2x 30 cameras. This video was shot on two days in Paris In March 2012 with 17.000 fans and they had 30 cameras to film it. So all together the cutter had to handle 60 cameras in total. It took the producer Jonas Åkerlund quite a while to bring this masterpiece together and broadcast this epic video
Too bad he came up with some silly ideas, like these lightnings or speciall effects in other videos. The number of cuts is really irritating - "Du Hast" is still acceptable, but some other videos are so insanely intensively cut that it is hard to watch them.
@@nobodynemoq he cut this perfectly. The stage show is all the band. If he is editing a live show from 2 shows, 30 cameras, he can only give us what the band gives him.
@@incitingariot9925I disagree, the editing pretty mich ruined the great footage. Just because you have 30 cameras doesn't mean you have to use them all at all times. I am a music video editor myself, and I have to hold back on cutting too fast sometimes when there are too many good shots I don't want to lose, but if you cram them all in, none of them can breath. I like fast paced action and Metal videos, but some of those Songs from the Paris concert are nauseating and frustrating to watch even for me.
I am German, so please excuse my english. When you hear this song as a German you hear "You, you hate, you hate me" all the time. Suddenly you understand he means "you have asked me" and then it gets wild. The direction and the meaning change totally. One of the best German Lyrics I have ever heard! Even after 30 years.
My German was lost when the teacher started explaining how German language has male and female wording, her example was a door and doorway. A title similar to the male and female in French. Odd we don't have the terminology in English. I am curious, did Rammstein take their name from Ramstein air base in southern Germany. American air base although most NATO forces used it when deployed to Germany. A home from home for we Scottish soldiers, all the mountains and forests
It's known as "paraprosdokian", a technique where the meaning of a phrase suddenly changes when new words are added. Rammstein using homonyms (two words that sound the same aloud) in order to set it up is an extra layer of genius. The wordplay in Rammstein is often so intricate and brilliant.
I’m a German teacher - so, your translator was correct. Du hast - you have, Du hasst - you hate. Keep in mind that songs are meant to be heard, not read, so a listener could interpret the lyrics as “You hate me” or “You have me.” The written title is, of course, “you have”, but the brilliance of the song is the dual meanings. I actually use Rammstein a lot in my German classes because, believe it or not, their lyrics are fairly simple and repetitive. I use this one each year when I first teach the conjugation of the verb for “to have” (haben). “Ich will” is another one you should watch. All the pyrotechnics (including the lightening on the keyboard) are live and not done in post, so if you ever have the chance to see them live, GO! Their produced official videos for these songs are also great. Rammstein always has a deeper meaning and a lot to say.
This show was recorded with about 70 cameras. The xXx-Song (Vin Diesel) was "Feuer Frei", not this one. I think this one was used in a David Lynch movie. The lightning and of course the slow motion shots are post production. The fire is live. The rocket launcher stunt is visible for the audience even though it is not exactly what it looks like. Rammstein's first album came out 1995. The line-up has never changed. The song "Du hast" is from their second album "Sehnsucht" (1997). The first three words are "Du hast mich" (you have me) which at that moment doesn't make any sense in German. But it sounds (intentionally) the same as "Du hasst mich" (you hate me). Later in the song, the first three words are extended to a full sentence: "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt." (You asked me and I did not answer.) And then, to show what he was asked, the chorus is a wedding vow: "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage?" (Do you want to be faithful to her for all days until death do us part?) This is answered first by a kind of female voice "Ja" (yes) and afterwards by Till's harsh voice "Nein!" (No!). These - plus a slightly obscene word play on the wedding vow, that I will not explain here - are the whole lyrics (repeated a few times). In the making of for this song they said that it's about their connection in the band.

I saw them in concert in Tampa, Florida. Best freaking show ever! I was 68 yrs old retired elementary school teacher then. I am now 75 yrs old and love this band. Always loved industrial, grunge, 80s rock, alternative music. It's great to take in a classical orchestra concert. Diversity.

