Hello! I'm far from a pro even I was in the french army in my twenties (hum 30 years ago...). I know about the red light, but what blue and green are made for? Regards from Southern France !
The human eye is more receptive to green light than red light, so tactical flashlights fitted with green bulbs allow hunters to see further and better. Green lights also allow for better contrast at night, making them ideal for hunting darkly colored animals, such as feral hogs. Blue light creates a fluorescent reaction that makes blood stains and oil easier to identify, with oil turning into a darker black under it. It also has characteristics that hunting enthusiasts count on in tracking the blood of injured prey. Industrial workers also use this for equipment inspection. Per Google
I liked your "stupid man" explanation. Some people just *do not* understand that _quality_ costs less, in the long run, than the El Cheapo version you'll have to keep replacing every time it craps out.
Appreciate the heads up on your update, I appreciate your time and effort to bring us your reviews and videos, keep doing what you're doing brother 👍👍👍✌🤙✌🤙🤙🤙🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Ultraviolet light is good in the south western states or any place with scorpions. Ultraviolet light like black lights makes it really easy to see their exoskeleton and night they glow.
Yeah I've been using my black diamond spot 300 for about 5 years now, if it ever fails I'm getting a new one forsure. I doubt with what I put it though so far I could even make it fail on purpose though.
Those LEDLenser options are pretty nifty. My _personal_ choices for lighting are: • Fenix UC35 usb-rechargeable with a white-light diffuser tip & a red-light filter. I can use it as a normal light, hang it by the clip from a ridgeline with the white diffuser for a camp light, etc. • NiteCore NU32 usb-rechargeable headlamp • Olight S1R Mini Baton. A very small, powerful backup that I can clip to a ball cap bill for a headlamp, use the magnetic base for sticking under a car hood, etc. Again, just the choices I find work for me & sharing here in case anyone finds these options interesting.
I picked up a UCO lantern from your influence page, WOW !! It's awesome!!! So bright on high, I don't need that much light. I like the way the light turns up the lumens from low to high like turning up volume. Thank you sir. 😂
My favorite for a couple of years has been the Streamlight Sidewinder Compact, It can use CR123, AA or AAA batteries. Expensive but worth it. There are a lot of headlights out there to sort through so thanks for the reviews!
i had one, great light. but sadly after few nasty drops ( i admit, it would kill probably other headlamps too) switch tore off and permanently shut off the lamp. i did fix it, but cant vouch if its still waterproof.nice lap if you're willing to spend some more $$ for.
@@ApocGuy , And I thought that could break anything. I use mine every day or night, I work in a lot of dark holes. I use it strictly as a head lamp so it's either on my head around my neck or in my pocket. Want to get another one to clip on my bag molle webbing.
I only use rechargeable items on hikes (headlamp, torch, phone, garmin inreach explorer+, steripen and gopro). That way I know each item is at full capacity when I leave. I can recharge each item with a power pack on the hike. They may cost more, but in the long run, I don't need to buy batteries and I don't need to drive to the shop to get replacements and I am not guessing when the battery will die.
I have used Princeton Tec in the past, and have found them to be very durable and reliable. In fact, I've never had one break of fail on me yet. Cheers from Winnipeg.
As always thanks for the video. I personally prefer headlamps and Lanterns with a single On/Off switch with no extra modes. I also try to utilise the recharchable 18650 Battery for all my equipment.
Thanks Corporal, I love headlamps! Hands free is the way to be, especially if you have a rifle or shotgun. The blue light is good for blood tracking animals in the dark. Nice to have the red and green too. I especially like the 10-600 lumen range. Top notch!
