Listening to this in Pakistan, 2024....Love it. Such a positive, chill vibe.
A life changing album for me.
It just takes you somewhere blissful ... i can only imagine the state they were in composing this masterpiece .....definitely in the top 10 albums
Mine too! Thanks for the music Air.
Incomparable
Same
Me to..change my taste in music ⛅☀️
One of the best chill out songs ever
if not The Best. 😊
Yeah... I like most of the songs of AIR...
Totally agreed Sunny. Listining now!
you should really hear Black Sabbath Caravan. very similar vibe
Please don't call it a song.
25 years later this is still my favorite song
_Ce Matin La_ -- also from this album -- is my favorite song of all time. It's not even music in the mundane sense. It is the singing of the angels. It is the sound gravity makes when it collapses into a black hole. It is the sound of love making love to itself. It is beauty transcending its own boundaries. It's music, but it always gets me talking grandiose bullshit about how much I like it. And btw, it was on the 'Virgin Suicides' soundtrack, but it's easy to miss. While I was sighing wistfully at Kirsten Dunst, it was playing, so I missed it several times.
Me too❤
It's pure brilliance and so tome tested.
I first heard Moon Safari back in 1998 and instantly fell in love and still jam out to it frequently to this day.
❤
This is not a song.
A genuine masterpiece
i cant explain what this song does to me. doesn’t matter where i am, it feels like it teleports me somewhere else, in a comfort zone that exists in my mind, brings a big fat smile on my face and i cant stop listening over n over
Dear Sir please stop calling it a song, There are No Lyrics.
Composition?
@@08karlos
Please don't call it a song friend it has no lyrics
It's a song.
Lyrics or not.
Stop finding offense to this. You're adding no value, and, arguably, taking value away from any piece of art when making statements like this.
Transported back to the late 60's ,early 70's ,away from the shit of today.
This was my wedding song ❤ celebrating 7 years in October!
Congratulations! Marriage is a good thing, despite what you may hear these days. (I just got married last new year's eve!) I recommend playing this for your 7-seven-year anniversary. On repeat.
ruclips.net/video/HlBMsnPi93M/видео.html&start_radio=1
Congratulations every October 👏
A song for all occasions...this was my divorce song 😊
It is not a song.
Great choice. This was the song my dad would play on the way home from a trip to the beach. Took me a long time to find it
There are some albums that come around from time to time that are instant classics. They encompass the essence of a certain time
Never gets tired of this wonderful soft music of all times
Still sounds dope after all these years.
I'm here because I stood next to a tall gentleman in the front row at a la femme show in chicago last June. He told the dude behind me that this was the best album he'd ever heard. So glad I didn't mind my own business. Thanks, tall guy where ever you are
Simply one of the best tunes ever made . Thank you Air ❤
First heard this brilliant track back in the 1990s in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Absolutely blew me away, soon as I got back to UK bought the album. Still absolutely love the album. This track in my top 30 of all time.
How high were you?
❤❤❤
I too think of Amsterdam cause it's where i lived at the time. Wonderful memories in this song and the whole album. Masterpiece ❤
It's 2023 and I'm afraid I just now heard this song while listening to Pandora - I love it!! As a former bass player, this bass tag line is so well done ...
This sounds a lot like the Beastie Boys album "The In Sound From Way Out", so if you dig this, maybe check that album out.
But it is not a song.
That bassline
This track is the closest thing to meditation for me. It brings me such an awareness of the present moment, and still makes me feel floating in the universe, travelling to the unknown, sure it will be so surprisingly good!
It wasn't until I looked at the comments on here that I thought back to when I first used to listen to this track. The year 2000, all through the 6 months I spent travelling down the Atlantic coast of Europe in my clapped-out surf wagon, board strapped to the roof, catching waves at all the iconic breaks and working in the vineyards, until finally I arrived at Peniche, Portugal in late November through December. Big waves at that time of year! But I was young and adventurous and I'm so thankful I got to do that! Great people, and great memories and this wonderful track brings it all back.
This album is imbedded into my soul
One of the greatest instrumental songs of modern times. 🙏
It's Not a song friend it has no lyrics
True, but it's awesome.@@08karlos
True, but it's awesome.@@08karlos
It has no lyrics, it is not a song.
Beautiful...this band was my childhood....Discovered them completely by accident on Kazaa eons ago!
Same here.
I’m here in Africa on my holiday and it’s teaming with heavy rain. So beautiful and comfortable with this song and me sitting outdoors with my love.
Asante Sana ❤
I would love a downpour listening to this....sounds flowing
You might have misunderstood, this safari was supposed to be on the moon, not in Africa 😉
I was young and life was good when I listened to this. Still makes me feel that way.
