Notice nobody has commented lately. So I have an update. I spent 10 days in the UP Michigan this spring and it rained 8 out of 10 days. Used this tent and it DID NOT LEAK.
Just used my 2.0 version and an unexpected thunderstorm with very high winds poured rain on the tent for 2 hours . Not a drop water was inside the tent afterwards. Very happy with the performance of this tent. I didn’t close the bottom air vent either
Dude - I’m with you. No way would I buy from a company like this, regardless of how good their revised product is. Too many other good tents out there. Gotta love the free market system.
I agree. I got one of their stoves before the whole Stovehut debacle and it has made me hold off buying anything else from them just because of the way they handled the situation.
I think it’s awesome that they fixed the tent finally. Harassing and calling reviewers liers was not good PR for them. I am not what I would use this tent for but am interested. Good job Luke hope all is well
You were more than generous to give this company yet another chance, especially after the way they treated you and their dishonesty. I am not inclined to purchase anything from them because I value honesty above all else. It seems though they have finally fixed this problem. We shall see. Thank for all you reviews. You are a man to be trusted. Love to Susie.
You always tell the truth, one thing i like about you,,,,,,, I think your assessment of the leaking one has saved many headakes for campers in the future, I am glad the company solved the problem...
Hi Luke, I once bought a Browning Gortex-Thinsulate outfit touted for its warmth and it being waterproof when hunting during the winter months. I brought the over $500 outfit home, put it on and was standing in the cold shower. After 10 minutes my wife came into the bathroom and asked me what I was doing and if I was crazy. I explained to her that it was better to test the outfit now instead of waiting until I was halfway up a mountain in the woods to find out it wasn't warm or wasn't waterproof. It passed all of my expectations and I wore it hunting for two decades with no troubles. Nobody wants to find out the hard way that a product is faulty. You do an excellent job keeping us from finding out things the hard way. Keep up the good works!!!!!
@@RS-xq6je Hi Partner, I used to wear a Woolrich hunting outfit that kept me warm even in the rain but by the end of the day the Woolrich would weigh seemingly 100 pounds heavier, so I'd wear a poncho to keep the rain from soaking in or turn the poncho into a makeshift tarp to sit under when it snowed or rained. When your outside from before sunup till dark deer hunting, comfort is the name of the game for sitting still when ambush hunting.
I bought this model. Was slightly Discoloured. They sent me a whole New tent free of charge. Great customer experience!! So now I Have 2 of them. My girlfriend and I love this tent regardless of reviews. And we’ve used it on about 12 overnighters no complaints here. I love sleeping with the big awning open and having the bug netting closed.
I just bought my first Lifefighter 1 person tent Yesterday (used, but only once). I'm going to aim for October to start camping again. I haven't camped in a long time, but after I nearly died last year, I felt it was time to get outdoors again.
You seem to be a man of high integrity and are able to give only a truthful and unbiased opinion or test of outdoor equipment. I have watched now many of your episodes concerning either travel or the equipment reviews. I believe what you say is accurate to the best of your ability to determine the facts. Thank you for all you do! Glad this model of the tent is fixed and does not leak!
Yay I was right. So glad it worked out. I know that even if a company acts like that one time about their product defending their products and then goes back to the drawing board and fixes the issue that is found to be substantial then I would still call that company in honorable company and would purchase from them
I love that your channel gives the necessary education needed when buying outdoor gear. I used to camp often as a child and teen. Now as an adult there were many things I didnt take into acc as my dad was always the one who purchased our gear. Im glad I can look on this page and learn a thing or two. Thank you for your channel.
Thank you for this review. I find this tent’s design very interesting and would consider buying one, but the leakage problem prevented me from doing so. I can’t wait for your final evaluation. Keep on with the good work.
Love the honesty, but not so much when companies don’t take criticism about their quality to improve the product! That’s why I watch your reviews and see how those companies handle quality control and customer service.
I can’t explain or express the thanks I have towards your channel you have not only saved me a ton of money but also help keep me safe in the back country an the products you do reviews on I’ve had gear fail on me in the woods an it’s not only dangerous but a kick in the butt when you have to head in because of faulty equipment.so thank you for the hard work honesty and dedication to your work
The #1 requirement I have for a tent is that it will be waterproof in the worst of conditions. I've been in leaking tents before, and it's pure misery. I want my tent to be able to handle rain that is being blown in horizontally, cause I have experienced that while camping.
I have the Black version of the Stove Hut 70 and i got Snow seal at Walmart 2 cans were 14 dollars and i covered my entire tent i had it out in a Thunderstorm and it remained bone dry. Im a Happy Camper.
