    Hi Paul - I've always enjoyed photography this year I got an entry level DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T7. I also purchased a Canon EF 75-300 mm f/4-5.6 III. Even though it is an entry level camera I am pleased with the photos it takes. We are going to Costa Rica in February looking forward to taking lots of pictures of the wildlife and landscape. Really enjoy your videos I've learned quite a bit since watching them. Keep up the good work.

    I just opened my closet and found my photo bag unopened in 2 years. The kid in me wants to do photography again, but the adult don't have time between work and more work. All my funds are being depleted by the house we are renovating (same with energy), but I am hoping somewhere in 2024 to start shooting again, and to focus some time on the analog photography. I have Nikon (something old, don't remember number) loaded with BW film from over 3years back, some frames left, and in the new house I am going to need a darkroom. So basically nothing new I have my eyes on, but a lot of old, cause if my analog endevour picks up I will be looking for medium frame analog. So Happy Holidays lads and Happy new year, maybe some of those dreams and wants will happen.

    I really find your videos he even thought I'm a longtime old timer of over 50 years in photography. Calling gear entry level has always bothered me. I use a canon t7 which has been used extensively on you videos. I don't believe the gear is entry level it's the experience of the one using the. I have done professional photography for a lot of years and suspect thinking back all the gear I've used would be considered entry level but the results I've had with it my costumers have had no complaints. Recently I had taken a shot of a reg tailed hawk and it was requested for a Christmas gift. It was taken with my canon t7 an a canon 75-300mm lens. I really don't want people to think less expensive can't be used to do great sharp images for their clients. I've learned lots from you videos. I've been at this for a long time and there is always more I can learn to help me use what I have. The best gear is what you have and use. Photography is art with the eye not the brush.

    I just got the Sony A7iv a few months back and I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get more lenses and keep adding to that shutter count! Also, absolutely love the Peak Design straps, those changeable buttons are a total game changer.

    I bought a used RP and a new R10 this year,I was using a 80D and 90D until I get the RP and felt in love with mirrorless.I sold the 2 D's.I do mostly wildlife and the R10 is my perfect fit and the RP for lanscape.The R10 is pretty sharp and fast at 23FPS ,I get almost 100% keepers on flying birds compared to less than 50% with the D's.

    I am ot the sort who will not buy new. More value from your money buying used gear from an authorized dealer who will warranty it. I bought lots of cameras this way for peanuts comparatively. I don't need the latest bodies. I just bought a lightly used Sony a7iii, and this last summer an a7Rii. I saved tons got the bodies I really wanted. I also bought a Canon 1DX and 1D mk.4 used both also in terrific shape. Those are my everywhere cameras, and they work a treat. The a7 cameras all double as my 4K UHD video in a pinch, but I have a Panasonic AG-UX90 4K UHD I also bought used, and a Canon C100 Cine Camera, yes you guessed it used. Also traded in a Sony a6400 and a7ii for other things. The cost for new to me won't fit my budget because I am huge on lenses. My favorite is a Canon L lens 70-200mm. Also bought you guessed again used. Bought the Sigma MC-11 adapters for the Sonys to take the Canon lenses as I am not paying for Grand Master lenses. Some of the other Sony lenses sure. But I can crossover to the Sonys with my Canon glass easily. To me it isn't about new, it is about what works great for me. I have other hobbies too, and sinking all my money into photo gear is not happening, but I carefully shop for values, and come out very well. Even use my Canon C100 as a web Camera in a pinch. Just with a cheap HDMI to USB input when need or my Sonys.

    One last thing, I am looking at Nikon Z 40mm. I like the idea of having a hand strap. I already own the PD anchors and the clutch looks like a good item at $40 USD.

    Hi paul, i left a comment and it said COMMENT FAILED TO POST. Hope you get this one, i do like the Cuff Strap Wrist Strap easy to attach and easy to take off. My gear that surprised me was my Nikon 80-400mm lens, comparing it to my 55-200mm lens, the 80-400mm lens is sharp even at 400mm length and it is weather sealed. But my 55-200mm lens is not weather sealed. Thanks for this informative and enjoyable video. 😊

    Hi Paul, my photography aim going forward is one which is being forced upon me by my health. Due to osteoarthritis, I need to go smaller and lighter on camera and lenses. I’ve been really happy with my canon 80D and lenses which vary from ef s 10-18 up to Sigma 150-600 but I’m really struggling with my hands and wrists so its time to trade it in . I’m looking at Fujifilm X S20 as this seems like a very capable all-rounder. Any thoughts on this choice would be most welcome. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what you come up with from London

      Hi Paul, the X-S20 is a great camera, certainly considerably lighter than an 80D and packed with features and very customisable. There is also a great range of lenses available.
      Best wishes to you.
      Paul.

    Paul. You know you show all of the other cameras, but you never talk about Pentex cameras why is that?

    • @photogenius
      @photogenius  7 месяцев назад

      To be honest, the cameras that I feature and use are largely influenced by the cameras that I use and own myself, plus the cameras that I see people bringing along to my courses and workshops. I hope to expand what I am able to feature moving forward and this year I started including Fujifilm cameras which have become increasingly popular. I also want to start featuring Sony cameras in the New year and it would be great to feature Pentax and Olympus as well. Of course budget also plays a huge part in this and restricts what I can do.
      I do feel that the tips and advice I share can be applied to just about any camera type and would like to thank you for watching and for the feedback.
      Best wishes
      Paul @ Photo Genius.