A little info about their stage, which they are using right now on their tour around the world. In addition to explosives, meter-high flames and a dazzling light show, the band also brings one of the world's biggest stages. It measures 61 meters in width, 30 meters in depth and 37 meters in height. It also weighs 1350 tonnes. Approximately 200 trucks ensure that the equipment is delivered.
I loved this reaction!!!! Please do more Rammstein with joe e! Their pyro is out of control and the shows are great. Their videos are good too. Live they are totally electric. Seen em a few times and its always a riot you need 3 days to recover from

Rammstein is THE BEST live performers ever! Saw them live 4 times and believe me their shows are amazingly crazy ❤🤘 and every next show is more creative and 🔥 you feel it everywhere! 😂 Also the best crowd ever! As a woman that's the safest environment I've ever been (and i saw a lot of different groups and singers live) ❤🔥 💥💥💥🤟🤟🤟🤟
I love this dude !!! He is a professionel an he make the best reaction from this performance. I like to see more reaction videos from Rammstein with him !!!
Rammstein is around since 1994. I just have been to two of the concerts of their current stadium tour - they perform currently in Munich where they fill the Olympic Stadium four times in a row. 60k people in the crowd each gig. Great reactions!
I'm 66. I've known this band since my teen son played them in mid late 90's. Funny enough a fellow nurse was just saying how he drove cross the country and Rammstein was his tunes of choice on the road🤗
Same for me but I heard them from my then teenage son in 2004 when he was 13/14 and I loved them! He is still a huge fan, and the only tattoo that he has is their logo on his right upper arm. He was also lucky enough to meet Til in Melbourne Australia a few years back and had his pic taken with him. I’ve just turned 63, and still freaking love them!!
Oh Joee, welcome to Rammstein!! 😁 - thanks BP for sharing this with Joee, you guys are awesome! Can’t wait to see what’s next - much love and have a great day.
Another great thing to think about, I saw them live. I was on the floor right in front of the band, but I was probably 20 or 30 yards away from the stage. No video can really do that Pyro work justice! Being that far away and feeling that heat blast across your face is just unbelievable! And then realizing that the band is standing right in front of those fire balls!
@@HasPotatoAim Hi, my son was there on 7th with his gf. They hadn`t floor tickets either, but they were early enough to place themself right behind the fire zone. When he came back home, his entire face was red, eye brows still on place, though lol. Until now, I don`t know if it was the fire or just from staying 8hrs in total in the sun at Olympiastadion.
If you're gonna get to Deutschland you should definitely bring Sparks for it. Rammstein's official videos are literally best HBO shows quality and an absolute treat for anyone even remotely interested in any form of filmmaking. Edit: Not a very big fan of Rammstein myself but I can freely admit that when it comes to live shows, scene presence and music videos they blow 99% of music industry out of the water.
Also....totally understand you not being exposed before...im a 40 ye old white girl that was alwasy a metal goth punk chick. I only discovered the finer points of hip hop and rap a few years ago. I totally respect it now and look forward to new drops from my faves. Crazy how we grew up and were so insulated culturally with music and pop culture references
The best way to experience Rammstein is to go to one of their concerts, especially when they started doing stadiums (earlier there were mostly arenas). Next month I will be at my 3rd one Rammstein concert in total .. when you are close to the stage you can FEEL the flames!
Absolutely bring Joe back, he is great and totally excited to see these - he will be blown away by any of the Rammstein live videos (Ich Tu Der Weh, Rammlied, Feuer Frei, Benzene, Meine Teil, etc) would be great, but given his background, he will fall out of his chair when he sees the absolutely top shelf movie quality video productions such as Deutschland, Zeit, Keine Lust, Sonne, and their pinnacle Adieu.
I love you sharing this with your friends haha The reactions everytime Til shoots the fireworks out into the crowd is so hilarious. Definitely show him Engel.
