I discovered Gotan Project in my 50s and fell in love with neoTango. Gotan Project has been my favorite group since then.
It took years for me to be able to enjoy listening to this album again...when it came out I was in a relationship that went bad...so since this was played at the house it reminded me of all that...but now I have reclaimed this beautiful music and I LOVE listening to it again...Yay!

Ho questo Album (e anche gli altri...😉)da subito..e ancora è potente. Per me è indispensabile ascoltarlo spesso... è un dono, mi regalò un momento intenso che si rinnova ad ogni ascolto. Tutti i brani sono fantastici! E per me è impossibile non ballare..Si, amo il tango, l'elettronica, il jazz...qui c'è tanto tanto altro! Mi piacerebbe andare a un loro live... chissà. Sicuramente già vent'anni fa mi ha fatto giurare a me stessa che appena possibile mi iscrivo a "tango"...

Caught them at Stubb's amphitheater in Austin. It was a hot, hot, August summer night and they entered the stage dressed to the nines, tuxedo's that lasted nearly the entire set before taking their jackets off. Their beautiful sound consumed by the thick air visually matched their beautiful gowns and white suits through graceful movement across the stage. The stage lights probably added another 10 degrees but it did not curtail their stellar performance for a second!

First heard this album one stormy night in 02 sitting at a beach bar on a Thai Island, sheltering from a big storm drinking mango shakes and smoking a few Js. I was about to leave when this came on but I stayed right to the end. Great memories!

Carnaval de 2018. Conheci um argentino enquanto descia a Augusta, em São Paulo, e fomos conversando até chegar à Praça Roosevelt, onde ele morava. Claro que não ficamos apenas na conversa e ele acabou me convidando para subir ao seu apartamento. Lá fora, Envolvimento da MC Loma embalava a madrugada; dentro, o hermano colocou esse álbum para tocar enquanto transávamos. Lembro que gozamos ao som de El capitalismo foráneo, que continua sendo minha música favorita do álbum. Esqueci meu colar de flores em cima da mesa, por outro lado, gravei esse álbum na minha memória. Inesquecível

i just want to say gotan project you are amazing, when i was younger my mother would play this album for me when i was in her belly and she would play it through my child hood and she still does after 13 years, everytime i listen to this album it makes me happy and sometimes run and hug my mom because im glad she introduced me to such amazing music, it brings so much nostalgia and Queremos paz is the most nostalgic one for me lol, anyways i just want to say thank you for making my childhood and how a amazing job you did on this album !!!

The entire album played non stop for about 3 months in a tiny apartment in Dallas, Texas in 2004. It really made everyday life have a center - the tiny apartment and the sound. Never ending. Never beginning. Always on.

@@cynthiajohnson5375 I just looked it up and it seems like you should be able to buy it on amazon.com (and amazon.uk also but of course probably not interesting because it is not in dollars) as well as gotanproject.com in euros though and discogs.com and ebay.ca or ebay.com and xlrecordings.com etc. Hope at least one of these works out for you.

This is an epic album, let's be real. To me it meant the awareness of Tango music, together with the notion of a remix that was tasteful in all its dimensions. The notion that throughout the centuries GREAT music has been written but also that with a few tasteful tweaks here and there you can modernize it all for the "younger" audience. This in fact captivated me and lead me to investigate a bit about Gotan Project and also the origins of Tango music in general.
The first time I heard this, I could not believe violins could sound like this. Years later, they have influenced my playing, and I still love them!
I was lucky enough to listen to this album when it first came out. I had this on the cd player for the entire year! Still come back to it all the time.
Today I was asked by a friend for a tune that reminded me of summer, and this album popped to mind and especially the track "Vuelvo al sur".
They loved it, and so I sent them the link here to listen to the whole album. I think you may have found a new fan as well as still pleasing an old one.

I cannot describe how happy I am that you guys actually upload your albums for free. I heard Queremos Paz a long time ago, actually a girl caught me with that track :D, and instantly I felt how timeless and beautifully mixed this track is... When you like electronic music in direction of Downtempo, then this album is one of the three ones that you propose to a friend, or maybe even your partner in spe.

I love this band and the album since came out in 2001. Back in the late 90's I was starting to get deep into Trip Hop, House, Techno, Industrial, etc, and all of a sudden I found this album on a record store, the seller told me "you would love this man!" (Esto te va a encantar amigo!). He was right, that was before RUclips or Spotify ... you have to buy the CD to unveil what's inside.
La primera vez que fui a BsAs me meti a una tienda de discos y pedi algo contemporanea pero representativo de Argentina y su musica y me dieron esto. Regrese a Mexico feliz y este album me recuerda mucho de ese viaje que hice en 2006
Muy buen criterio el del vendedor. Te recomiendo del mismo género Bajofondo Tango Club (los primeros dos discos) y Otros Aires. Saludos!

I had the opportunity to see Gotan Project live in Brasília, Brazil, back in 2007. It was exactly this album! One of a kind experience. After so many years, hearing this again brings back wonderful memories and sensations! I remember i was so mesmerized by their "Una música brutal" performance! "Vuevo al sur! was equally good! Thank you so much!