I wanna relive that again... but the ppl are gone and life took a different turn.. so sad.
Before the C1A turned your life into a deranged germ-war sh|tscape?
@@bobhope5114 oh man why you gotta kill the vibe like that ?
are you not still young and isn't life still good? i don't think anything has changed at all. i guess that's why you feel the same way
Know what you mean. Play this now to soothe away the anxieties induced by this very dark world we are living in now. Instant therapy.
La femme d'argent 'Silver Woman' is the epitome of chill. That bass, that synth, that atmosphere.. Pure Class! ❤AIR
Forever.. AWESOME! ❄️🎶
a woman of money, mon ami
Is that Fender Rhodes in this track?
This lights up my brain in all of the right places. Great cover art too.
Yep...perfect lobby music for a space station!! :)
That original space station comment should be pinned at the top of the comments.
Masterpiece. Classic. Fantastic. One of the best lounge anthems of all time.
That switch around 4:00 into the piano then the build up after. Still makes my hair stand on end. Just fucking genius.
Same words i used to describe to my GF few Seconds ago 😜
Yeah.. A total moon safari..
One of the best pieces ever made
I have so many memories wrapped up in this one song alone…good and bad times in the late 90s. Every time I hear it, the memories come flooding back. No better chill out music ever. It also was used in the classic ‘99 film “Go” when they smoke pot and set the Vegas hotel room on fire. Good times.
Currently out in Thailand , camping in a tent looking up at the stars and listening to this
I heard this first time when I was 5 years old in a radio it was 1996, (at least I tought the song was released 1998). Two decades later I found this song again, it gave shiver to my spine!
Two years later I met a french girl after I break up with another girlfiend (we were 3 years together). Can you believe me I just met "the girl of my dreams", I could not stop thinking about her to this day, and this song makes all sense. Some stuff you cannot explain you just feel, this song gives me deja vu for lifetime,
um what?
Sir it's Not a Song, there are No Lyrics.
I remember driving in my high school private road, searching for a parking spot, with this wonderful song.
In a school district of thousands of students, I swear every single girl stopped my car to ask me who was the artist behind this masterpiece.
And those smiles on those mornings... My then girlfriend wasn't so smiling but those moments were really everything for me.
Merci beaucoup Nicolas and Jean-Benoît!
I heard this album in high school and I would listen to it while smoking some herb. Truly magical.
Awesome!!!! This album was/is so huge 4 me.. When released I heard on Detroit college radio great late night show of WDET Liz Copeland Warner, wrote down the title and purchased.. Played the entire album one night for Rodriguez of Searching for Sugarman '99 while we traded doobies, he was floored and thanked me immensely.. I could tell it gave him energy and hope.. That year I was also artist in residence at Buffalo River national park in northern Arkansas for a month and a half.. Amazing experience in the mountains and pitch dark more stars than I had ever witnessed in my life and we have a cottage in northern Michigan wilderness.. This was beyond that!! The milkyway was dazzling and stars like at our cottage left you dizzy.. I did a lot of night driving in my Crimson Ford Probe which was in great shape.. Speeding through the night mountains, windows down blasting this album and more.. My gf's at the time we would have sex over and over to this album... so much beauty THANKS
" Played the entire album one night for Rodriguez of Searching for Sugarman '99, he was floored and thanked me immensely.. I could tell it gave him energy and hope.. " - The most underrated comment of the entire RUclips planet! Respect.
I still keep this album on rotation in my car! 💗
Don't we all
So would I if I could drive you must be one chilled out driver I will leave my address and you can take me for a spin lol xxxxx
@@JoanneBellamy-wr5oz See? This record really made me find le femme d'argent... ⚘ Hiya then! 😁
Me too 🦭🫧
I just made a cover of this song if anyone wants to check it out on my channel
The bass really tickles my brain
If this ain't a timeless classic, than I don't what is.
25 years later this cured all my worries and cleared my skin....
Absolute favorite
I first heard this on a compilation cd EQ magazine put out when it was knew. It made countless mix cds. Just now got a bunch of free dvds and popped in Season 1 of Veronica Mars just to see what that show is. Opening soundtrack of the series. Instantly took me back to yesteryear. Paused the DVD just to pull this up on RUclips. Chillin.....
Favourite song of all time. Still get goosebumps listening after 20 years
It's Not a song friend it has no lyrics
Wow, Moon Safari by Air is an absolute masterpiece! 🌙✨ This album takes me on a blissful journey through dreamy melodies and ethereal soundscapes. The combination of electronic and organic elements creates a unique sonic experience that is both soothing and uplifting. Every track is a gem, from the iconic 'La Femme d'Argent' with its mesmerizing bassline to the enchanting 'All I Need' and the infectious groove of 'Kelly Watch the Stars.' The seamless blend of atmospheric synths, haunting vocals, and intricate production makes this album a timeless classic. It's the perfect soundtrack for stargazing or getting lost in your thoughts. Moon Safari has definitely earned its place as a quintessential album in the realm of electronic music. 🚀💫
It's really quite something isn't it..