You definitely shed some light 💡 on this subject. I’m a UCO man so I’m definitely gonna get the mini madrona. Thanks Corporal Kelly for lighting me up on this subject. Thanks for sharing and we’ll catch ya on the next adventure. ATB Mike

I have a Ledlenser mh10 that survived an intense cave trip mounted on my helmet -including being submerged. My back up was a Princetontec. It didn’t get used and was inoperable when the trip was over. My son used an energizer. It had water in batteries when we got done. His back up was a Princetontec too. It was wet inside but still worked when I checked it. I think ptec May have had some issues by what I’ve read on reviews. They did send me two new ones that are updated (brighter too) but we haven’t used them yet. I think my favorite headlamp is the black diamond revolt. It can recharge or use AAA, not sure on water proofness yet. My favorite light is my Fenix CL09.
Dunno how I managed to miss this particular video for so long. But I'm happy to say that about a month ago I upgraded from my Black Diamond headlamp to the LedLenser MH8 by pure coincidence. I couldn't be happier with that upgrade if I tried. Glad to see that Corporal agrees, kind of reaffirms my choice of headlamp.
Hey Bud, Awesome show. As a viewer from UK, I'd recommend checking out a company called OLight. Extremely tough kit and can definitely take a serious amount of beating. One RUclips reviewer put the light in water, put it in his freezer whilst the light was on and it was still alive and alight the next day. To get the ice off, he threw the light out of his upstairs window multiple times then decided to cook the light in his oven!
That magnetic lanyard on the uco is good to go. I am/was an electronics tech/installer. The best(only)light back then was the maglite. I have a few different maglites that I keep to scavenge parts. Even your emergency/light duty fishing kit was made from a plastic flashlight body. I agree on the cry once philosophy but will buy cheap flashlights in order to use them 'til they break then mod them to my satisfaction. Of course this is a specific situtation. Generally speaking I will eat rice and beans for a month instead of buying trash.
Finally got to use my MH8 in the field. I'm quite impressed with how much power it packs! It doesn't "seem like" much when you are playing with it inside, but out in the field, it just kills it. It's like a mini searchlight! As I was out exploring, I was confronted with a pitch black country farm road (path?) lined with trees, and thought, "oh crap" do I really want to risk going down this road (we have lots of wild boar running around), but I fired up the MH8 and it light up the path for at least 100 meters ahead of me. Great for looking through the fields for animals as well.

As a technician who has used flashlights for 30 years ,I can say flashlights have come lightyears from 30 years ago. Back then Maglite was the only good light and it is weak compared to the cheapest light now days. I still have Maglites that I still use, but I prefer leds now. LED way better. Just wish Maglite had kept up with technology. They made great products in their days. My go to light now is LuxPro. They are tough, reliable, bright and batteries last forever.

I am super happy with the Petzl Tikka (similar design/features & less expensive than the Princeton Tec Vizz). I still stay away from rechargeable-only devices. Nice Weatherwool.
Always great Shawn!!! Thanks for doing the work! Hey I bought the same headlamp you did in your Walmart $250 video. It’s fantastic. Not to take away from this one here but just to let you know that thing is very comfortable. I love it.
Some excellent features and options on those - nice upgrade. I’m a Fenix guy, mostly because I use their PD35TAC for work. I have my eye on these though.
Those are nice looking lanterns and nice enough to have and I have two headlamps, and two regular lanterns which I keep in my backpack. They are nice and one of the headlamps have a rechargeable battery pack in it, and I keep both for camping out and if I didn't have those I would want the ones you showed here.
Interesting choice, Corporal I think you would like the Luminaid solar labterns and the Olight Perun 2. These are what I use, I think youd like them, check them out. Great video as always.
A very robust and in my opinion the *best headlight* is the *Armytek Elf C1* It is nearly indestructible and has great performance. It is waterproof, has many brightness modi great flood and throw. Works with a standard rechargable Li-ion 18350 cell.
Wouldn't that depend on some of your other needs? Do you need insect protection? Do you it to protect against sun exposure & weather? Do you need multi-person? Do you need ultra-light for long-distance or do you car camp? That said, I think the Backwoods Bungalow that he reviewed recently is probably a good starting point. ruclips.net/video/-E7xg9MPfyY/видео.html
Great review, Corporal! Like the way you showed all the options! Question: where did you get that anorak you're wearing and what is it made of? Looks nice and warm! :)
Great work! I love flashlights and head lamps. My first headlamp was a princeton tech as well. i have upgraded many since then and I save for quality items as well. Most of my kit revolves around AA battery technology now. Have you a solar / cranking infield battery recharge option to go with your setup? I appreciate the videos and found your channel tonight and enjoy watching the videos.
