ball provides a distance gain either with or without a loss of spine around the green
Great review, would love to see one for Prov1 vs Prov1x
Very interesting mark , i moved from the tp5x to the Vice tour pro due to price, but really think its as good if not better and more hard wearing.
I really haven't had wear issues. Right now I'm trying to figure out which one to play. I feel the TP5x for irons is very long. The feel of TP5 for me is amazing. I bounced back and forth over the past two rounds. I like spinny balls, but I also have an insane spin rate.
Hey Mark, do you guys get the Snell ball in the UK?
Mark - could you look at Vice balls ? They cover most ball types from 2 piece to 4 piece and offer very competitive prices once you get above 5 dozen. I have 'sight' issues and only see out of one eye properly and their Neon colour is a huge help. Quite a few of my local club players have used the white "Pro" version instead of Pro V1's
Bought a box of these (tp5x) last week, really like the line up system when putting, I wanted to test to get my iron spinn down a bit. Seems to work! 👍⛳
I love my TP5 pix balls. I love how They spin and i love there smoothnes and my confidence when i stay behind These balls. Especially on the green
It would be good to see at some point comparisons of the data from each premium ball across the brands. TP5, PROV1 etc to see what the differences are.
Excellent review as always Mark
I started using them due to price point mainly as i use to use Pro Vs
Please test Seed SD01 and SD02 as a comparison against each other and maybe Pro Vs. other youtubers have completed these tests but i find your testing is very comprehensive as you test all fasits of the game.
Hi Mark, Have you ever tested Seed golf balls? If not any chance of one I’d be really interested in your opinion on them 👍👍
Also great test on the Pix was interesting how much damage they took
Yeah go through all the premium ball. Be interesting to see if there is any difference between comparable balls in each range
I’d like to see you try the Bridgestone balls. Claiming the swing speeds will determine which type you should then use. Is it that simple??
Go Massive! all premiums, Really like the way your doing ball tests Mark.