I saw them last year here in the UK and can confirm, you can really feel that heat when those flames erupt! 'Sonne' is probably the best song for feeling the heat when you're quite near the front, lol
It doesn't matter how you describe a Rammstein concert, you really have to experience one to appreciate it. Most awesome concert ever. And yes it's fucking hot wherever you are in the stadium!!!!!
Note: In XXX it is "Feuer Frei" which is the command to open fire. The song "Du Hast" is used to wake up Method Man? in the movie How High. By the way, they sometimes use the fire shooting face masks from XXX live as well. And there is a doble meening in the vows as well. "Willst du bis der Tod euch scheide" means "Do you want until death separates us". But once they sing "Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide" which translates to "Do you want until the death of the puXXy" ;-) And check out Electroc Callboy - Tekkno Train! (Fuckboy, Pump It, I got the moves, ...) they are all insanely amusing but really well done songs and videos!
For your videographer friend, the official videos might be much more interesting. i´d go for 'Zeit', 'Mein Herz brennt' (the official music video before the piano version), 'Angst', 'Dicke Titten', 'Ich will' (you might get familiar with the Gladbeck hostage crisis before that one), 'Sonne'... The latest videos have CC with allow RUclips auto-translate. BTW: I will see them on saturday in Munich 🤘
Please, please bring him back for more! I loved his enthusiasm. As well as Engel, I'd also put him in front of Ich Will and Rammlied but I'd really love to see you watch Mein Herz Brent (both piano and video version) as well as Adieu and my personal Rammstein favourite Zeit. Just as an aside - I've heard the lightning effects are not put in post prod. The reason Flake is on a treadmill is to power the Tesla coils which produce the effect
Don't forget they are in Paris getting that many French people to sing in German This band is epic along with countless other people around the world learning German even if only a couple words
After over 20 years they have a massive fanbase all around the world with very much germans and countries east of germany up to russia. This was a small gig, now their concerts begin with about 35k to 50k locations, but the most are about 70k to80k, sometimes up to 130k visitors. Translating these lrics is damn hard, even in german it is hard to catch what they want us to tell because most of their lyrics are in a very poetic way. It is like reading old books from the 18th century.
Bring Joee back! My first time at your channel. I'm a big fan of music reactions/reviews. This is one of the BEST VIDEOS I have seen of this type. Joee's videographer take on things elevated the format for me. 🤘🤘 SUBSCRIBED

Rammstein is considered New German Hardness (NGH aka Neue Deutsche Härte) a subgenre of rock music from Austria and Germany started in the early 90s. Their newest album is called Zeit and came out in 2022.
Till Lindemann (Frontman) is a licensed pyrotechnician, the man of many talents, he was a swimmer before entering music world and was a part of Olympic team before his back problem came out.
Bring him back & both watch the more recent live version of Rammstein, 2022 World Tour!! He has a "backpack" that shoots flames! Or a more recent live version of Mein Teil!
Rammstein began in 1995. They use a 7-camera set-up on their live performances. 4 robotic and 3 handheld. Feuer Frei is the opening song in Original XXX movie. All of the stage EFX (lightening bolts, etc.) are live. I’ve been to their live show. What you see on the screen is the same as what the audience sees.
Their new stage is absolutely insane, they take 7 747’s to travel and have to get permits for their towers since they exceed a certain height. The show guarantee for their shows is “No pyro,no show”.