Your reviews are always honest (brutally so in some cases 😌) and unbiased. I trust your reviews and enjoy your video content. I love your logo on your gear and as soon as you get zip-up hoodies I will definitely purchase.
Nice honest review as always. Companies need to remember that they are working for the consumer. Though it sounds like the company blew it in regards to their response, they obviously listened and made corrections which is what honest reviews is supposed to do. Awesome that they made the improvements. Now they need to pull up their big boy pants and not react negatively when honest issues are addressed.
I did stick it out with my preorder, and got this version. I only had one chance to test it in the rain, and it held up, but it was also a light rain. I haven't had the chance to ride out a heavy rain with it yet. I'm glad to see it held up.
Good to see them fix it .and hopefully they grow and learn to react in a better manner to any future complaints or criticism. I was interested in this tent when I first emailed you about it and I still am . I like the design. Much better now that it doesn't leak
Think I’d like to see a long term review before I get anything from them. It’s great they were able to pass this test but a few more rains and good winds stretching it out will sell me on it. Love the design of it. Love your reviews on everything.
We all come here for the exact same thing, an honest review. It's not about hurting feelings, but it is about keeping people safe from poor products. Thank you, Luke!
I do like the concept of that tent. It was just over my price point for a one person tent that I'd rarely use. Most of my camping with my wife. Thank you.
Finally, looks like they got it right. I see they still redesigned the vent, having that inner zip flap is a good idea, no more need to go outside to seal off the vent
out of all the hot tents this one has been in my view for a long long while, I have the one tigress bungalow thing and having a hot tent in the same style fits my camping style.
glade to see that they seem to have fix issue i wait for your update down the road to see your what you say, that being said i hope it does well. this tent i do really like that idea behind it and think it make a great tent little tent
This design improvement cured 'splashback' with the extended eaves. I do not know what they did to improve the seam sealing but the results speak for themselves.
Considering buying this tent - am a bit skeptical that the leakage is truly addressed; HOWEVER, having dealt with leakage many times in high end tents - will likely use some SEAMGRIP on the areas in question during preparations prior to use and putting my comfort and safety at risk. Thanks for the unbiased reviews - really enjoy your content for it's candor. BZ
I honestly respect your reviews, it has saved me a lot of money from purchasing gear that I would have to replace very quickly. I get it once, do regular maintenance, and everything has worked extremely well. Thanks again for your honest reviews.
I really appreciate your video on this Tent as I really want to buy one. I had also heard about the leakages so thats what stopped me being honest. Now however I would without doubt buy one of these tents. Only due to seeing your review Btw👍🏼 It does "seem" like Pomoly listened, thats got to be a plus❗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really loved the design of this tent but was hesitant to buy the first version when i heard about the leaking issue. I did buy the second version when they said the fixed the problem. When i ordered i passed on the poles. I then ordered something else from Pomoly and forgot I had the tent with the poles in my basket so now I have 2 tents and tested neither of them. Glad you tested out the tent and now I see the leak was in fact fixed. Great video as usual Lke.
Love your straight shooter honesty. Can’t believe the company handled it like they did. Chance you can review the Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 3. I’d love to know what you would recommend for a 3 person tent that I can hike with solo, but also have my wife & little daughter join along in the coming years. I like the idea of tents with a large vestibule for added storage. I really need something that is going to be bullet proof in the rain. Last thing I want to deal with is a wet shelter with my family. Let me know sir! Be well! Stay dry!
Hey Luke, great content as always. As for me personally I will not be giving them any of my business and I will share this so the word gets out. There are too many companies out there that work hard for a good customer experience and solid products.
I had my eye on this tent before but the reviews changed my mind. After seeing this 2.0 version and review, I would definitely reconsider. Regardless, if I was to purchase this tent, I would definitely do my own seam sealing and waterproofing just as an added measure. I love the design of this tent. I may be looking more into it in the near future.
@@msm7927 yes, I have. But, by the time you buy the tent and the nest you are in it for $500. It's designed similar to the zpacks duplex but more closely to the lanshan 2. I could add a stove jack and stove in one vestibule of my lanshan 2 pro for less than the guardian and have pretty much the same tent. I'm not knocking the guardian. It's a great tent. A neighbor of mine has one. I just don't like the price compared to the tent in this video. And, I like this design better for a hot tent. Just personal preference.