It's SUCH an enjoyable piece of music.
This track tears at my heart, as it was partners and mine regular listening on the weekends when it came out. We are not together anymore & it makes me sad remembering the ‘good times’ just hanging with her.
hang in there peter. it will get better.
Sorry to hear that lad
It’s painful, you’re so strong brother
Keep that head up and I’m proud of you
One of the best of all time albums without question!
This piece of marvelousness is beyond our dimensions, that is why it cannot be placed in any human music genre ✨✨✨✨❤.
what a bass!
An exotic masterpiece
That bass ❤
Im so happy I found this ❤
Masterpiece
I once spent half an hour in a public park loop listening to this slightly stoned on my headphones late at night staring at the moon and contemplating the void of death and for some strange reason that moment gave me a deep existential crisis
Master pieces live forever
One of my favorite albums 😍
Still one of the greatest opening tracks of all time, easily their best song
Very beautiful song 🎵 ❤ 😍
It's Not a song.
It is not a song.
One of my dreams would be to jam with Air someday, even more so to make a masterpiece like this or J'ai Dormi Sous L'eau.
Groovy Baby!!
This album instantly became my favorite of all time and it still is to this day
Coming from the future. STILL one of my favorite bands.
25th anniversary??? I gotta go lay down. Where has the time gone??
Idk I was in my youth and wish I could.have met them in person ..this song changed my life with shit I went through..
This is my most listened song for 2022 and 2021, according to youtube music statistics. Thank you for your efforts))
now I listen to albums in flac
Mon album le plus écouté de 2022 selon RUclips.
You know what's scary? The release date of this is closer to 1973 than to the present day.
That's a actually a relief to me...feels more classic
You know what's even scarier? The music of 1973 was way better than the music of the present day.
Amen!
Incredibly good. This whole album is just crazy.
One of my fav albums of ALL TIME! Every song a masterpiece. x
4:00 gives me chills everytime ❤
Me too
Brilliant
A Classic.
Vive Air.
This song is perfect!!
Air are masters of nuance.
timeless💙
Gorgeous sound.
Timeless classic!❤✌
This song reminds me of 2012 summer nights chatting with friends till the sun came out ❤️ beautiful music brought me back in time haha
Remember getting Q magazine, i think it was and at the end of each year, there would be a free cd of the best music released.
This track was on it, bought the album. Still brilliant after 26 years.
Like fine French wine, it keeps getting better year after year.
Que discazo ❤️ 🇦🇷
Simply the best chillout song ever. Time for moon safari 2 air... please
What a way to start an album. A seven minute, instrumental song, that is more than amazing. Glad I got to see them 3 times while living in Chicago. Bt far, the best shows I have ever been too, and hopefully one more time if they do another album.
This song has such a 60's ,70's vibe.❤
These and zero7 ......2 top chill out bands
Thanks for posting. I heard this band the first time at a Tower Records CD listening post. Remember those things? Who else knows music better than the store employees who work there for the love of music. You can't get that anywhere anymore. Maybe from constantly repeating Sirius Radio channels with no live DJ. Definitely, not from Soundcloud AI contaiminated with ADsense or taste manipulators. The passive majority will never know what they are missing. Nor would they know good music even if they heard it. Rock on active music listeners of all genres. Hello World. 2023.
Classic.
Great vibe.
Excellent bass line.
The best song I've ever heard!
It's Not a song.
It is not even a song.
Люблю в космические симуляторы летать под эту песню))))
я просто улетаю, когда слушаю её)
It’s 1999. I’m driving home from downtown disappointed from the club. The windows are open, it’s 2:00 AM and I am moving while the rest of the world is still.
soooo gooooood , merci AIR pour la musique les 70 's like
Lost for words since its very release.
Years later, I'm still in deep worshipping.
It was around 5:00 pm at Sauraha ,Nepal. I was sitting right beside the river watching sunset, My first mushroom experience and this song was on loop.
I love this. It opens my mind.
quand j'ai entendu la chanson à l'époque, c'était fini avec AIR. Un monde entièrement nouveau.
merci!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! et pour le bon concert à dusseldorf
One of my favorite music albums EVER. Love it!
Love the lyrics!
My favorite! 💙
Incroyable 🇫🇷
Omg - just heard the interview and the music from air on the Craig Charles BBC radio 6 show, and even though i have heard the music, i now know more about this fabulous artist. 👌 Once again thank you Craig for your best radio show.
Its that interview that brought me here!
