I often do go on concerts by myself. Honestly, most people just want to talk over the music. I want to vibe. Have only handful of friends i would go on a concert with. Those who understand what is it all about :)
Too low to find my way Too high to wonder why I've touched this place before Somewhere in another time Now I can hear the sun The clouds drifting through the blinds A half a million thoughts Are flowing through my mind A satellite recalled your voice Sent me round the world again All the night you've dreamt away Sent me round my heart again One touch upon my lips And all my thoughts are clear I feel your smoky mist Up to the stratosphere Too low to find my way Too high to wonder why I've touched this place before Somewhere in another time Now I can hear the sun The clouds drifting through the blinds A half a million thoughts Are flowing through my mind Too low to find my way Too high to wonder why I've touched this place before Somewhere in another time Now I can hear the sun The clouds drifting through the blinds A half a million thoughts Are flowing through my mind Too low to find my way Too high to wonder why I've touched this place before Somewhere in another time Now I can hear the sun
Zero 7, Tricky, uncle rabbit, the orb, Portishead... ahhh the good old days 🌌 what's on your Playlist right now other than the classics?? I always find new music being a creeper with strangers in the comments section lol
Yeah me, too. 90's aye? This is how real independent/music/artists evolve in the "absence" of corporate music marketing and distribution machine. Too bad I wasn't "cool enough" to be privy to music like this back then when it was evolving. I probably wouldn't have notice if I did. I would be too "blinded" by the machine. I'm aware of it now. Keep on.
2009, Lisbon, crossing the Tago River, on the red 25-do-Abril bridge on my way back from the beach to Lisbon city. Sun is setting down. Loud noise coming from the tires rolling over the metal pavement of the bridge and the surrounding traffic but the speaker manage to pump loud music, nevertheless. Sun is setting down and sky is flaming up. I am tired and hungry but relieved from yet another epic day at the beach, swimming in the cold, powerful Portuguese ocean. I see the city getting closer. Friends on the backseats sleeping. This was the soundtrack of one of the best moments of life. Music, this kind of music, is indeed such a powerful memory fuel. Lisboa, I love you.
Just saw them in Ybor City, FL. The crowd went nuts after the first few notes from the sitar. Their music brings together such a rich and diverse blend of people from all ages and backgrounds. Just an amazing evening. :)
This Song is My Virgin Voyage with Thievery Corporation . The Voice , Trumpets , Bongos , Banjira Sitar Guitar , The Maracas , Bass Guitar , and so many other sounds
I still will never forget this band’s set at All Good 2015. Pure chills thinking about it. Didn’t even know who the hell they were before then! Still a fan today!
Beatifull and clear colorfull music, the best band of the last years, i known about this band from an albun sent by my brother from Barcelona, today i lisening this beatifull album from more than ten years here in Peru, always in my car, the best album!!!!
Garden state bought me this. In case if anyone interested in checking other awesome songs from that movie. Here's the list. 1 - Don't panic by Coldplay 2 - caring is creepy by The shins 3 - in the waiting line by zero 7 4 - new slang by The shins 5 - i just don't think I'll ever get over you by Colin Hay 6 - Blue eyes by Cary brothers 7 - Fair by Remy zero 8 - one of these things first by Nick Drake 9 - Lebanese Blonde by Thievery corporation 10 - the only living bay in new york by Simon and Garfunkel 11 - such great heights by Iron and wine 12 - let go by frou frou 13 - winding road by Bonnie Somerville. Enjoy.
Classic and timeless =] I love that they use real instruments mixed with digital tools. Most people know this catchy tune from the movie "Garden State", but it is so uplighting that it puts you in a great mental state- great example of "acoustic alchemy". In our "Home Economics" course at Alexander Graham Middle School our professor would start each day with a classic and timeless album. I think it's a great daily ritual.
I didn't know. Just looked it up on Wiki. Been a long-time fan of TC but was not aware of Ms. Bricker's wonderful input, her voice. But she committed suicide; I'm so sad. Only 50 yrs. old. Damn that just bums me out big time.
Oh, no. I did not even know that, either. That is so sad. I was wondering why there was a different person singing in their new version of "Lebanese Blonde". Ms. Bricker had such a beautiful and ethereal voice. 💕
Damn I’m late to find out. So sad. Hope she found her peace. If you can receive what I’m transmitting, wherever you are, please know that your voice and music has soothed me when experiencing my own depression and anxiety. Your work has made a positive difference in other people’s lives. Thank you so much.
I’m dazed, thoughts hazy, but I hear this song and transcend time. And for that I’m grateful. I will return eternally to the moment I heard this for the first time and am in bliss for a miniscule moment. Thank you.
Heard this on one of the Ultra Chilled compilations and then heard it everywhere. Now you hear it in films and on TV. They are playing a pretty cool amphitheatre in St. Augustine in May 2024.
I was at a DJ party with my friend who was the DJ and the guy that organized the party requested this song and I herd it for the 1st time n I got hooked now it’s on my playlist sometimes u can find a diamond 💎 in the rough!!

Me laying in hotel room with another one night stand. I'm a tourist guide in oriental coutry and in few hours i'm traveling to big city of ancient Cairo. Room is chilled, we are young and i'm willing to smoke shisha badly. As for now my ahmar Marlboro have to do the job. As i'm closing my eyes MTV plays this song. I'm free, i'm young, i'm immortal. Again.
It took me 15 years to find this song. I was beginning to think it was just a fever dream or something.
Heard this in the Jungles of North India
Garden state OST
Or a hash dream
I know the feeling. Elated.
glad you find it! one of the best songs ever..
I saw them perform live and it was one of the best nights of my life. Music brings people together. I went alone and didn’t feel lonely one second.
That's awesome 👌
I often do go on concerts by myself. Honestly, most people just want to talk over the music. I want to vibe. Have only handful of friends i would go on a concert with. Those who understand what is it all about :)
That's beautiful.
I saw them at free concert in SF and it was the best deal I ever got on anything. They were amazing.
Same here
Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why
I've touched this place before
Somewhere in another time
Now I can hear the sun
The clouds drifting through the blinds
A half a million thoughts
Are flowing through my mind
A satellite recalled your voice
Sent me round the world again
All the night you've dreamt away
Sent me round my heart again
One touch upon my lips
And all my thoughts are clear
I feel your smoky mist
Up to the stratosphere
Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why
I've touched this place before
Somewhere in another time
Now I can hear the sun
The clouds drifting through the blinds
A half a million thoughts
Are flowing through my mind
Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why
I've touched this place before
Somewhere in another time
Now I can hear the sun
The clouds drifting through the blinds
A half a million thoughts
Are flowing through my mind
Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why
I've touched this place before
Somewhere in another time
Now I can hear the sun

I can't believe this band ever got past me in the 90's. This music is so perfect. Serene and entrancing.

And you don't know Buenos Aires, would you like to know it? Do you know Argentina? You would surely be fascinated by it...
Shared this with a kid in Baghdad at the airport. Take a moment to listen what is happening around you. You'd be surprised at what you learn.
I remember the time that i use to live in Dublin, in some cosy attic, a sunny spring day , listening this track at high volume at 5.1 surround