Despite that dispute you had, I purchased this tent based on your provided information. I really like this idea of tent, it appears large enough for my backpack cot, I already have a hot tent outfit so have a stove already. This rain review, I can't thank you enough for making this video test of the tent in a rather heavy rain storm. It rains a lot where I live and camp often, I've been eyeing this tent for a while for backpacking into deeper back country. The part I'm not thrilled about is having to provide my own poles, but I seen tent has ridgeline capabilities. Ide like to know if the tent is effective with using a tent stove. My other tent is a cheap Ozark trail teepee tent, which I had bought for a camping trip where it didn't rain much, but having to move to a rain forest, I tried this tent, it does great in heavy rain, I installed a stove jack, I have no complaints about the walmart cheap 7 person teepee tent. Glamping for one it's big like a yurt. I have a hammock tent, a mosquito net all enclosed and a rain fly, which is nice for warmer nights. Yet I want a good small hot tent , I don't like having a fire in a smaller tent and don't particularly like those pomoly teepee hot tent with no floor, so this tent appears a very innovative design.
so much rain... im from central europe and we recieved maybe 1/10 of a inch of rain in last two weeks here where my house is... even today there was rain here and there even very heavy stuff but everything disperse before it reach a small valley where i live
Thank you for doing this test. This was what Ive been waiting for this before I purchased it from them. Others have said it was fixed. You sir have confirmed it for me. Thank you once again. And for going to bat for us the consumer. I have no doubt you and a handfull of others had a lot to do with this correction.
Luke, I love your honesty and straightforwardness...No BS, all truth...Btw, have you ever done a test on Alaskan Tent & Tarp Arctic Oven Tent?? I have the Pipeline Model...
You do a great job at bringing honest reviews, sad that there's others who are just in it for the money and not the product. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see more overnighters.
Thank you! I love this tent setup and really wanted it but saw your review. I waited to but hoping that they would fix the problems and take your input. They did and now I’m waiting for my stovehut 2.0 and my T-Brick titanium wood stove to go with it!! I am so excited!!
It appears they may have had QC issues and that is a very scary for the person that gets that shelter that may have slipped out of the factory to the consumer. Thank You for all you do.
Hi Luke! Tent looks good! See what happens when you do it right Polmoly! I would now consider this tent! I love where the vent is! The last vestige of fools is imtidation!
Hey Luke, I've been trusting your judgement on many, many products over the years. That beeing said, Why does it look like there's a small puddle on the floor? timestamp 6:56
I would be interested in buying this 2.0 version tent looking to more reviews thanks for helping me to reignite my interest in camping. You guys are the best!
Luke, is there a design feature that clearly denotes the V2 from the V1? I ask because although I would never accuse a company of shady behaviour, I can just see a slew of positive reviews of the V2 tent might lead to increased demand and the temptation to offload old V1 tents as V2 in order to get rid of them.
Good Evening Luke. I have not been able to find a follow up video on the Pomoly Stovehut 70 2.0. Just wondering if there is such a video or not? Anyways thanks for your honest reviews and strength and honor brother.
For a company to have to swallow their pride and fix the issue is a plus. Now they have a better product and they have learned from it. I believe I will pick one up…….. I wonder how it performs when its snowing? LOL
Excellent news. I bought one of the original ones as I loved the baker design but still being able to use as a hot tent. I've not dared to use mine in the rain yet but I've been waiting for your review of the new "2.0" version. I may look to try and seam seal my original and buy a new 2.0 version. Looking forward to the future video on this topic. Keep up the great content.
Thank you Luke. I like the tent but wasn't sure if it would leak. I am glad it was dry. North Carolina rains are no joke (and I coast camp in Washington State Olympic national park in rain forests... Nothing compares to north Carolina rain!) So I completely trust your review on tent leaking! I am looking forward to more reviews, especially with a stove and snow. How would it handle snow loading for winter? I like the a frame style and the stealth color and size. I would consider purchasing the tent knowing that they seem to have fixed the problem.
Would love to see you do a review on slumberjacks 4person slumber shack, it's not a hiking tent more of a overlanding tent and it would work great with your pickup
good review, I've just ordered 1 this morning. i ordered it as i wanted a hot tent and they are hard to get in the UK, as soon as it arrives ill Fabseal it
After first batch of rain, when he checked inside and said there is no leakage, on 5:00 right behind his back there is a wall that is fully covered in water. 😂
I have quite a few of their products . And I am satisfied by design and quality . However , they went to market with this tent when it was substandard, so minus to Pomoly . I still look at their tents.
Would be interesting to see if the company will respond to this video confirming that their product now seem to live up to expectations. If the company comments on this video I'd love to hear about it considering what they responded previously. Keep up the good work, Luke!
My hope is that POMOLY has learned a valuable lesson, in the future maybe not be so shady and instead just be honest and face facts then fix them. People like people who are honest and humble.
