After an exploration into bossa nova on the 2014 “Saudade” release, Thievery Corporation returns to the music of Jamaica for it’s 2017 album, The Temple of I & I. The band’s 10th studio album release was recorded at GeeJam Studios in Port Antonio, Jamaica and was released on February 10, 2017 through the band's ESL Music imprint.

I introduced my 18 year old, very talented (he's had his own band since he was 15!), musician nephew to this album this evening. The reaction was joyful - for both of us. I got to show a youngster I love an respect and who knows more about every kind of music that's ever existed than I ever could (he's about to start his degree in music) - but who gravitates towards hard metal in all its forms for some reason - an album that I love so much because of its perfect - authentic, beautiful - balance of reggae, rap, poetry, and conscience. It's very special.
I was blessed by the genuine joy he felt and expressed in his reaction to the tracks he heard after dinner. And that's my joy right there.
Beautiful to hear, we do plant a seed after all x

Have loved Thiervery Corp since the early days (90s) in DC at Eighteenth Street Lounge. Appreciate them keeping the vibe going on and on.

Letter to the editor is one bad ass track. She flows well with the beat. And her voice in the chorus gets me every time. Not to mention to dopness of those beats and bassline
