Brutus brings 'Distance' at Fort Napoleon! This fort was constructed in the sand dunes close to the mouth of the harbour of Ostend (Belgium) in the year 1811. During the War of the Fifth Coalition, Napoleon Bonaparte expected a British assault from the sea. But... the British attack never materialised and the fort was used as for troop accommodation and as an arsenal until the end of the French occupation in 1814 when it was abandoned.

I was actually at this show, and let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster of emotions! It was one of the first shows in Belgium after the lockdowns, so you can imagine the excitement. They had strict rules for social distancing and limited attendance, but it didn't matter. So happy it was with Brutus.
that explains the neat and even spacing. and here i was just thinking, ah thats a nice venue and people are nicely distanced.. heh

This sounds even better than the album, I always wanna hear more bass on Brutus tracks since they’re only a three piece. On this recording the bass is so huge and prominent. Love it!

Another massively talented band in the Sargent House roster. Nest is one of those albums that when you finish listening to it..you get sad it's over. I can't wait to hear what they create next!

You can mic up the guitar amps the same way as in the studio with dynamic mics. Drums are harder, but they are playing in a big open air space, there are less reflections then in a medium size venue for example. Also there's post processing, and they probably recorded it in multiple tracks. But most importantly, whoever did the mix later, is also a well skilled studio engineer. :)

Very cool! It's always nice to see rock music in very old places like Pink Floyd did it in Pompeij or at last Anna v Hauswolff. It also reminds me to the Dunajam festivals.

i hope people can truly appreciate this band. i admittedly stumbled upon them and so glad i did. I'm now a new fan - eagerly awaiting more. hope you all appreciate the talent it takes for 3 - and particularly a drummer/lead vocals like stefanie - to make this sound. truly amazing. would go front row at a concert of brutus in the US!

This was a show during covid so people couldn't get any closer. sucks but at least there was a show.