Without any doubt: Bring him back! The enthusiasm is on point! Though if I don't remember wrong Du Hast were not in xXx.. it was in Lost Highway. However they do have Feuer Frei in xXx and they are also in a cameo in the movie while playing in a scene. Not sure to say it because then you might go back and find it in the movie... but Engel is in Mortal Kombat Annihilation.. :P
"He's still on the treadmill though!" I giggle to myself when I think that he's going to turn around to play the keyboard behind him at some stage and walk backwards on the treadmill.🤣🤣🤣
Hello, I have been a Rammstein fan since 2010 and would consider myself an expert. Hopefully this comment will explain some things for you. Firstly, I can assure you that all the fire is 100% real. I've been in the Feuer-zone(front row) 5 times. Unfortunately lightning is not yet a part of their shows. Over the past year I have been following the band around their European tour. This music video for Paris most likely used shots from multiple shows as they usually play in big cities multiple times. The band was formed in the early 1990s and because the band was formed in East Germany their music is inspired by their experiences under the Communist Regime. In 1994 the band won a music festival competition which won them the production of their first album. One of my favourite performances of theirs is of the song 'Mein Teil' which translates to My Part and is about the cannibalism case of Armin Meiwes. When it comes to lyrics I typically find Genius to be a good source for accurate translations. Recently there have been accusations against the lead singer. I don't want to go too far into it but the band has stated that the accusers have their story and the band has theirs. I really hope this cleared up anything that y'all were confused about. Also feel free to ask me any questions, I'd be more than happy to help. Thanks!
I just saw them live for the first time yesterday here in Munich with 70.000 other people. Ohhh boy am I hyped. What an experience! But you want to know the best thing? I will go to their show tomorrow again :D
Moin from Germany 😊 Saw them in Denmark on 3 of june...was my 3rth time...still feel the heat in my face🔥🔥🔥 Btw guys ☝️"Feuer frei" was in Triple xxx 😉
Can you please react to some of their new stadium tours. The scene is absolutely insane and the pyro is even more insane, even though it seems impossible. Love your content :)
Great reaction! And your guest was right, lightning was a post-production effect. Everything else was real ♥ And yes, bring him back. And do together "Adieu"! It is a must-see, their latest music video! You both will love it 😎 Have a nice weekend! 😊
@@Hun73rdk Yes, but these coils can create just small discharges up to few centimeters. You can see on some older Rammstein shows, that all you get from these coils is a buzzing glow aound them. To get so huge lightnings, tesla coil would have to be few meters high and wide, and Flake would just get fried if he was hit by the lightning (unless he had a specially designed, grounded full body armor. And besides that, although this effect is done nicely, you can see it is a postproduction when the camera focuses on Flake's hands
Greatness. You need to see Deutschland, their latest I believe was, Angst. And it is insane!! But they have many more videos that are just outstanding. Love seeing the first time reaction to these guys. Another Germain metal band to check out is Oomph. There video, "Sex" is, um... yeah it's definitely interesting. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
The Lightning Fingers are added in Post Production for the Official Live Video, everything else is real and seen by the audience. If they could figure out a safe way that looked as good that could reproduce that for real they definitely would do it.
This song is also in the movie How High. It is the song played by dude to wake up his boy, along with some blunt smoke to his face 🤣 RUclips "How High Du Hast" tons of people clipped it haha
You take reaction videos to another level. I wonder if you would like to hear a different side of these guys? If so, check out the ballads "Ohne Dich" (make sure to watch the video), "Mother" (live in Paris, a Frankenstein humanoid' curse/prayer to the mother he never had - highly emotional) and "Mein Herz brennt" (piano version, the official video! A gloomy sandman who lives on the nightly tears of sleeping children, which makes his heart burn), "Zeit" (best lyrics ever about time and death - graphic content). Bonus track: the Cover version of "Seemann" by Apocalyptica ft. Nina Hagen - the music Video is Amazing, way better than the original. Bonus Track 2: Listen Till RAP on "Mathematik" it's so good but maybe too controversial for a reaction video.
Du - you
Du hast / hasst - you have / you hate
Du hast / hasst mich - you have / hate me
Du hast mich gefragt / you asked me

Apart from "have" and "hate" being homophones in German, there’s also grammar to take into account.