I need to contact the upstairs weather office in the sky…so Tucson,Arizona will have a 2024 monsoon season this year…😂! Since you seem to have their ear with your leak tests😊! Have a great day!
I like the design of this one, and have held off buying one until the problems were fixed. It's good to see I can look at getting one finally. It's a really nice hot tent design, it would have been a shame if they couldn't get it to work eventually. Looking forward to a review.
Luke thanks for your hard work on your reviews of products. Next sagging fabrics, lines and all that sort of things is why in tension lines ya have adjustments right? Next Pomoly, I wonder if that company recalled the first version? I dislike leaky or leaking tents! For car camping I've been using a Colman six person instance up tent. Never leaked and been in some very sincere winds and rains! I'm currently looking for a new back packing tent. Looking forward to your full review of this tent. You have saved me money on some tents I was thinking about buying! Will always check your channel first. Recently I bought a stove from Walmart. At the time it was only 12.97 and I took a chance. It's an Ozark trail propane/butane camp stove. Would like to mail it to you so you could do a review. Think price went up but everything is these days lol. Wishing you and your family the very best!
Hello everyone, on the first sight a really nice tent, but, did i see right? Only on one side of the tent roofs a point for staking out the tent for more room?..
Luke, Many of your viewers camp at campgrounds for days or even a week at a time. Im wondering if you could do a rain test for 3-5 days? Your rain tests are great but would love to see an extended test for the times people get stuck for a few days at a time. Thanks
Great stuff, Luke! I too found the design intriguing and would love to see it tested with a working stove. Not so shot with the name-calling, though. If they treat you that way how are they going to treat me? Looking forward to the next test.

I have the Pipeline Model...
keep on evaluating. i like the rain skirt!
I recommend buying a CoCoRaHS rain gauge to use in these reviews so we can get an accurate measure of the rainfall.
One of the best channels on RUclips.
It's always good to see a company react and fix issues. Sometimes companies switch manufacturers mid product cycle and quality control suffers.
At the end of the road....honesty is the best policy.
I bought two tents and a wood stove from Pomoly in Japan. High quality.
I love watching the adventures but these videos are also golden. Pure unadulterated honest opinion. That’s priceless. 👍
Hey Luke, I've been trusting your judgement on many, many products over the years. That beeing said, Why does it look like there's a small puddle on the floor? timestamp 6:56
For a hot tent availability and a pup style that is the bomb tent with updated fabrics. I do like it.. thanks for the review thanks for the 🎗️ review.
From what I can tell, the rounded zipper vent is unique to the 2.0. All the others had some form of rectangular vent.
Glad to see they did something about it. Hopefully the better in the future?
good review, I've just ordered 1 this morning. i ordered it as i wanted a hot tent and they are hard to get in the UK, as soon as it arrives ill Fabseal it
Dude I've been looking hard for a good winter hot tent and you saved me.
thanks for the view but if you stop it at 6:59 - 7:00 it looked like it leaked look like water .
Yes , I thought I was seeing things that does look like a puddle .
Thanks Luke I wanted this tent but did not buy based on your first review..I will wait until your done before I buy thank you for what you do...
Thanks For This Part of The Review , I Been Looking For A Hot Tent For Awhile.
After first batch of rain, when he checked inside and said there is no leakage, on 5:00 right behind his back there is a wall that is fully covered in water. 😂
Thank you for your honesty, it is a change from what we are getting in these times. It also is a impetus to companies to improve. Good job.
Thank you, Luke.
KUDOS to Luke AND the people at Pomoly…
Sweet, I really like this tent. Glad to see it held up so well. Thnx for the video! 👍
My hope is that POMOLY has learned a valuable lesson, in the future maybe not be so shady and instead just be honest and face facts then fix them. People like people who are honest and humble.
I cant wait for the review. the tent looks really interesting and great value.
Thank you for sharing this product information Luke. We appreciate your knowledgeable feedback on it all.
Thanks for giving this another shot. You truly are a class act.
I need to contact the upstairs weather office in the sky…so Tucson,Arizona will have a 2024 monsoon season this year…😂! Since you seem to have their ear with your leak tests😊!
Have a great day!
Nothing like HONESTLY SPEAKING .
Awesome review I actually bought this version can’t wait to try it out.
I like the design of this one, and have held off buying one until the problems were fixed. It's good to see I can look at getting one finally. It's a really nice hot tent design, it would have been a shame if they couldn't get it to work eventually. Looking forward to a review.
I'm glad they got it to stay dry
Luke,
Many of your viewers camp at campgrounds for days or even a week at a time.
