How do you put the case in 4wd when assembling??
its kinda hard to explain without a video, and not going to pull the case again hopefully
Hmm and I needed to see how to pull that 6-gear planetary so I could swap in a different input shaft😬
Sorry man, did you get it figured out? if not I can see if Alex can hop on here and give ya some pointers
@@DaysofPainandVictory no worries, yep I got it done. There was another snap ring.
Thanks for the video!! Very helpful. Just one question. At one point you said Ford made a "special" tool to push something in between 2 tabs. I didn't see you push anything in during reassembly. I can't figure out what the tool is, what it's for, and whether I should pay the $100-$200 for it. D) But maybe if it's a 1-time-use-$300 tool, I'll buy it just to have it.
In the top of the case (as if it was installed) there are two tabs that are about in the middle, it just helps get the case apart. I didn't use the tool. A guy could make one pretty easy with a rod coupler and a bolt. If you hit it with a hammer it will break ( ask me how I know)
@@albop03 thanks!
Editingings is easy when all you gotta do is add the music, haha
haha yeah! not too bad! Time to get some more footage from ya, build that motor for the BBW!
What's the name of the double tuning fork tool you used to separate the rear half off the casing @ 2:53?
I think its just a steering wheel puller, I'll have to ask Alex
How was the removal/installation process? I just bought a remanufactured TC and am looking to tackle the challenge solo this weekend. Not particularly excited
Alex pulled it by himself, I’ll see if he can chime in here and give ya some tips
Honestly not that bad, I pulled it solo in about half an hour, install it's nice to have a second set of hands to line stuff up
Is there a gasket between the case halves? Mine seems to be leaking there, but I can't find a case gasket anywhere. Perhaps I just need to split it and fine sand it, then reassemble.
We just used RTV
OMG love that dub truck.......good vid. HF to the rescue
I need to do some work on that old girl
nice video bro
Thanks!
Any issues with using the stretched chain
not so far!
Do you know the part number for the rear output shaft bearing that is seated in the back half of the case? (03' F250 4x4)
if you google QU50249 that should get you in the right direction, be sure to do your own research though, good luck!
When installing the tcase do you put a gasket or rtv between the tcase and transmission?
yes we used RTV, there is no rear seal on the transmission
Yea that first snap ring was a bitch, i use two screw driver and stretched it out.
I have a question
I broke my manual transfer on my 99 Ford súper duty and i replace it for an electric transfer si i dont know how to conect it so i can use the 4x4
Can you help with that?
I'll see if Alex can help you out, it's his truck