In German, you don’t have the strict subject-verb-object word order. So it’s a bit like Schrödinger‘s sentence, it lives in a super-position where two meanings exist at the same time. Only as the sentence grows longer does it eventually collapse into one specific meaning.
Let me try to explain: In German, the word order is different. Instead saying “you have asked me”, one would say “you have me asked”.
I’m the song, the sentence grows line by line:
“You”
“You hate/have”
“You hate/have me”
At this point, 99% of native speakers who never heard the song before would hear it as “you hate me”. But once the final word is added, it can only mean “have”:
“You have me asked” (= you have asked me, see above)
From where he continues with:
“And I have said nothing.”
So through the use of this homophone, Rammstein create the imagery of a relationship which is possibly abusive, where the man feels hated but at the same time is expected to marry her. Only at the very end does he clearly state “No!”. Of course this can be interpreted countless ways, but I’m only describing the language and the craftsmanship thereof as it doesn’t really translate well into English due to the different grammar.

Rammstein is around since 1994. I just have been to two of the concerts of their current stadium tour - they perform currently in Munich where they fill the Olympic Stadium four times in a row. 60k people in the crowd each gig. Great reactions!
There's a video on Rammstein on tour setting up the stadium for the show. Truck after truck after truck after truck. Might be worth a watch
The guy on the treadmill is playing keyboards! Dope af 😅
@@HasPotatoAimHow was the concert? Epic I’m sure.
Agreed on all notes above!
I concur
We love Rammstein in the Springs!!!!
So cool how you introduce people to our addiction Rammstein.
Love it❤
Too cool. I'm an Army brat that lived in Lahr as a kid. Liking your channel. I still count to 10 as well. lol
The Song from the movie is called Feuer Frei. And yes, please bring he back in more Videos ❤ and don't forget Mein Teil and America
Have seen Rammstein 5 times and get quite close and you can feel heat. Unbelievable
I was at this concert. It was insane. This was my 5th time seeing them live. Recommend HIGHLY!!
🔥All band members are certified, licensed pyrotechnics!🔥
Finally got to see them in San Antonio! #BucketList ✌🏽😎
BP totally vibing after 7:34 is one of the best thing I've seen so far on this channel! Keep up the great work guys!
Ich Will, Sonne, and Anerika are real good too
Anerika? It’s everything but anorexic 🤣🤣
A really lively reaction is cool ! ! ! Keep going !
Great video! Looking forward to you guys experiencing Deutschland. It's nuts.
I absolutely love his enthusiasms over this!!!
I love you sharing this with your friends haha The reactions everytime Til shoots the fireworks out into the crowd is so hilarious. Definitely show him Engel.
They just rocked 4 X 60.000 Metalheads in Munichs at one weekend….and still
rocking Europes Stadiums
I was in the crowd that day and it is the best concert of my life ❤
Dude keep doing these i love watching others that havent seen Rammstein. Yes keep it up bring him back!
I saw them last year here in the UK and can confirm, you can really feel that heat when those flames erupt! 'Sonne' is probably the best song for feeling the heat when you're quite near the front, lol
Yeah, saw them at the O2 about 10 yrs ago and those flames are intense aren’t they!
@@katedalar720 They sure are!
It doesn't matter how you describe a Rammstein concert, you really have to experience one to appreciate it. Most awesome concert ever. And yes it's fucking hot wherever you are in the stadium!!!!!
@@Stiffspeed Yeah I saw them years ago at Brixton Academy and the heat was nuts
Rammstein got great Official music videos dont miss them...The old stuff Sonne Du hast , Ich Will ....and newer Radio, Zeit, Dicke Titten ...
Americans should also watch Amerika.
They are known for their usage of pyrotechnics during their concerts. I saw them live last year in Oostende, brilliant show.
Epic reaction. Thanks!