I'm a common man, I find my flash lights dumpster diving. Repair the ones thrown away by the stupid man [college students] What I want to buy is a multitude wave length lights that can be useful for gem and minerals identifications.
I learned a lot from my eldest brother who was a Royal Marine Commando but you fella have taught me more which I didn't think possible. You are one of a kind keep the videos coming Corporal the same rank as my brother.
I use a Princeton tech headlamp( I’ve owned two, but I think both have been duds; the illumination is terrible). I may upgrade to a better model. For a lantern, I use the Black Diamond two in one Lantern. Small, but great illumination and the flashlight mode is a backup to when my headlamp dies.
You ever try out Fenix brand lights? I’ve got the pd35 and the matching headlamp for several years now and love them. I even through the pd35 in the pool one night and lit up the pool for a pool party haha
How about this point of view maybe you have to buy what you can use in the moment there are some people that are in situations where they have to have some type of lantern her life due to Lifestyle and then they have to save up later on
Look there are some circumstances in life where you're in a situation where you have to buy something to get you by until you can save up for that item we're not all made of money sometimes people are very poor and need to have they have no power I live in Alaska where a lot of people start out from nothing with nothing they don't have power they don't have heat and all that so you have to grab yourself some small cheap items to get yourself through until you can have the opportunity to save up for the things that you want and that's what I'm talkin about I enjoy your videos usually but it's pretty much like you're calling someone that has to get something to get them by stupid and that's not right man that's what I was trying to explain and I hope you understand that I'm not coming to you with any malice or meanness I'm just coming to you with another point of view
The only failure to your success is the b.s. Lies you keep telling yourself .. that I agree with 💯 percent .. the new gear reviews are appreciated.. it helps in determining what is right for me and what is not right for me .

weatherwool.com
Seeing as how their anoraks START at $365.00, they'd damn well BETTER be nice and warm.
Repair the ones thrown away by the stupid man [college students]
What I want to buy is a multitude wave length lights that can be useful for gem and minerals identifications.
dumpster diving is poor man, nothing wrong with it but that's what it is.
A great video again fella.
I learned a lot from my eldest brother who was a Royal Marine Commando but you fella have taught me more which I didn't think possible. You are one of a kind keep the videos coming Corporal the same rank as my brother.
Very good review and details. Thanks.
Good ^^
한국말도 했으면 좋겠네요 ^^
캠핑조명 ^^ 감사드립니다.
감사합니다
I use a Princeton tech headlamp( I’ve owned two, but I think both have been duds; the illumination is terrible). I may upgrade to a better model. For a lantern, I use the Black Diamond two in one Lantern. Small, but great illumination and the flashlight mode is a backup to when my headlamp dies.
So Ledlenser is rechargeable but can they still take regular batteries? For a bugout scenario, they may be packed away and thus, not charged.
there is a rechargeable battery pack in it. just take it out if you are concerned
Thank you!!
You ever try out Fenix brand lights? I’ve got the pd35 and the matching headlamp for several years now and love them. I even through the pd35 in the pool one night and lit up the pool for a pool party haha
Now that I’ve had 4 seizures from watching this video... I’ll think I’ll get one of these
How about this point of view maybe you have to buy what you can use in the moment there are some people that are in situations where they have to have some type of lantern her life due to Lifestyle and then they have to save up later on
you either buy something or you save for it. Thanks for watching
Hello would you consider product testing of food as part of your cooking series?
Cheers
I will not be doing any more cooking series but thanks for watching
@@recall5811 to bad .I enjoyed and learned from them. As did other's.
they don't get views or clicks and are rated the worst of my videos. so YT will not circulate them. Thanks for watching