But once they sing "Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide" which translates to "Do you want until the death of the puXXy" ;-)
And check out Electroc Callboy - Tekkno Train! (Fuckboy, Pump It, I got the moves, ...) they are all insanely amusing but really well done songs and videos!
i love that they used this song as the wake up music in the movie "how high"
For your videographer friend, the official videos might be much more interesting. i´d go for 'Zeit', 'Mein Herz brennt' (the official music video before the piano version), 'Angst', 'Dicke Titten', 'Ich will' (you might get familiar with the Gladbeck hostage crisis before that one), 'Sonne'...
The latest videos have CC with allow RUclips auto-translate.
BTW: I will see them on saturday in Munich 🤘
Listen, this song is so bad ass! There’s so much to this song that is nothing short of brilliant. By the way, you are correct this is industrial metal
Bring him back for more Rammstein!!! His laugh and energy is infectious!!
The ability to have a crowd sing in a language that not too long ago brought terror to your people is amazing.
I concur!
Yes came down to comments to see if any one stated this Yeah
Please bring Joey back. He has an inner child that is beautiful to watch.
Don't forget they are in Paris getting that many French people to sing in German This band is epic along with countless other people around the world learning German even if only a couple words
Bring him back absolutely lol. Love the energy.
Best Live Band in the World. Every1 knows
Can't wait to see your reaction and thoughts on zeit and deautshland
Great reaction, Joe. If you are into music videos, oh man, I assure you, you will looooove Rammstein videos.
I am a new Subscriber, just wanted to say it’s always a pleasure to see people actually enjoy and new groups to them. The look on Joel’s face was priceless and it was so much fun. Thank you for taking the time!
The lead singer is the pyrotechnition. He creates all their stuff
That is the best reaction i have seen you and your friend - he seems totally excited and his comments are unique
Bring him back & both watch the more recent live version of Rammstein, 2022 World Tour!! He has a "backpack" that shoots flames! Or a more recent live version of Mein Teil!
6:50 Just checked when the band was created: Rammstein formed in 1994, damn that's a long time. Nearly 30 years.
This is what i love about culture 🫶 Du hast mich 🤘
The Paris shows were recorded using a total of 30 cameras. This may have been edited together from multiple shows but they are epic live.
Thanks!
Best visual performance I’ve ever seen live.
I just saw them live for the first time yesterday here in Munich with 70.000 other people. Ohhh boy am I hyped. What an experience! But you want to know the best thing? I will go to their show tomorrow again :D
Moin from Germany 😊
Saw them in Denmark on 3 of june...was my 3rth time...still feel the heat in my face🔥🔥🔥
Btw guys ☝️"Feuer frei" was in Triple xxx 😉
Bravo!! So excited when you do Rammstein....careful...the rabbit hole is so deep lol ..loved this one thx! Oh and props to the Nuggets
Can you please react to some of their new stadium tours. The scene is absolutely insane and the pyro is even more insane, even though it seems impossible. Love your content :)
I went to a concert two days ago and it was great !!!! 🙂
Great reaction! And your guest was right, lightning was a post-production effect. Everything else was real ♥
And yes, bring him back. And do together "Adieu"! It is a must-see, their latest music video! You both will love it 😎
Have a nice weekend! 😊
The tesla coils is on the stage next to him
@@Hun73rdk Yes, but these coils can create just small discharges up to few centimeters.
This song is on the Lost Highway soundtrack. Its Feuer Frei that opens XXX...and i dont think you've reacted to that song yet...you'd remember!
I love them so much. This is my favourite song. I've just downloaded all their albums. I'm loving it.
The Lightning Fingers are added in Post Production for the Official Live Video, everything else is real and seen by the audience.
If they could figure out a safe way that looked as good that could reproduce that for real they definitely would do it.
The lead singer and the keyboard player are characters that battle each other.
This song was not at the beginning of xXx. That was Feuer Frei!
This song is also in the movie How High. It is the song played by dude to wake up his boy, along with some blunt smoke to his face 🤣
RUclips "How High Du Hast" tons of people clipped it haha
